Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

Oh and also have the jones road miracle balm and the trinny eye…good selection of make up…

Do you like the Jones Road Miracle Balm? I like the theory but I’ve heard it is like tinted Vaseline, a texture I do not like.

Endgames · 01/07/2026 16:04

Yes - it does look nice, and is versatile, good for skin etc but I wouldn’t repurchase just because of the sticky factor. But it’s in the same level of tackiness as Westland atelier highlighter - i didn’t find it supremely unusable.

Puravida23 · 01/07/2026 16:05

Typically Liberty announce their advent today after the liberty holiday haul kit sells out. I was debating wether to use my credit on this or the advent. I like the advent but I obviously have too much stuff as I own at least 10 of the items already. I think the fragrance is particularly disappointing for me as quite a few have already been featured by liberty or others. . I think I have owned or still own at least 4 debaser and escentric molecule perfumes I refuse to have any more in the house. Ditto the Ilia mascara and Sunday Riley serum
I would like to try the Reome , Jones Road and Violette products though.
On other news I just went to look at the Harrods fragrance tote and it is already sold out so I fear the fragrance calender is going to sell out within minutes this year (I actually think the Harrods website will crash , a bit of me wonders if that is why they released it a day early last year)

namechange0998776554799000 · 01/07/2026 16:08

That's funny @Endgames, I also have most of the makeup and that's what has made me conclude it's a great selection for a BAC, just sadly not for me!

Endgames · 01/07/2026 16:23

Ikr, if only this one had come out last year!!! I’d have been plunking the money down straightaway!

SheilaFentiman · 01/07/2026 16:28

Like @Mejera i got the Lumene in a sale (after the NY so I used it for a birthday advent!) but maybe will sign up for the neals yard this year.

IlovePond · 01/07/2026 16:38

Thanks for the thread @OvaHere

Thanks also to @hiccuping for the comprehensive breakdown of the stuff in the Liberty calendar on the other thread.

Nearly50omg · 01/07/2026 16:40

For the first time I won’t be buying the liberty one - VERY disappointed in the contents this year

BIossomtoes · 01/07/2026 17:00

JoRaRaRa · 01/07/2026 15:18

@Mejera I ended up buying a few calendars and then sold off what I didn't want, I found that if there was quite a few things I wanted, it was a cheaper way to do it. I did really enjoy doing a Frankenstein and already starting to think I should do it again 🙈

I'd love to try the Sisley cream from the liberty calendar and I love Fugazzi angel dust, plus I could keep 1 or 2 things then keep the box as my Frankenstein. I have credit and as a BD member, I'd get £25 off too, so it would be less then if I buy the Sisley cream. Oh man! I'm already trying to justify it 🤪

That’s beauty maths at its finest!

openended · 01/07/2026 17:04

Thanks @OvaHere for the thread. I have never had a liberty calendar and on first glance I do prefer this one to last years. I'm going to take a closer look once back home from our holiday.

TreesinthePark · 01/07/2026 17:15

Thank you @OvaHere and volunteers for the threads.

I'm very much looking forward to dissecting this year's advents with everyone.

26inprogress · 01/07/2026 17:16

In case anyone else like me is on holiday when the calendar is dispatched, Liberty can’t delay. Apparently I can contact the courier but I don’t think I’ll risk that so will have to wait to order until Sept if I decide to go for it!

Chickydoo · 01/07/2026 17:18

I like the look of the Liberty, I keep meaning to try a different one but somehow Liberty wins for me each year.

hairbearbunches · 01/07/2026 17:44

I'm fairly meh on the Liberty calendar. It's nowhere near as good as the John Lewis calendar of last year. Waiting to see what JL offers this year.

pinkchampagne1 · 01/07/2026 17:54

Thank you for the thread, OvaHere. I have been looking forward to the advent releases. 😊
I am disappointed with the Liberty calendar as 3 of the skin care products were in last year’s Harrods calendar (still have the U beauty serum and the MZ eye cream in my stash), plus I have the Tana Meadow fragrance and really don’t like the Debaser. There are just no wow products in it for me.

I am hoping this year’s Harrods calendar is a good one. I will probably try to get my hands on the fragrance one too, even though I really don’t need to add to my fragrance collection!
Also looking forward to the Space NK reveal. 😃

SoloCat · 01/07/2026 19:09

Thank you for the new thread @OvaHere Looking forward to all the reveals, although Liberty is not a wow from me, for now! Never say never though 😁

Has anyone had a Jo Malone calendar? I’m seriously tempted to put £50 a month away and treat myself this year.

I can't remember if anyone bought Jo Malone last year. I know one poster bought the Diptyque one which was gorgeous.

Didn’t get it last year but looked alot. Think it might be on the cards this year. I was hoping Liberty sold it and I could use my BD credit for it but I don’t think they do. I might have a big clear out and Vinted/Ebay push over the Summer to try and make it a (girl maths) net zero purchase.

I bought a few Jones road items with my first lot of beauty drop credit. Wtf foundation and the balm
Awful imo

I got the Jo Malone calendar for Christmas last year. DH bought it for me as he works for Eurotunnel so gets a 30% discount off Duty Free prices. Think he managed to get it for just over £200.
I really enjoyed it. Every item was carefully wrapped in black tissue paper and it felt a real treat. I got several small bottles of perfume, one 30ml bottle, body lotions, hand cream, hand and body wash, 3 little candles, body spray and lip balm. 😊

I had it a number of years ago. It felt very luxurious. However, I wasn’t keen on lots of the perfume. Some were heavily masculine and too intense for me. I’m not sure if the variety has changed recently but if you love a large variety of Jo malone then you will love it.
The following year I tried a JO loves calendar and much preferred this so might be worth a comparison.

I'm feeling impatient for more reveals now. One isn't enough. I want to know what's going to be in all of them. 😂

I feel the same 😆
I think Harrods gave a few spoilers at the end of July last year and released the calendar early August
