Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

There's a number of others with waitlists open and it's been announced that the 3 Harrods calendars are coming soon.

Harrods should hit them with the stats - literally 🤣

Things like an influencer commenting on how she likes the products will be part of the deal - halo effect for the brand even if it doesn't/can't sell more complete calendars!

Well they're sending them out before it's even gone on sale which suggests to me that it's more about promoting the calendar itself. I've not noticed any influencers promoting the beauty one yet, but 4 of the influencers I follow have the fragrance one and I follow more beauty influencers.

Last year the influencers got the fragrance calendars at the same time as the people who bought them.

What do the waitlists actually do? I'm sure I signed up to a waitlist for Harrods but they just posted a YouTube video which I wouldn't have seen if I weren't on here. I don't think I've received a content reveal email. Has anyone actually received early news from these waitlists or are you like me and starting to think these waitlists are pointless? - I don't sound like I'm too happy with Harrods today, do I?! 🙈🤣

The vogue waitlist did at least accurately inform you when it went on sale, and in previous years they've sent a contents reveal email - so managed considerably more than Harrods did 😂

Speaking of Harrods, I've just stopped in, am heading to the perfume hall to test a few from the calendar. The store itself smells amazing, haven't been here for years.

Is there a Harrods waitlist?

I emailed them last week to see would they be shipping to Ireland, would it be taxes and duties included (it usually is for them) and how much it would be in €.

Their reply? We don't know. Download the app and sign up to rewards.

Realistically, if, as is likely, it is going on sale next week, how could they not know the answer to those questions? It's not like I'm asking for the 3rd secret of Fatima.

Can you report back? Nowhere me stocks the majority of the fragrances in the calendar and I'd love to hear what you think.

From what I saw reading last years threads and managing to find the T&Cs, (which I now cant find) Harrods ship the FAC to Ireland but not Northern Ireland. It's something to do with the carriers they use being different in both places and one classing perfume as hazardous whilst the other will still carry it.

@JoRaRaRa who are the influencers you you follow if you don’t mind sharing ? I asked on the Perfumista chat about Daniel Rene but no one has responded . I’ve started following him as he has 2.4 million followers on Tik Tok . I really love his reviews on perfume . I’ve ordered a dupe he recommended so I have high hopes 🙏🏽 I was hoping he would review the Harrods FBAC .

My DIY fragrance a/c now has an extra filled drawer, as I ordered Kilian Angels Share 7.5ml from CB with 20% off, plus used my last £5 credit.

Imo, it was still ridiculously expensive for only 7.5ml, (£26.50), but I decided it was worth it as it was for Xmas, (and I was never going to buy a bigger size at the price it costs!) I also put the two AS samples from the JL event into the same drawer, so that made it feel like it was a bit ´bigger’.

I probably should have ordered another five samples at the same time to get the £10 perfume credit. However, I decided that this would be false economy as I would then have ordered another perfume, therefore spending even more money!

I might just ask DH to fill the remaining four drawers with small, inexpensive non-fragrance items, using his imagination. Letting him go free range doesn’t usually end well, but every now and then he surprises me, (and it would be nice if I didn’t know the contents of the whole thing).

I follow Daniel rene on insta but he's not posted anything. Sorry I didn't actually put the name to the face when you mentioned him. He's not one of the ones who's posted about the Harrods FAC.

Has he in your opinion been on the money with his reviews on perfume ?

Thank you. Yes, that is my understanding too. But they didn't ship to Ireland in previous years so they could change their minds again. I only found out they were shipping to Ireland last year after it was sold out. I was most disappointed. Hopefully we bought enough off them last year that they figure it is worth shipping to us😁

I know! I suspect it’s all part of the hype. Tell us nothing and hope we panic and buy. I might change my mind if I knew what exchange rate they are using in advance 😄

I was rummaging through my perfume minis just now and found an Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman travel/deluxe size. I must have got it in an edit last year and put it away without thinking - maybe it was in the brilliant CB perfume GWP 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, I have given it a trial on one arm. I don’t hate it, tbf.

I quite liked the Blue Talisman on sniff test, but I’d not gotten around to wearing it. Then DS mentioned it recently in a list of fragrances that he wanted to try, and I remembered it was on my stash so he’s ended up with it. It does smell lovely on him

Oh I love that one, I got it in the Liberty BAC last year. Im going to have to remember where I put it.
I really need to have a sort through my stuff, I found one of the bargain CB fragrance stockings I'd forgotten about earlier and the SK set Boots did at the start of the year. I wonder what else I've forgotten about 🤔
