Time for a new thread, our first in a MN Community Group. We've chatted and purchased beauty bargains so much we've become a literal tribe! 😂

In other news PLouise was out of the gate with ridiculous speed announcing the first advent calendar waitlist in April.

In celebration I thought I'd try out a poll. It runs for 7 days, there was only 6 options so comment in the thread for those that come under 'Other'.

The Erborian creme is brilliant @SheilaFentiman, I dont even bother with foundation with it a lot of the time.

Thanks for the new thread. Looking forward to the SNK calendar, having barely heard of them last year but being a big fan now. Harrods is a close second, I loved mine last year. Definitely boycotting CB however good it is!

@Caggie09 I ordered the mint besties box and have had a note saying the same. It’s my first SK order - really hoping it comes through!

Edited to add: I’ve spent an absolute fortune on beauty products at JL over the years….my offers are on clothing, travel money & 15% off Caudalie. Still waiting for a decent beauty offer!

I'd say that I'd like to see harrods (esp the fragrance), but to be honest, I feel that the content reveals and releases are too early (not that I expect that to change). I was excited last year, but if I hadn't had my Frankenstein, I would've been bored with it all by the end of October 🤣

At the moment, I'm looking forward to the Harrods beauty gwp which should be released soon 🤞 and usually there's some nice travel edits that come out around this time which I'm looking forward to too. I'm really ready for a holiday right now so I reckon I'll end up buying them all 🙈

SNK was a brilliant mix of products last year. I’m aiming to just get 2 this year (after lasts years 5 or maybe 6). I’m finally working out what products I like. The only curve ball is DD, if if I see one that would be a treat for both of us , I’ll buy that too. She also gets her own that I make (lots of Laniege, Gissou and Dior).

Short version- likely to buy SNK or Liberty. Plus Harrods. Will try not to buy fragrance - have too much.

I don’t want to consider anything until September - after holidays. I’ll be slightly irritated with anyone releasing super early.

I've been working through my stash of minis and next on my list was a Kate Somerville got milk cleanser. At the last minute I thought hmm, maybe that's a bad idea given I'm allergic to dairy 😆 I can't believe that never occurred to me before!

Completely separately I used a new day cream today - Beekman Bloom Cream which was a full sized freebie from Beauty Bay. My skin went a bit red after using it which surprised me as everything I'd read said it was a very mild, clean cream that should be good for my skin. I looked up the full description on Skin Rocks and realised it contains goat milk! One more ingredient to add to the list of things my skin apparently can't handle...

Anyone else with a dairy allergy? This is a new thing for me (caused by chemo, apparently now permanent) and it's taken me a while to figure out. I hadn't appreciated it would affect topical things as well as what I eat!

To be fair I’m not sure most people on these threads actually need one; but once you succumb they keep on tempting you until suddenly you have five and no where to store everything. 🫣

I have voted for Harrods as have had it for the last 2 years and loved it. I also really enjoyed their fragrance advent that I managed to get for the first time last year. Not sure I need any more fragrances but that won’t stop me!

@namechange0998776554799000 - sorry to hear about your allergy. MissBoux on YouTube has a dairy allergy and talks about stuff she can’t use in her videos sometimes. She has said it’s amazing how much stuff has milk in it when you wouldn’t necessarily expect it. I think you have to be scrupulous about checking ingredients.

On a related note: I recently had to donate a lot of hand soap to the food bank, (I had stocked up 🙀), because it had almond oil in it. Only realised when DS1 casually enquired if I was trying to finish him off. (He has a peanut/nut allergy and almonds are the ones he reacts most to.)
