Chin hairs

What fresh hell is this. I’m finding little hairs in places I didn’t before which need to be plucked out. In the right (wrong) lighting I can see a few fine hairs. Not enough for a beard by any stretch but this is not a problem I’ve had until recently.

I’m only in my mid-30s, I didn’t expect this for at least another 15 years.

Please tell me I’m not alone and how do you get rid of them!

I'm early 60s, I used to get them waxed off for a few years but it was bloody painful and annoying to have to keep having appointments. I have pale hair and skin so laser doesn't work.

I started to shave with a women's razor but a couple of years ago on here a poster said she used a man's razor because they're so much better, she was right! I do a quick shave every 4 or 5 days, takes a few minutes.

Wow. 18 months? I was going to enquire about electrolysis this year. I live in fear of being in hospital in an emergency and growing a full beard 😀

How often do you have it done? Does it work on black and white wire like hairs and so you have to grow them before an appointment like with waxing?

Mine's rechargeable, and charge lasts ages. It does look just like this one, and even has the same bag and attachments (which I'd forgotten about - I'm not sure I was impressed). But I'm sure I only paid about £30, though it was definitely years ago. I might have paid £90 and just blanked it out I suppose! If mine died, I would grudgingly get it again, even at this price.

Laser! And then a blast with the laser every few months when they then start sprouting in new places! The lady that does my facials is as militant as me in hunting for them when she does my dermaplaning. Sometimes she says we need to laser other times we are good. I’m ONLY allowed to tweeze the white ones. The dark ones I have to leave or shave so she can decide when we are lasering.

58 and never had a single chin hair.

Reading this thread has made me feel a bit of a freak...surely I'm not the only one?

I’ve spent a fortune getting my face waxed for years, then a few months ago I saw a post on here recommending it. £20 later and I no longer need face waxes!
It takes a little bit of practice to get used to.
The delivery arrived on a day I’d had a lip/chin wax in the morning but I found it caught the little hairs that’d been missed.
Initially I got more spots, but then washing my face morning/night with hot tap water and face cloth got it to settle down.

I think different things suit different people and can take a bit of time to figure out your preferences. I’m glad I got waxed for so long as it reduced the growth over the years, and I got used to the discomfort. The tweezerman has been brilliant though. I can use it as and when I want, without waiting for full regrowth AND I saved a fortune already

At this point I have work tweezers, car tweezers and home tweezers! Only on my chin also!

Recently noticed whilst in a hotel with a great mirror that I have basically a full beard/George Michael style goatee. I’m 38. Horrifying! I’ve been plucking out the noticeable black ones but there’s a whole spread of fine hairs that I’m too scared to remove in case it makes things worse.

It would be if I’d never waxed before. Also, it catches all the hairs (long, short, fine, thick) so yeah, it can hurt! It works well for me though and I’m so grateful for discovering it as I couldn’t really afford to keep waxing ☺️

Get tweezing, I also run a epilator over the offending body parts as once they start going grey (literally see through invisible things) you can't even see the bloody things to tweeze them.

Bookmarket, my hair is very fair or grey. Between treatments you shouldn't do anything but trim really, or maybe use removal cream. No removal for about 10 days before the treatment. Waxing is not recommended, and tweezers definitely not. Apparently tweezing can twist the folicle, making them harder to remove.

I've been tweezing for probably 20 years, definitely must cause damage to the follicle over time as I don't get hairs where I used to but they sprout up in a slightly different place , it's never ending.🙈

I'm 43 and have been fighting a losing battle with chin hairs since my early 30s. In that time, I have tried everything. Literally everything. Tweezing, dermaplaning, waxing, electric razoring, you name it, I've tried it. The hairs have laughed in my face and grown thicker, longer, darker/lighter (they just choose which option has maximum impact. If it's sunny, the most prominent hair will be jet black. In dim light, it will be bright white and will gleam with a ghostly glow). I'll check my skin in the morning and it will be smooth. Two hours later, in the middle of an important meeting I will brush a finger lightly over my face and feel a hair the length and texture of barbed wire on my chin.

What works, the only thing I've found that does, is threading. I'm on a strict 4-week schedule, and if I leave it longer than that it's game over, but by keeping to a regular threading regime it's under control and no-one knows that I'm a Yeti in my natural state. Give it a go, it's very effective and beats every other option I've tried hands down.

Sigh. 43 and have had chin hair since 20s, slowly increasing. Have also got almost half a head of grey hair already. Luckily I have fair hair anyway so it just blends in like highlights.
I was the first in my year to get my period so wondering if that’s anything to do with my premature greying and bearding lol

I’ve been having regular electrolysis for years. Doesn’t stop new ones from growing but does mean I’m not collecting the bastards.

I have a spot on my chin where a lot of big, thick, black hair grows, then a few other spots along my jawline too. I just shave them every day. My sister has it too but she has PCOS and I don’t (as in, I have all the symptoms but no cysts. I know this has been changed recently though and will be going back to the drs). I’m 30 and I’ve been getting this for about 6-7 years maybe. You’re definitely not alone!
