Easter is here and so is a new thread. Who needs chocolate when you can have beauty stuff? Or maybe have both. 💋🍫

Welcome to newbies and welcome back veterans of beauty chat threads.

PS. As a sobering thought we are maybe only 3-4 months out from the first advent calendar spoiler. 😂

Well SpaceNK was very easy to deal with. They came back within hours to say they’d ship a new Velatura balm out by the same shipping method (next day) so problem solved. Doesn’t sound like they want the damaged one back so might try out the colour with a brush.

SNK are excellent. I was there in person today and the staff are all so lovely too

My shade is silk and all the others are far too dark, given that need a medium.

I already have most of the minis from a gwp from SNK when I bought my concealer , so it’s a bit rich that they are charging £65.

Sorry I missed this post yesterday. Interesting you had it all as a GWP. I went to Space NK today and yes they were lovely and said I should get Dune in the Hourglass concealer.

IlovePond · 18/04/2026 21:54

That shade of pencil does look nice @SummerLimes

IlovePond · 18/04/2026 21:58

@IDontKnowWhatYouMean - the Boots box looks good. FWIW I watched a Korean YouTuber the other day talking about KBeauty and what Koreans actually buy as opposed to foreign customers and apparently Birch Lab sunscreen is highly rated in the home market!

i just read about a relaunch of Sparks at M&S. I gave up on sparks years ago but maybe it’s worth looking at it again, is anyone on it?

Instead of the previous points-based system, Sparks now rewards member spending with cashback to use at Marks & Spencer.
It’s not exactly a straightforward earn rate. Members will be given personalised offers based on their customer behaviour which will change every Tuesday.
From what I can see on my own account, you get three offers.
My current deals are:

  • Earn £10 into your digital Sparks wallet when you spend £30 on Fashion, Home & Beauty
  • Earn £5 into your digital Sparks wallet when you spend £35 in the Foodhall
  • Earn a £5 reward when you buy online flowers and plants
Each reward can only be earned once. If I spent £90 on clothes, I’d still only get £10 back. Whether I’d then get a new offer to replace the one I used is unclear but I assume not until the Tuesday ‘drop’. M&S credit card holders will get additional perks and offers on top, but will need to connect their credit card to Sparks via the M&S website.

I posted about this a few days ago. Your offers are good - mine was £20 back if I spend £100 on fashion, home or beauty. I did that today and it's worth noting that the £20 credit gets held for 2 weeks in case you return anything. There's no new offer to replace it yet, it looks like mine will be refreshed in 9 days.

Overall I think I prefer the old system of a straight 20% off, although I suppose that was a bit more restrictive given I can now spend the credit on anything. It will depend what my next 'big' offer is though - I bet it will be way more specific than this first one.

SheilaFentiman · 18/04/2026 23:16

Ah yes - it all seems a bit vague!! Like Waitrose little treats which might be a free something nice but might be a pound off something that you don’t like 😀

Thelifeofawife · 19/04/2026 00:15

I went a bit crazy on JL. I caved and bought the radiance beauty box as I want to try the medik8 moisturiser and like a few of the other bits in the box.
I also got a Lancôme Génifique set, and an Elemis set with an Elizabeth Scarlett bag as they were on offer, and I had a 10% discount in my rewards which worked on my basket.

They have some good beauty offers/sets, it’s worth a look

Edit as my link didn’t work

IlovePond · 19/04/2026 08:21

I don’t like the new Sparks - I did occasionally buy something from M&S if I got 20% off knitwear or trousers, etc. There’s no way I spend enough in there to benefit from this scheme. Plus my offers, (as usual), are terrible!

It almost as if they looked at all the other loyalty schemes and thought: ‘Let’s do something worse!’

I bought the radiance box as JL finally sent me a beauty related reward - £10 off £60 spend on make up. After a couple of years of never getting them I didn't want to not use it and never be sent one again (yes I know that's how they get you!)

I'm still at the "5% off home" stage, I can only dream of a £10 off beauty offer 😪

It took me longer than it should to get there. This month as well as that offer I also got one for Foreo products and 30% off Christophe Robin. No idea if May will go back to homeware and travel money!

