I’ve fallen out of love with Vinted

Since the ladies size debacle I’ve completely lost interest in Vinted. I’ve gone from buying 3-4 things a week to absolutely nothing, all due to the change in sizes descriptions.

Today I thought I’d have a go and look for a jacket, I’m a standard uk12, but now I have to search 10-12, everything I liked was a 10, or a tiny size that’s ended up in the category since the changes.

I really can’t be bothered with it anymore and I’m sad about that as I had so many great purchases over the years.

Anyone else also given up on Vinted?

OP posts:

Yes!!! I have lost 7 stone this year with a fair more to lose so I had been getting bits then selling back on but last few weeks garbage really disheartening

mommatoone · 30/11/2025 11:44

Me too. It's absolutely shite! Why change it . It was perfectly OK before. I'm like you OP, I'd but things weekly, but not anymore. Let's hope their sales figures of late will reflect this and they will go back to how things were.

Can I ask all of you to message Vinted and tell them how bad it is please. The only way we can get them to do something about it is enough people complain.

Done this already. I do hope they change back as I loved Vinted but I can only think that for some reason they want to kill it off in the UK. If they’d consulted literally any UK users at all in advance of making the sizing change they would have been told that people would hate it and stop using the app. However if it’s not deliberate sabotage hopefully the massive drop in sales will force a rethink.

BrightMintTea · 30/11/2025 11:57

Same here, the new sizing has totally put me off. It used to be so easy to find things, now it feels like a faff and I’ve barely bought anything since.

meghansturkey · 30/11/2025 12:26

I'm a seller not a buyer and things have really dropped off this past month. I was thinking people might be waiting for payday but it hasn't improved. There are so many sales on in shops right now to compete with. I bumped and did a make me an offer last night and sold something just to get it off my hands - brand new with labels. There's some hideous crappy stuff on e bay. I believe that in general people are buying for Christmas but in general in town it seems that there is so much stuff that people are feeling the heat economically.

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 30/11/2025 12:27

I am Exactly the same. My problem is I’m a 10/12. So have to tick both boxes. It’s taken an age to find anything in the right size.

I also found it crap before as they equated for example a 12 with a large, and so on - when usually, an item labelled L is more likely to be a 14 in most brands (for UK buyers). They just shouldn't bunch anything together at all. Just list 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 etc and also S, M L etc. so people can just list what's on the label - and ideally also give basic measurements.

More generally I'm always amazed at how many website have terrible search functions. It really can't be that hard to program a useful search-a-database function. I often find it more effective to google the thing I want and the name of the shop.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 30/11/2025 12:51

Same here, it’s ruined for me now. Hoping something else will come along to fill the gap.

Namethattune25 · 30/11/2025 12:53

I’m over the moon with the changes. A medium is never a size 10 so I found it frustrating that that’s how the categories were set up. It’s brilliant now for me.

SwedishEdith · 30/11/2025 13:00

I'm new to it but did list a few things to sell before the sizing change. It really annoyed me then as a 12 needed to be listed as a L rather than M. Made no sense. Early days for me. Not a lot listed, some with no views at all 😀 and some sold really quickly - one for more than I bought it for. I always put a photo of the size label, thought that's just good practice.

EstherGreenwood63 · 30/11/2025 13:38

Not just you OP. It's utter bollocks now.

reversingdumptruckwithnotyreson · 30/11/2025 13:46

Me too, it completely ruined my feed and I’m sorry but the new sizing just doesn’t make sense.

A size 16 isn’t a Zara L. They’re not the same thing at all. I don’t understand where they got the new sizing system from.

outofofficeagain · 30/11/2025 13:55

I’ve found a few bargains of things labelled the wrong size, so now click large and XXL just to check.

Do you think weight loss injections have had an impact on Vinted?

I’ve gone from an 18 to a 16 so selling my old clothes and buying a smaller size. There are loads of listings which say they are selling due to weight loss and I think that is also probably pushing prices down.

