Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

Agree it doesn’t seem very exciting, and is quite repetitive, most things have been in other calendars in the past couple of years.

JL have revealed their calendar contents really early this year. They were always one of the last. I see it has gone up to £250 this year too, whereas it used to be one under the £200 mark. Doesn’t excite me at all. 😏

Less exciting fragrances in it this year too, but I see they have the Foreo device in there

Anyone used a Foreo? For me, that would likely be a novelty product used for a week and then collecting dust.unless of course it’s brilliant?

Gosh. The more I see of these BACs, the more I think I actually might abstain this year. But I have said that for years... JL is particularly disappointing this year I think, you usually get fairly useful, decent products from naice brands but this year (apart from a couple of brands) the full size products are pretty uninspiring, the 'deluxe' sizes are either too small or boring, and the fragrances aren't interesting. You had Le Labo, Initio and Frederic Malle last year and this year you're getting Versace and Gucci? Yikes.

I’m delighted it’s not tempting. Last year had a beautiful box too- they seem to have gone a bit boring on that front as well. It’s the beige of the advent calendar world. High street at luxury price.

I'm really disappointed in JL, I was waiting for that as I loved the look of last years and after the recent minis they've been giving away I was hopeful of Le Labo turning up. Definitely won't be getting that one!

Also marked safe from JL calendar. It's nice enough but not for a seasoned BAC buyer. Maybe has mass market appeal.

Yep, JL looks v uninspiring and too high street, rather than high end stuff that I want to try. I love Sisley masks, but the rest looks like a Next Beauty Box offering.

I have the Foreo Bear 2 which I use a few times a week. I think it does tighten the skin a little but I am disappointed it hasn’t made me look 20 years younger! 😂
I think the UFO product included in the JL calendar is a device that helps your face absorb skin masks. Something like that anyway!

Im always relieved when I see another calendar that I can rule out 🤣. JL doesn't tempt me at all.

phew! I’m safe. This isn’t for me as I either have multiples of the things in my stash or I know I don’t like it. There’s nothing new and exciting for me which is great relief!

I guess if there's no volunteers I'll just set up the next thread.

I have to agree! My tastes are so bougie now after all these fancy advents and edits, this JL one doesn't cut it and definitely not for £250.

Thank you v much for the offer. I've literally just done it as this thread is very close to done. Will happily accept volunteers for the next one - it probably needs agreement around page 39 though to set up in time and add in a link before the thread ends.

Oh sorry Ova, I posted the JL and then my new fencing arrived so i was outside without my phone. I would've been happy to set up the next one.

It's fine. I probably should have asked for volunteers yesterday when the thread was still on page 38/39. Forward planning and all that! I was worried the thread would close before there was chance for a new link to be added.

Thanks. I really wanted to like this one. I liked the look of last year’s.

It must be really hard for the creators / buyers of the beauty ACs to think far enough ahead. We move on so quickly because we’re trying absolutely everything and recommending new things to each other and going off on little tangents. It’s like we’ve created a little shop of horrors beauty monster. And they’re desperately trying to feed us!!

Or maybe we are only a tiny proportion of their audience and I have main character syndrome.

I’d like it if they filled them with about a third favourites, a third not yet released, and then kept a few drawers back / empty for a surprise or mystery bundle of “trending now” that they sort just before launch. Although I imagine that would be logistical nightmare! And a bit risky in terms of customer satisfaction.

@OvaHere thank you for the new thread. I’m not much use for starting them but I really do appreciate the effort you put into keeping it going, and am thankful for the volunteers who are a bit more savvy than me and can help. I’ve never done it before, don’t know what it entails and truth be told, it scares me rigid, That makes me sound a bit flaky but the mere thought of starting a breaks me out in a sweat. Sorry 😞
