I’ve fallen out of love with Vinted

Since the ladies size debacle I’ve completely lost interest in Vinted. I’ve gone from buying 3-4 things a week to absolutely nothing, all due to the change in sizes descriptions.

Today I thought I’d have a go and look for a jacket, I’m a standard uk12, but now I have to search 10-12, everything I liked was a 10, or a tiny size that’s ended up in the category since the changes.

I really can’t be bothered with it anymore and I’m sad about that as I had so many great purchases over the years.

Anyone else also given up on Vinted?

I haven’t looked for weeks for the same reason. I used to browse and add a favourite to buy when I’d thought about it but I didn’t look probably the whole of November. It’s too much like hard work. I have no idea why they re did the sizing but it was an incredibly stupid thing to do for something that had an easy interface.

Lifeispeacefulthere · 29/11/2025 23:04

I suppose I have actually, I can't be bothered looking through the 16-18 as I don't want 18s. I keep forgetting then do a search and remember and close the app! Why have they changed it?

heartsinvisiblefury · 29/11/2025 23:04

I’m the same. Used to love it. Can’t be arsed trawling through it now.

Mortigua · 29/11/2025 23:04

That explains it , I didn’t know what was going on with it but I ordered something yesterday then cancelled the order as it was the wrong size (despite being listed as one of the sizes I searched for ) then realised everything was the same . So I think I’d searched 14-16 and loads in a 12 but listed as 14-16 ?

wizzywig · 29/11/2025 23:06

Its really irritated me too. Its made it difficult to find my size.

Sleeposaurus · 29/11/2025 23:13

I feel the same. It is pointless as it means a search takes so much longer. What is worse is loads of sellers haven't realised they need to go back and change the size on every item they have listed as you will get to the end of a photo stream and realise that the size on the label doesn't match the size listing.

Not everyone photographs the label so it makes me worried something will arrive and be the wrong size (and I understand that the rules have changed so the buyer has to pay return postage even if the seller is in error).

(I only had one adult item of clothing listed, but was so annoyed to discover that when they changed the size listing it made my listing incorrect. What a waste of time for sellers with multiple items)

Sleeposaurus · 29/11/2025 23:15

Also- it includes listings from America. I don't want to buy from so far away- it will take ages to arrive and I certainly do not want to sell that far away and wait forever for payment to come through. There didn't seem to be a way to switch this off, just that you could cancel the sale afterwards if you wanted.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 29/11/2025 23:16

It’s awful.

FamingolosForDays · 29/11/2025 23:16

I've been using it for months and loved it but in the last 4 weeks I have had several items that I have purchased just not sent by the seller. No explanation. Then have to wait several days for a refund. It's infuriating! Not sure what is going on

eatsleeplaugh · 29/11/2025 23:18

Yes this, I bought a furry coat for a Christmas night out supposed to be size 14. Received it and its a 12 so does not fit. Raging. Used to love vinted as well.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 29/11/2025 23:19

I never thought it would happen but yes...i'm outta love.

Shady buyers complaing about nothing, sellers posting things badly packaged (im talking used food wrappers and nappy packaging.
Items bought and not sent
packages being handled roughly by evri & co
The sizing drama...

I'm over it

I dont get why they messed it up. It was a decent product

OverlyFragrant · 29/11/2025 23:20

Yeah I've given up. They had something very good that just worked and ruined it.

MinimumRage · 29/11/2025 23:21

Agree, have given up.

notacooldad · 29/11/2025 23:21

Yeah ive uninstall the app and have given up with it!

MouldyCandy · 29/11/2025 23:24

The sizing change has been the last straw for me - I had a parcel marked as "undeliverable" for NO reason so it was returned to the seller and Vinted refused to refund me and another seller sent me the wrong item. I can't be bothered with the faff anymore.

TwistedWonder · 29/11/2025 23:25

It’s a mess. I’ve used it since lockdown and had over 500 sales/purchases but now I can barely be arsed to look at it.

I have to think really hard about my listings - for example I have a couple of dresses size L where they are a 14 but an L is now 16/18. But if I list as a 14 then it comes up as M

It’s all over the place.

RappelChoan · 29/11/2025 23:28

Oh that explains it! I only use it occasionally and I wondered why I was finding it so difficult tonight. The sizing is such a pain.

Changingplace · 29/11/2025 23:29

Yeah I think what’s happened is when they’ve changed how the sizes are grouped items that were already listed have ended up being in the wrong category, I’ve noticed it too.

It’s really ridiculous what they’ve done, it makes it twice as hard to find anything!

They’ve also reduced the time you have to collect something from a locker, it used to be a decent amount of time but last week it only gave me 48hrs, I couldn’t get there and it got returned ffs?!

PinkFootstool · 29/11/2025 23:29

Same. I've resized my items for sale and taken it off holiday mode, but no one is looking and no one is buying.

I haven't bought a thing myself since the end of October and I've bought and sold dozens of items this year.

Vinted have absolutely fucked their business model and their reputation. I'm not sure how they'll get it back - eBay are hitting the advertising hard this week I've noticed.

Lavendersquare · 29/11/2025 23:29

So not just me then. I imagine the uk sales figures for November will be shocking. I just don’t understand why they had to mess it up, this business of unifying the sizes (which it hasn’t) doesn’t make sense as American women will be looking for an American size 10, and also won’t want to search American size 8’s and 10’s lumped together any more than we do 🤷🏻‍♀️.

OP posts:
FletchFan · 29/11/2025 23:29

So annoying. I'm a size 10-12 and now I have to select 8-10 and 10-12 so end up with so much stuff that I know wouldn't fit.

To be fair as a seller it’s a right faff to have to recheck every listing and they haven’t sent out any comms letting people know, or if they have I’ve not seen it.

YourWinter · 30/11/2025 00:23

I’ve gone right off it. The size categories are mad, and so many sellers who do photograph the label have listed it in quite the wrong size bracket (I search for a 16 coat, so the bracket is 16-18, yet lots of size 12 and even 10). And when I’ve messaged the seller to point it out, I’ve had some quite rude responses. I’ve withdrawn most of my £150 balance and just have about £10 left to spend. I’m not listing anything again as almost everything had offers for half price or less, even listings for £2 or £3, and it costs me more to drive to a shop to drop off than I’m making! I’m back to buying from eBay, and the shop for a local charity gets all the cast-offs.

umberpigeon · 30/11/2025 00:57

I’ve just looked up the reviews for the app in the App Store and thought they looked suspiciously high. Turns out most of the reviews are for items people have bought through Vinted, not for the app itself! The ones that are for the app though are all one star…

Whennovemberends · 30/11/2025 00:58

Same, I wanted to buy a Christmas jumper. The prices on vinted are almost the same as brand new in the shops! Then I eventually find one just to find out when I click it it's size 14 not 12. Wasted my time