There are hundreds of Scamp & Dude dresses for sale for example, half the price of what they would have been previously

LivingDeadGirlUK · 30/11/2025 13:58

I just search for a 16 like normal, people write the actual size in the description and the search engine picks that up.

ilovecardigans · 30/11/2025 14:16

Another ex-Vinted fan here. I made some great purchases and sold a few items of clothing & books last year, but had some issues with purchases failing last year. My account was debited for the fails and then immediately recredited. Or so I thought...

After not buying or selling anything for nearly a year, I had a clear out at the end of this summer and sold about £20 worth of clothing. It wasn't until I came to check my credit balance at the end of September and discovered that I'd unwittingly been sitting on a negative balance in my account since the previous year and my (admittedly small) sales credit had been wiped out. Looking back at my transaction history I found that four of the purchase fail debits last September hadn't been credited back, causing the negative balance.

So basically, Vinted nicked the proceeds of my recent sales! I raised a complaint, but no response after 6 weeks. Told them if they didn't sort it within the next 2 weeks I would delete my account and the app. Still no response.

So this and the story about that poor woman being threatened by some arsewipe Vinted seller has resulted in Vinted having one less user of their shitty platform. Their customer 'service' is execrable and their duty of care towards their users non-existent. Fuck them.

ilovecardigans · 30/11/2025 14:18

The sizing issue would also have been another nail in the Vinted coffin for me.

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/11/2025 14:24

I’ve only used Vinted for a few months and now the owners have broken it 😬😵‍💫

Jadebear · 30/11/2025 14:28

First of all I had a few postage issues, which was really frustrating. And Vinted’s customer service was shite. It could in fact be re-named to total-lack-of-customer-service.
And now the sizing issue means I’m not getting any views / buyers AT ALL. And equally as a user, it’s a terrible experience.
WTF were they thinking??? 🤯🤯🤯

Peachbubble · 30/11/2025 14:53

Another leaving Vinted here.

Just so many issues, mislabelled parcels that Vinted makes you wait for 30+ days whilst they "investigate", hoping you'll forget about it and they can keep the money they'd have to reimburse both seller and buyer.
We've had "your earnings may take a while to show" debacle, meaning another nice bit of interest for Vinted. Then the re-sizing issue we were all supposed to work out ourselves without being notified.
And there are still sellers, that haven't updated their sizings, even though they've been "last seen" 10 minutes ago. I only buy if I can see the size label and the fabric content - why this isn't compulsory I don't know.
Coupled with the appalling "have a nice day!" customer service, I'm not using it after (hopefully) a couple of Christmassy items have sold.
Back to ebay!

Thundertoast · 30/11/2025 15:43

I honestly dont understand why they've done it, their sales must be through the floor. I've bought and sold thousands of pounds worth of stuff on Vinted, mostly selling, and since the change I've not used it - I've gone to look for a couple of things and given up.

crazeekat · 30/11/2025 16:12

I’m the same tits way too much hard work, no enjoyment now in it and I was a regular seller and buyer. Loved it. Now it’s just all wrong and I can r e bothered with the searching for the right sizes, the USA sizes makes it even worse and i can’t trust it so bye from me. Such a pity. They must be noticing a huge drop in sales for sure

TwistedWonder · 30/11/2025 16:16

The other thing that’s driving me mad is the searches are automatically listed by relevance rather than newest first.

So every time I use my saved searches, i have to reshuffle the order which I’ve never had to do before.

Ok it’s minor but it’s a pointless change

x12 · 30/11/2025 16:22

I didn’t know about the size changes as a seller

IDontHateRainbows · 30/11/2025 16:49

Going against the grain here as I've just been to pick up 2 nearly new river island cardis from the pick up point for £30, perfect fit and condition. They'd be around £60 each in store.

Also found a sparkly jumper that id bought many years ago and was very dear to me before dying, found the exact same one in near perfect condition for £20 which has made me very happy.

All for less than the cost of one new item.

Yes its a gamble with sizing but when it pays off it's worth it.

bumblebee1000 · 30/11/2025 17:41

always found the search facility quite useless...lots of items pop up which are totally not in the search category. probably done to make you browse extra stuff.
