Chin hairs

What fresh hell is this. I’m finding little hairs in places I didn’t before which need to be plucked out. In the right (wrong) lighting I can see a few fine hairs. Not enough for a beard by any stretch but this is not a problem I’ve had until recently.

I’m only in my mid-30s, I didn’t expect this for at least another 15 years.

Please tell me I’m not alone and how do you get rid of them!

58 and never had a single chin hair.

Reading this thread has made me feel a bit of a freak...surely I'm not the only one?

I had a colleague like that. She'd just never had chin hairs, you know.

We didn't like to point out that what she'd never had was a good look at her face!

It's amazing how they're totally invisible to you when you look in the mirror, but from other angles they're surprisingly obvious.

I have to shave my chin every day thanks to PCOS. I'd grow a very impressive goatee otherwise.

Boreded · Today 21:10

Ahhhh the lovely days when it was just one or two and I could either pluck or use removal cream. Now I shave it because it’s the only way to have it completely gone without having to let it grow out enough that people can see it.

I hate it, but if I don’t laugh I’ll cry, and at least nobody ever sees it except me and my husband

Ruthietuthie · Today 21:11

Just get electrolysis.
Plucking, eventually, damages the root, so the hair might grow in strangely or in-grown. And soon, feeling the tiny little spikes coming through the skin and then plucking them will become an obsession. Plucking (and the hairs then growing through under the surface) caused my skin to be constantly red and then caused scarring. Go straight for the electrolysis. It took a handful of sessions once a month to get rid of the all. I go in now perhaps once a year to deal with the tiny number that return because you do get a few new ones as hormones shift.

Mid 40's and actually have to shave 😬🙄🫨🫣

I have a spot on my chin where a lot of big, thick, black hair grows, then a few other spots along my jawline too. I just shave them every day. My sister has it too but she has PCOS and I don’t (as in, I have all the symptoms but no cysts. I know this has been changed recently though and will be going back to the drs). I’m 30 and I’ve been getting this for about 6-7 years maybe. You’re definitely not alone!

Yeah they say I don’t have PCOS but one period every 2 years on average since my early 20s, a belly in the perfect shape (almost no fat on legs though), and a full beard.

I’m 56 they definitely appear overnight. I’ve made DD promise to keep them at bay if I become demented or incapacitated.

I only have sons, so not sure how they’d feel if I asked them. Luckily I have a great DDIL and she won’t mind being co-opted. She has PCOS so KNOWS about unwanted hair.

I occasionally get long hairs - over an inch or so - that seem to mysteriously appear on my neck almost overnight. I can have a good pluck the night before and wham!, there’s one that’s made an unwelcome appearance in the mirror the next morning. Because of the length, I’m wondering if maybe it’s been there for ages and I’ve just not noticed, and that when I’ve been up the gym flat on my back doing bench presses or something with my neck exposed, the hair has been there waving around for all to see. I would check with my Personal Trainer who is very observant and watches me very carefully, but he’s a bloke so that’s a no-no. I don’t know why nature hates us so much.

I spent an open bloody fortune on electrolysis in my 20's and got rid of the buggers. Now I'm in my 50's and it's multiple mirrors and tweezers everywhere ffs.
Mind you I just googled that Simple Human mirror recommended...£161 🫣

Hedgehogforshort · Today 21:19

Boiledbeetle · Today 20:16

There is nothing worse than discovering the Tweezerman tweezers have disappeared and you have to resort to the free pair that came with a Christmas gift set.

I'm off to Google Simplehuman Mirror. Is it better at being a mirror than their kitchen bins are at being bins?

I knew it was you without looking at your name so true 😂

H0ldmybeer · Today 21:20

I get them on my neck now 😭

Whosthetabbynow · Today 21:21

I use the magnifying side of a shaving mirror. On a recent holiday there was an illuminated mirror at about 10 times the strength. Spent many a happy half hour with the tweezers.

Lollipopsicle · Today 21:21

Oh, and I also have a few hairs that grow round my right nipple now and one on my left nipple. And then there’s my belly button. The list is endless.

Hedgehogforshort · Today 21:24

I have a selection of Christmas cracker tweezers just as a back up

anewstartin2026 · Today 21:26

I’m 56 and struggling with how to remove the ever-increasing peach fuzz. I did use the Flawless but it feels too small for the job now! I’m very fair too. I have been wondering about using a proper razor but fear it growing back thicker/stubbly. What should I do - is it time for cream maybe? Help!

grumpygrape · Today 21:30

Pluck, pluck, pluck !

It gets easier because when you hit 60 – 70, they go white/grey so even if you can feel them they are less obvious but, yes they do pop out at least ¾ of an inch long, the little buggers.

rivalsbinge · Today 21:35

I now have bathroom tweezers, car tweezers and handbag tweezers and a few more I’ve lost, when I die my DS will think I have some kind of weird obsession!

suburburban · Today 21:41

I find the electrolysis weakens hair

I am mid 30s OP. I derma-plane once a week but it’s now not enough 😂😂

Momlife86 · Today 21:43

I use hair removal cream every second Sunday on my chin and now slowly moving down my chin onto neck and also above my lip.
The hairs are spreading 😭
I then do a hair check in the mirror morning and night and keep a tweezers in the car of course.
The first day or two after hair removal are the best and I feel smooooth.
I used to wax and sometimes think of going back to it….

AvidMauveCrab · Today 21:45

You’re lucky you’ve only started now… I started mid 20s after having my DC. It’s like a part time job now 😩. The shame I feel when I spot one at the end of the day knowing I’ve been out in public/work/seeing friends is next level!

RubyFatball · Today 21:46

Ballooney · Today 20:06

I have PCOS so have had chin hair since my teens, not just a few either! I tried everything but gave in a few years ago and just shave every morning. All good except when I have been unexpectedly away with no razor! If i just had a few plucking sounds quite satisfying.

Tried this approach but hate to think of stubble. I now get them threaded once ever week or two and honestly it’s reduced them so much, far more than IPL which I’ve tried twice and much cheaper too.

Vanillazebra · Today 21:48

Two cups of Spearmint tea per day, electrolysis, and car tweezers

Gentlework · Today 21:50

pouletvous · Today 19:46

feeling for chin hairs whilst driving and then getting home, shining a
light whilst plucking is my hobby

It's one of the perks of getting older. So, so satisfying! 😂

I'm early 60s, I used to get them waxed off for a few years but it was bloody painful and annoying to have to keep having appointments. I have pale hair and skin so laser doesn't work.

I started to shave with a women's razor but a couple of years ago on here a poster said she used a man's razor because they're so much better, she was right! I do a quick shave every 4 or 5 days, takes a few minutes.

Which razor do you use?

BringBackTheLight · Today 21:51

Too many to just tweezer here.
Wax, usually on a Sunday evening then tweezer them during the week to keep them at bay. By Sunday there's enough to wax again.
Car tweezing is the best.
