Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

And that’s only 1/2 my stash

OvaHere · 27/07/2026 21:19

@AlPaccacino you need one about as much as I do. 😂

That’s made me feel so much better!

First look at Lancome BAC.

It's the beauty case I'll be looking out for again this year. Really loved last years and not as expensive as the actual advent.

What happened to the bridal beauty mystery box? Did it go kaput after all the negativity?! 🤣

JoRaRaRa · 27/07/2026 21:43

@AlPaccacino but do you neeeeeeed it? 🤣

I really, really don’t need another FAC, do I?

Haha, you’re worse than me! I do make a point of going to test the fragrances (where possible) to narrow down what I like most and want to keep, but still end up with more ‘maybes’

Thelifeofawife · 27/07/2026 22:08

@OvaHere I love the look of the Lancôme BAC! But I still have the beauty bag from last year unopened in my wardrobe…I really need to put everything in one place so I can keep track; which was the point of the storage drawers I bought a few months ago, but it turns out I have way more stuff than I thought!!

I've used up everything from the bag last year apart from the perfume which I'm not overly keen on (not sure why i kept it) and the eye palette which I have used a few times. I need to remember to get it in rotation for autumn winter as they're not really summer colours.

I have what I'm currently using am in a display stand on my dressing table, then PM in the bathroom. My 'to use next' drawers, all sectioned into 'masks, cleansers & toners' 'serums, creams, eye creams & spf' 'haircare' 'bodycare' 'perfume'. I then have a backup box as I take something out of the drawers, I move something from the backup box into the drawer. Basically, what I'm saying is that you now need a backup box 🤣 a big plastic one that can also live on your spare room floor too 🙈 Maybe also have a look through and decide if you think you're actually going to use it, if not, sell sell sell 🤑

AlPaccacino · 27/07/2026 22:40

Most of those are the smaller bottles. I have 2 ikea boxes with my full sizes that I swap out every now and again. I might have to insure my collection separately as apparently burglaries around here are targeting perfumes.

I love the look of the palette and even recently watched a Han beauty video on it, I’m kicking myself for not using it at the beginning of the year, but autumn will soon be upon us so I’ll have it ready for then

I have the same system as you, but I somehow keep finding more things stashed around the place, including a second back up box 🙈😅
I have my main back up of back ups box under my bed and did recently go through it to start being realistic about what I’d use and listed/sold some bits.

I think the main am & pm baskets plus organised drawers is a good system, I just keep adding to it though, so I do need to be more restrained.
I’ve got a load of unopened facial oils, and I can’t remember the last time I used one, so I need to start to incorporate those back into my routine

I wonder if this is the vogue advent for 2026.

I'm sorely tempted by Vogue every year after FOMO on the first one. I may scratch the itch this year 😁

@BeanNaGealai I've tried to be succinct but this is massive post apologies! So, disclaimer being perfume taste is very individual of course, and I don't really know how to talk about perfume. I came out of the store with a blinding headache so must have overdone the sniffing anyway - it wasn't wise to try most of the perfumes in one go! At least one of the perfumes has quite a strong synthetic note that disagreed with me. I wanted to test a few as I know I don't really like the Delina Exclusif enough and didn't know any of the others. and having now tried a load I'm not convinced it's for me tbh. In terms of what I do/don't like generally, I tend not to like really sweet scents and gourmands, or very heavy scents. So bearing that in mind here's my take on the perfumes -
Thameen - light, wearable, very inoffensive floral / clean smell. Safe for work. Feminine. Gets quite powdery after a few hours, ends up a quite nice skin scent but nothing very interesting about it.
BDK Impadia - Initially really liked this, I think it's very similar to Delina. But then it got more and more like Delina Exclusif and ended up too sweet. Gets fruitier as it settles and as the sharpness wears off it gets a bit sickly. Amazing longevity. Bit odd to have this in a calendar with Delina Exclusif maybe.
Memo Paris - starts off smelling like pure argan oil- so smells of horses and hay, not great. Mystified as to why this perfume was made tbh, it must be reacting badly with me or something. Gets better but I can still smell horse. Just found a card with this on and yes it's way nicer, still leathery but no damn horse smell.

Amouage - Very sweet nutty / honey note, I found this cloying and unpleasant initially. It's better after a couple of hours. 4 hours after spraying it's becoming a friendly comforting smell. Strong.
Ex Nihilo- smelt lush in the bottle, expensive, quite masculine. Think I'm noseblind by now as I can only smell it lightly after a few hours.
These ones I only sprayed on card as I'd run out of skin -
Initio - sometimes Oud/agar wood smells medicinal and resin/pine-y - this has that quality. Not at all girly. Ends up warmer/ softer and way nicer than first spray, but it takes a long time to get there.
Maison Frances - another medicinal Oud. Smells cold. Very strong. Gets softer and kind of intriguing but makes me think of morgues.
Jeroboam - I liked this, although theoretically it's 2 things I'm not mad on - a bit sweet and quite strong saffron initially.
Born to stand out - butterscotch popcorn and sour milk at first. I didn't spray this on skin as I'd read some people smell the off-milk. I am one of them. After a few hours it's burnt butterscotch with extra butter and has improved hugely.

IlovePond · 28/07/2026 12:16

Smells of 🐴🐎🎠🏇 @LightandBreezy 😹😹😹 - absolutely brilliant!

Harrods should immediately alter their description!

This is really helpful - thanks for trying all the fragrances and give giving your feedback.

Not loving the sound of Memo Paris. Who wants to smell like horses?! 😣
I am also not a big oud lover so unlikely to like the oud fragrances. Ex Nihilo sounds nice but if it leans masculine then it is likely it will go DH’s way. Hmm, maybe I shouldn’t go for it, but I am pretty sure I will still try to grab it when it is released! 😆

IlovePond · 28/07/2026 12:23

Do you too want to smell of horse?

Neigh…

IlovePond · 28/07/2026 12:24

Re: Milk smell - I originally disliked the Commodity Milk perfumes, because off milk was all I could smell at first, but they’ve sort of grown on me!

Addictedtobeauty · 28/07/2026 12:35

The HFAC is one I will try to get if I can because I’d like about a third of it, including the Delina, which is the main draw for me and the Jo Malone (though I wish this was a more inspiring scent. Last years JM inclusion was a much better choice imo).
I mean it’s more about the thrill of the chase really. I don’t need it at all.

JoRaRaRa · 28/07/2026 12:37

@LightandBreezy thank you for your descriptions. Please go spread this all over insta and put a load of people off 🙏🏻🤣
Someone described the jeroboam as what they'd expect a witches house to smell like, I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Is it a foul witch that has been cooking children? I like to think that it's more of a meg witch, and it's a mix of her breakfast jams with herbs, wood and magic (let's forget about the toads and mice 🤣).

ClutteredPalace · 28/07/2026 13:00

Thanks @LightandBreezy that's, really helpful. Im most excited about the jeroboam so glad to see you liked it. Love the horse description as well 😂