Offer email from No7 website, must be towards the end and I probably missed the previous emails about this. I am assuming the night cream is from the Prime Forever range which I haven’t tried yet. I still think Laboratoires line serum is superior to Future Renew serum. I will have to test this new prime forever at some point to see if it does anything. At any rate, I am convinced No7 is much better than L’Oreal accross all their skincare ranges for a similar price point.
”final chance to elevate your night routine with a free Night Cream when you spend £40+ or a free Night Cream and Cleanser when you spend £50+. Enter FREENIGHT* at checkout to redeem before the offer ends. With 2 for £40 on skincare, buy one get the second half price on makeup^, and 3 for 2 on our NEW PRIME FOREVER range†, it’s easier than ever to reach the free gift threshold”

Thelifeofawife · 19/04/2026 09:44

@OvaHere I had 10% off make up and fragrance, I took a chance and it worked. Technically it shouldn’t have worked on the Elemis & Lancôme items, but I’m not complaining!
I am having second thoughts about purchasing the Lancôme set, it worked out approx £55 with the discount and extra offer, so a bargain but I don’t really need it and it will take me ages to get around to using it. Similarly with the Elemis set, I have 4 sets from the QVC offer, but it was the Elizabeth Scarlett bag that swung it for me

I'm tempted! I've got 5% off (£3.50!) so might buy.

Does the Bobbi Brown come in a pot or a tube? I've had 2-3 boxes where something is displayed as a pot ut it's a tube. Not really complaining but a pot is better for getting the last ml out.

Thelifeofawife · 19/04/2026 10:05

@Cyclingmummy1 I’m not actually sure. I can’t recall who purchased it when it originally came out.
Interestingly, I prefer the tube to pot

It came in the pot.
I used to have beauty offers regularly and then DH bought some electronics so the last 9 months or so I have had rubbish offers, I had a £10 off beauty for the first time in ages.

Beautyfox · 19/04/2026 10:13

I have £5 off travel money! 🙈 Come on JL i always need really good beauty offers because I’m soo easily tempted but I need something to complete check out.

SummerLimes · 19/04/2026 10:20

I want £10 off so I can buy the box that I don’t need.

user593 · 19/04/2026 10:32

Interesting that Sarah Pidgeon is plugging the Velatura Balm in the latest LE email when she’s also the face of the Rhode Pocket Blush Spring collection 😅

I only have the travel money offer too. Would go for the radiance box if they sent me a beauty discount. I guess I don’t really need more skin care so maybe it’s for the best 😏

MrsBnow12 · 19/04/2026 11:24

There is a gwp on Elizabeth Arden when using the code LORNA20 (care if Lorna Luxe) think you need a ceramide product and also gives 20% off. I ordered a ceramide cleanser and also got a deluxe sample of 50ml renewing cleanser along with the gwp.

You had the same offers as me this month. I have just used the Christophe Robin on some reduced to clear lines. I bought the purifying mask with thermal mud and the hydrating cream scrub with aloe Vera (x2 to trigger free delivery). Total cost £52.92 for 3 big tubs, which I’m pleased with. I do like Christopher Robin products.

Thanks @MrsBnow12 - I also bought from EA, spending just enough to get the Summer blockbuster for £85 at checkout. I bought the ceramide eye +HPR eye cream £46.50 after discount and had a 50ml cleanser deluxe sample added free plus the gwp, summer blockbuster and a couple of 2ml sachet samples.

An expensive morning, but you know, we’ve all been there 🥰.

Looking forward to receiving my goodies.

So I spent some time looking at the hourglass concealer colours https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/beauty-box/hourglass-exclusive-limited-edition-essentials-set-medium-worth-95/17750372/

The page @JoRaRaRa shared is useful because it has some text at the bottom about shades good for blue, red or grey tone under eye areas. https://www.hourglasscosmetics.com/pages/vanish-airbrush-concealer-shade-finder

The product page on the actual Hourglass website has its own colour match tool! https://www.hourglasscosmetics.co.uk/products/vanish-airbrush-concealer It matched Lisa Eldridge and Nars products I had easily, but couldn’t find the Chantecaille Le Camouflage Stylo I had. I could be anything from Khaki (Medium - Warm Peach), which is in the Medium CB edit, or Sienna (Medium - Cool Rosy), Dune (Medium - warm golden), Flax (Medium - warm olive) which are in the Medium/Deep edit. I’m not willing to risk it and will try to get to an Hourglass counter before I buy. There’s also a new shade called Suede (Medium - Neutral) which I think would be perfect but it’s not an option in the CB edits, in which case I won’t buy it. Hopefully the edit won’t sell out.

The edit is perfect for someone like me who loves Hourglass, doesn’t have a stash and is still using the Tiger palette everyday from Christmas 2022 …

I think I’m the only one that voted CB in the new thread 😅

I was googling “hourglass GWP” and this code came up for 20% off almost everything CBXGENIE
