I found my La Mer lip balm! It was in a box that I'd been faffing with, unfortunately I didn't discover this until after DH had gone through the bin for me (with no complaint, he's a star!).

AndeanFlamingo · 04/01/2026 11:15

Has anyone had any issues with vitamin C causing dryness? I'm not 100% sure but I started using a Lumene vitamin C serum a couple of weeks ago and my skin definitely feels tighter and dryer than usual. I've read up on it and it does seem to be a thing. I was looking forward to trying the Emma Lewisham serum from the advent calendar but I think I might have to pass it on. I'm guessing it's likely to have a higher concentration of vitamin C than the Lumene serum too. At least I've realised before opening it.

I use Sunday Riley CEO serum and it’s fine.

AndeanFlamingo · 04/01/2026 14:24

@BIossomtoes I've used that before too and was also fine but it was a very small sample so maybe I didn't use it for long enough to see any longer term effects? Might pass on the Emma Lewisham serum anyway as I don't think my skin really needs any brightening. Anti-aging on the other hand...😱

Hi all, just thought I would let you know, in the interests of being fair to the company, that Liberty have now dealt with my complaint about the TM lipstick and I am satisfied with the outcome.

Oh good Pond. I’m pleased for you, it was a serious issue and I’m glad they’ve lived up to expectations, eventually.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 04/01/2026 16:50

That’s great @IlovePond what did they say / do?

2025istheyeari · 04/01/2026 17:50

That’s great @IlovePond, I’ve always found Liberty CS excellent, even if on occasion it takes a while!

IlovePond · 04/01/2026 21:35

Thanks, guys. Liberty did contact TM but they told them all the lipsticks provided were the same. They did all seem to have the same code, so who knows? I do feel that eventually Liberty did take onboard how upset I was by the whole debacle and I think they took it seriously when I followed up with more information.

Hi everyone! I bought a liberty calendar in August thinking it would be a nice postpartum treat come however as baby was a month old I've not opened any of it as I've been too frazzled to even think about it. I was going to maybe open it as a January treat but now I'm wondering whether the products will keep until December 2026??

IlovePond · 05/01/2026 23:23

@MunsterMumm - congrats on your new baby!

I often keep a calendar to open the next year and would imagine most, if not all of the Liberty products would be fine for Xmas 26.

The exception might be the MZSKIN product as I have heard MZ stuff doesn’t have a particularly long shelf life. It might also be better to use the AB cream and EL serum sooner rather than later - at those prices, you’d be miffed if they'd ‘gone off’ - however unlikely that may be!

Put it this way, I have already started refilling my Liberty 25 calendar with sale purchases and I expect them to be ok for Xmas 26.

If you haven’t already done so, I would check everything is in there. It would be too late to complain to Liberty if you discovered an item was missing next December!

My EL serum really has run out now. The top screws off and I’ve got every bit out that I can.

37 days does not feel like a long time. So I wouldn’t repurchase as the cost per use isn’t good enough. I liked it though!

Edited

That’s not great for the cost is it! I’ve not started mine yet as have a couple of serums on the go. Did you use it am and pm?
I used the argan oil last night, made my hair feel v soft, I liked it, although not too keen on the smell.

congratulations on being a new mum @monstermum.I agree with @ilovepond( but would be temped to have as a jadvent to treat myself rather than waiting until December, but that’s just me!!)

eta to add the comment on opening advent later and now can’t change to @munstermumsorry!

PuzzlingRecluse · 06/01/2026 09:22

@MunsterMumm congratulations! I think you should open it through Jan & have some lovely, well deserved treats x

TragicMuse · 06/01/2026 09:53

@2025istheyeari yes, I used it am and pm. There were a few nights where I used a pm retinol instead, maybe 3! Not lots anyway.

TragicMuse · 06/01/2026 09:55

Another congratulations @MunsterMumm!

I’d say the dark days of January would be perfect for a daily treat!

Or you could save some things and use the face stuff as that’s less likely to keep.

LancreWowhawk · 06/01/2026 10:14

I'm loving the perfumes, they've got me back into using them daily. I've got myself a new box for my dressing table to keep then in so I can choose one each morning, and I've rediscovered some old favourites in the process so that has been lovely.

I liked the MZ skin moisturiser, but really need an SPF one (there is no way that I am adding a separate step) so I bought their SPF one from TKMAXX, but tbh I don't love it. It'd fine, but really no better than my usual Avene one, so I'll be going back when I finish it.

The other products I've been trying are the EL serum and the Paula's Choice. I like them both in that they don't irritate my skin and feel nice going on. I prefer the PC because it sinks in more quickly and I like the texture, but I'm not sure whether they're actually having a positive impact on my skin, so not sure whether I would rebuy either.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 06/01/2026 13:19

I’ve not used the Paula’s Choice one yet as I don’t really know what step to use it in? Can anyone let me know? I’m currently cleanser, toner, serum, moisturiser, eye cream…

Congrats too @MunsterMumm!

Seagullstopitnow · 29/01/2026 07:35

Just tried the votary nocturne balm for the first time (I'm a night balm etc. Sceptic)
I slept like a baby!!
How irritating. Haha, another one to add to the list of things to buy.

Also finally tried the vanilla powder. WOW. I have a lounging hoodie i sometimes pop on when im at my PCand it still smells gorgeous days later from where I sprayed it on my skin. Powerful stuff! This is going to be an expensive calendar fallout 😁

BIossomtoes · 29/01/2026 07:58

The Nocturne is amazing. It’s cured my insomnia.

PacificState · 29/01/2026 07:59

Yeah, it might be placebo but I’ve slept really well every time I’ve used the Nocturne. I was surprised because I’ve tried magnesium before and didn’t feel it improved my sleep at all - but I wasn’t taking it at bedtime, so maybe that was my mistake.

It’s lovely and thick as well - reminds me of Body Shop body butter.

LancreWowhawk · 29/01/2026 09:26

I've given up with the EL serum - after using it for a few weeks, it just made me break out. I still like the PC one though.

I've not tried the Nocturne balm yet though - that sounds promising. And I love the vanilla powder too!

Hicupping · 29/01/2026 09:48

I'm using the EL on my neck.

countdowntonap · 29/01/2026 16:56

Where did you apply it?

2025istheyeari · 03/02/2026 15:36

@countdowntonapi put it on my
legs and arms. It is brilliant!
anyone who’s used the eye cream, how have you found it? I’ve had a perioral dermatitis breakout,it had improved after 2 months of antibiotics but I had a facial a couple of weeks ago and it’s bad again. I can’t use any retinol products and I didn’t rate either the AB rich cream
or serum for my skin so thinking of selling it. Thanks
