Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

Same. I really want a good mix of a full routine. I’d prefer a day cream and night cream, or 2 of either, rather than a night mask; I’ve got so many of them and I’ve barely used them.

I love doing my spreadsheets. Though I already know that I won’t bother adding Liberty to it this year

Incidentally, I do not want any K18 products. The one I got last year (was it in SNK?) did nothing for me, just broke my hair and made even more fall out.

I also used the Percy & Reed blow dry cream a few days ago. I liked it on first use several months ago, but whenever I’ve used it since it I’ve liked it less so, so I shoved it to the back of a drawer. When I used it again recently my hair felt awful, so it’s going in the bin.

I’m one of the weirdos who actually really likes the PK elasticizer, and have even bought more from Vinted 😅

I’ve had the Jo Malone calendar twice and Jo Loves once, and I loved them. I don’t think there was anything that I haven’t used. I bought the 2024 L’Artisan Parfumeur calendar in the sale last summer, and really enjoyed it.

I'm quite disappointed with the Liberty calendar this year, but I remember looking at their men’s calendar last year and thinking it was much better than the women’s. I know the box is beautiful, but it’s been largely unchanged for several years now and it would have been nice if they had updated it a bit this year.

when Im choosing my calendars this year, I’ll be looking for lots of perfume, night and day creams, and maybe nice candles. I definitely want to avoid make up, masks, and cleansers.

@Thelifeofawife I wasn't too impressed with the k18 mask either, I received a mini from somewhere, and now I'm thinking of selling the full size from the snk but vinted is full of them. It didn't break my hair, thankfully, but it just didn't do anything. I think my favourite hair products are living proof, Christophe robin, Color wow and Philip Kingsley. Oh and ouai.

I also don't think liberty should go on my spreadsheet, I've looked more into the Sisley face cream and it's another layer rather than a standalone face cream so I don't think I'll bother. But to assess properly, I will add it 🙂

@Growlybear83 seems we're after different acs 🤣 I like a bit of makeup, a cleanser and a mask, I even don't mind a sheet mask and a cream mask. Also happy to take 2 cleansers if they're not similar, like a cleansing balm and foam cleanser etc.

I would also like a full skincare routine - a nice serum, day moisturiser, night moisturiser, a good cleanser, a decent neck cream like Trinny or Sisley would be great, a couple of nice fragrances and a little bit of make up. Not too much in the way of make up though as only really wear it on a night out so it lasts me ages. I think this is why Harrods has suited me for the last few years, as it is more skincare heavy with just a few handy makeup bits.

Ive still not cracked open the k18 mask from SNK, but i did get the oil from CB. Im not really enjoying the oil, doesnt seem to do anything for me. Was hoping for more luck with the mask, but maybe not😬

If im not lucky enough to get my hands on the harrods frag ac, im going look at the beauty one.

Think I am ok for hair care too as have lots to get through so don’t want a calendar that is hair care heavy.

Having looked again at the Liberty calendar, I do think they've listened to feedback. No PK and a couple of brand new products along with a good mix of skincare. Im just a bit put out because I've got half the perfumes already and the amount of fragrance is one of the main draws for me, although if I manage to get the Harrods fragrance I probably won't care as much. It's a shame there isn't a matching conditioner with the shampoo though and I'm not sure about it being pot luck on the colours of a couple of the makeup items unless they somehow suit everyone. The sheer lipstick from last year looked terrible on me though so I don't hold out too much hope on that score.

I can’t believe that Liberty are claiming that one of their ‘full sized’ products in the calendar is a 6ml perfume! 😆

@ClutteredPalace I looked up all the shade variations last night. I'd be happy with either Trinny eye shade but do have a preference for one of them. Most of the Jones Road shades I don't think I'd want.

I think they have listened to feedback from their survey for the most part although I do remember mentioning about wanting shampoo and conditioner to match.

@pinkchampagne1 full size in AC a lot of the time seems to mean - is this size available to purchase. MP sell those 6ml bottles at Liberty. I bought some a couple of years ago. IIRC you have to buy them in a pick and mix set of three though.

Sometimes brands call a tiny version a “luxury size”. Nooooo… a luxury size is a stupidly big item that’ll take me a year to get through, not one for a weekend away!

@JoRaRaRa I also like the Colour Wow - I’ve repurchased the shampoo & conditioner many times, and stocked up recently when LF had a good deal on them.
I also bought the money mist on Amazon prime deal, but not yet tried it.

I’ve never tried Living Proof, I think the ones that came in my BAC were for fine hair so I sold them (or maybe I just thought there wasn’t enough in the tube to get a real try of it, which seems to happen a lot).

I’ve got a Christophe Robin scalp scrub in my stash to try. I think I’ve actually got a freebie CR product with my LF order too

For those of us concerned about Harvey Nichols they have just announced 2 advent calendars will be released a beauty one and a fragrance one . Very happy about this . Last years wasn’t a love for me but I loved the fragrance advent in 2024

Exciting! I loved their beauty one last year and I picked up the fragrance advent when they reduced it. I still haven’t opened that because I have soo much so I might keep last years for this years or maybe not 🙈.

Talking of advent calendars I’ve just opened the perfume I selected with my 24 door voucher for my Jo loves advent that I got maybe 5 years ago. At the time I didn’t realise it was such a big bottle (100ml) and I’d totally forgot how much I liked Pomelo. I think it’s such a good idea for you to try all the different fragrances throughout advent and then select the one you liked the most for a big bottle. If they do a similar advent calendar again this year then I might also add this to my calendar ‘must have’ list.

I had a Liberty one last year, my first luxury beauty advent calendar and I really enjoyed it, and I especially loved that it was fragrance heavy.

I don't mind incidental spoilers (hence why I'm here!) but I don't want to go as far as studying the whole contents list myself. Can anyone who has read it tell me if it's a similarly fragrance heavy again this year?

Alternatively, is there a fragrance only calendar that anyone could recommend?

Liberty has about the same number of fragrances that it had last year I think. If you’re looking for just fragrance, last year there were a few - Harrods (sells out very fast), Harvey Nichols, Space NK, Look Fantastic.

@LancreWowhawk i would say they are quite similar in terms of perfume content but I’m sure someone may have analysed this more and will add to it.

There are quite a few fragrance advents. If there is a specific type of perfume you like it might be worth looking to see if that company does its own advent calendar such as Jo malone, Jo loves, PD Marley. I don’t find these as good value as the mixed fragrance advents but I suppose you know what you are getting and are maybe more likely to like them all.

most big department/beauty stores do their own fragrance ones but often are 12 days calendars rather than 24 day advent calendars. The holy grail of these is the Harrods fragrance calendar but it is always traumatic to get hold of it because the demand far outstrips supply and they sell out within a few hours. It contains staggeringly expensive perfume and is great value. The HN one reduced significantly last year and I haven’t opened it yet so can’t comment on the contents but saying I paid about the same as a single bottle of perfume it was great value.

Also Liberty often do a fragrance bag on the run up to Christmas which is also worth a look at. I had this the last 2 years and liked it.
