Hi
we've been on holiday for a couple
of weeks so haven’t had the chance to use much at all but the skincare products and lipstick def my faves and the Zepherine. If anyone wants to swop Sparkling Jo or the debaser for anything ( as in I swop those) let me know! Im
going to try to use some hair care products before I go out tonight!

Allisnotlost1 · 31/12/2025 11:36

I’ve been using the EL serum every morning, and the MZ at night, alternated with an IS Clinical Sheald (not BAC but highly recommend). I’ve used the AB eye cream since the 25th, and dabbed a bit around my lips and nasolabial folds last night. Honestly my skin is looking great, despite central heating, crappy diet and general winter malaise. Annoying because now I’ll have to buy some of these things again!

TragicMuse · 31/12/2025 11:51

I have used the EL serum daily and love it!
The MZ cream was great, I gave the last bit to my mum as she needed some.
Paula’s Choice I had literally just finished a tube so that came straight in.

My husband is constructing a flat pack chest of drawers for me, then I’m going to sort out ALL my stash and store it neatly! And then I’m going to use it all!

I’m aiming for a low/no spend year, except for BD, and the Glossybox I can’t cancel. So I will get nice things, but I’m going to use them. Or pass them on. NO HOARDING!!

keepincool · 31/12/2025 12:25

I'm also aiming for a no / low buy 2026, as I have far too much stuff. I went overboard this year on 'bargains', and they were actually bargains, but i didn’t need to purchase every bargains that I wanted.

I'm joining the beauty hoarders thread. From what I can gather the thread doesn't have particular aims (e.g. aim use up X amount of products every month or year), just note what you've used and which products you liked / didn't like and whether you'd repurchase. Hopefully I'll see some of you over there 🙂

I don't get a curry smell from the Davines shampoo either, so am using that up. I'm still sure what order to use the argan oil and Larry king cream - can they be used together?

countdowntonap · 31/12/2025 12:34

I finally got around to trying the PK Elasticizer yesterday (fourth one I’ve received over the years through beauty boxes/advents) and I’m pleasantly surprised.
I wet my hair under the tap and then had it on for 20 minutes whilst also wearing a facemask and hoovering the house. I’ll try to use it at least monthly now.

IlovePond · 31/12/2025 19:14

I really like the Zelens, Verden and Votary products from the a/c.

The MZ cream is a bit meh - seems quite drying on me, so I am not bothered that I could never afford to buy more!

I’m using up the mascara but finding that half the product bulges over the top when replacing the brush. It looks nice on, but I wouldn’t repurchase.

I am looking forward to trying the EL serum and the AB eye cream.

The perfumes for me have mostly been a miss.

What’s your view on glossy box @TragicMuse ? I’ve signed up and I bought 2 of the mystery boxes but was very underwhelmed by them .. is it worth doing? And why can’t you cancel it??

I was wrong, it’s Look Fantastic not glossybox. It’s ok but I would prefer to just not have it. It feels a bit…basic. Not luxurious.

I can’t cancel because it auto renewed for a year when I didn’t realise and they just won’t cancel it for me.

Ahh - I think I’ll probably find the same with glossy box, but will review when I get January’s. Thanks also for the point on auto-renew- I’ll make sure I don’t fall for that ! .

Tirednamechange · 31/12/2025 19:53

I have really enjoyed the perfumes and actually a few are my new favourites. The lipstick is ok but nothing amazing and apart from the pk I've yet to use anything! I wanted to wait until I had finished some stuff already open but I've massively broken out over Christmas due to stress and now I'm nervous to add new products at the moment

msmillicentcat · 31/12/2025 23:01

My favourites have been the AB eye cream (which I love) and the EL serum. I also really liked most of the makeup and some of the perfumes.

After using a few times now, I really didn’t like the MZ cream. It didn’t soak into my skin at all and pilled terribly under makeup. I might use up the rest as a night cream.

I also didn’t really get on with any of the hair stuff, although the Davines shampoo wasn’t too bad and I didn’t get a curry smell from mine at all. My daughter used it a few times and her hair is looking the best it’s looked in a while.

Like some of you, I’m also going for a low-buy 2026. I’ve probably got enough perfume and makeup to last me several years. It’s serums and moisturisers that I tend to run out of frequently so I’ll save my money for those.

Happy new year! Wishing you all the very best in 2026 ❤️

TragicMuse · 01/01/2026 15:35

My EL serum has just about run out. So 3/12 to 1/1 at twice a day feels quite quick. I liked it, but I don’t think it’s a repurchase right now as I have lots of others to get through!

IlovePond · 01/01/2026 15:42

That’s interesting @TragicMuse At that price I would expect to get more than a month out if it. Did you think the pump action made it easier to get the ‘right’ amount out or harder?

I think I will probably use it once a day when I have finished my current ones.

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 01/01/2026 15:47

Exactly! I think it was a bit harder @IlovePond the guide says 1.5 pumps which is a bit inexact. I mostly tried for a little more than 1, but less than 2 whole pumps. Sometimes it felt plenty, even a bit too much, sometimes not quite enough. So the pump delivery was a bit unsatisfactory imho.

But yes, at that price I’d want more than a month of use.

Sunshineo · 01/01/2026 15:59

I’ve been unwell since last weekend and feel disgusting but managed a bath last night. I used the elasticizer on my hair and the overnight mask so although I still feel like a swamp monster my hair and skin feel nice.

IlovePond · 01/01/2026 16:02

Thanks @TragicMuse

I’m ill too @Sunshineo - sending you commiserations from my sick bed 🥲

@IlovePond ohno, hope you feel better soon! Isn’t it miserable!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 01/01/2026 16:57

I joined that link for beauty stash hoarders, one of my NY resolutions is to actually use things I have and try to not buy anything this year! I’m sorted for perfume for an eternity I think between the Liberty AC and loads of perfumes I already had. A massive thanks to those who swapped things with me and esp @MaryLou2who very kindly sent me loads of perfumes!

Ive already finished the cleanser, I’m halfway through the mirror water and have sharpened the eye pencil 3 times now. Surprised the EL serum has already finished for you @TragicMuseas I’ve been using mine every day since we got it and it’s still going strong

AndeanFlamingo · 01/01/2026 17:53

I was looking forward to opening the La Mer lip balm today but I can't find the bloody thing 😫I took it out of the calendar last night with the intention of bringing it downstairs but I can't find it in either place. It can't have gone too far but I'm really annoyed.

2025istheyeari · 01/01/2026 19:00

Hope the poorly people feel better soon.
i also used the elasticizer in the same way as @countdowntonapand agree, my hair felt great afterwards. Finally used the mirror water too and really loved it. I’ve had a bad bout of perioral dermatitis and been on antibiotics for 2 months. It’s finally cleared so I’ll hopefully be able to start using some of the skincare soon.
hope you find your lip balm @AndeanFlamingo, so annoying!!

AndeanFlamingo · 02/01/2026 09:25

Thanks @2025istheyeari I was doing some tidying at the same time and I'm wondering if I accidentally chucked it in the bin. Unfortunately DH emptied the bin that evening but he's going to fish out the black bag and check for me later today.

TragicMuse · 02/01/2026 12:33

My EL serum seems to have discovered a reserve! I gave it another squash this morning and it worked. It didn’t yesterday or day before.
