I’ve fallen out of love with Vinted

Since the ladies size debacle I’ve completely lost interest in Vinted. I’ve gone from buying 3-4 things a week to absolutely nothing, all due to the change in sizes descriptions.

Today I thought I’d have a go and look for a jacket, I’m a standard uk12, but now I have to search 10-12, everything I liked was a 10, or a tiny size that’s ended up in the category since the changes.

I really can’t be bothered with it anymore and I’m sad about that as I had so many great purchases over the years.

Anyone else also given up on Vinted?

The other thing that’s driving me mad is the searches are automatically listed by relevance rather than newest first.

So every time I use my saved searches, i have to reshuffle the order which I’ve never had to do before.

Ok it’s minor but it’s a pointless change

I agree - that seems to have changed a couple of days ago. I had hoped it was a glitch but it’s still not resolved… very annoying!

Rednotdead · 30/11/2025 18:12

I’m the same, used to love browsing through Vinted but it’s a lucky dip now, sizes are all wrong and the sellers can’t be arsed to put the measurements on for the buyers, one said something along the lines that she was incredulous that buyers wanted measurements, “it’s Vinted, not Selfridges”! WTAF???

Wheelskeepturning · 30/11/2025 18:25

Another one who will be deleting my account once I've had payment for a couple of items currently in the post. It's just not worth the hassle as either a buyer or seller anymore.

Carpedimum · 30/11/2025 18:35

I’ve been selling stuff on eBay again, it’s so much easier by comparison to Vinted. I initially returned because I was fed up of the aggressive messages on Vinted, people applying pressure to get you to sell to them for next to nothing.

cannaethink · 30/11/2025 18:44

The sizing works better for me now so they’ve not lost any sales from me!
Depending on the brand I’m either a S, 8 or 10. Before the change I had to select S/8 and M/10 and then sift out the Ms. Much less sifting now.
I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything that didn’t specify the size in the description or title or photos.

mummybearSW19 · 30/11/2025 18:54

I’m going to try selling on Olio. Seems to be a new function.
I was always crap at selling on eBay.

now Vinted has blown itself up I don’t really want to try there and find I’m crap at it again!!!!

anyone sold on olio?

Cyclingmummy1 · 30/11/2025 18:54

My sales have fallen off a cliff edge.

Pastelpoppy · 30/11/2025 19:02

Yes agree and does anyone else find that things are just so expensive on there these days? I used to use it for bargains but now I rarely really find them. Any item I’m interested in are the same price or very closed to retail price, even if item is still available, what’s the point!

outofofficeagain · 30/11/2025 19:15

I saw a jumper on there today which was currently selling for less in the Black Friday sale.

always found the search facility quite useless...lots of items pop up which are totally not in the search category. probably done to make you browse extra stuff.

I'd say if it's done deliberately, it's more to make you seize on something that looks half decent for fear of not being able to find anyting else like it. Compared to ebay, the search facility is prehistoric.

Daftypants · 30/11/2025 19:19

My daughter has the Vinted App , she’s bought and sold .
I realised that Vinted had changed the sizing so I helped her go on and change all the sizes but nothing has sold for ages .
She sold a few things for me too but it got that buyers wanted really good items of clothing for next to nothing so I’d rather give to the charity shop now .
Shame , because I’ve some absolutely lovely WS skirts that just don’t fit me now .

IDontHateRainbows · 30/11/2025 19:21

i sell beauty stuff as a pro seller on Ebay and only started selling on Vinted reluctantly earlier this year after the buyer protection fee fiasco (didn't affect me as a pro seller but drove all the buyers away). I'm delighted that it's now Vinted's turn to be shite and customers are coming back to Ebay. So much more civilised - I can price items accurately by using proper filtering and best of all only accept offers above a certain amount. Fed up of barely anyone on vinted paying what the item is priced at, so sellers add on a few quid and buyers then come in with preposterous lowballs. Who's got time for that? I still list on there as I list everything on both sites, but whereas in the summer I was selling 80% of stuff on vinted and 20% ebay, it's now shifted the other way thankfully. Vinted is set up for haggling but not for serious sellers.

Wearescrewed · 30/11/2025 19:30

I’ve gone off it but mainly because I find sellers are often over pricing items. Quite often I see things cheaper in the sale, or for a high price item, say a Dry Robe, maybe £20/30 cheaper than new. Anything I load is usually considerably less than bought new as I see it as bit of extra income, for things might have taken to charity shops. Although I take plenty to charity also!
I agree, it’s much harder to search now and haven’t bought anything for a while.

It's a vicious circle as buyers are offering really low amounts even on reasonably priced stuff so seller ups the price to account for low offers, I don't think many sellers on vinted expect their item to go at the price shown these days, it's all a bit of a shit show to be fair.

DiscoBeat · 30/11/2025 19:37

I hate the new sizing on there! Just let people list the size on the label, be it 10, or 12, or Medium if that's what's on the label.

sharkstale · 30/11/2025 19:38

Yes I find it really difficult to find my size. I've taken to messaging sellers to ask for the size on the label, resulting in many sellers telling me they listed it as something different and didn't realise it had changed. Only really been persistent with it as have an upcoming holiday, but it has been an annoyance so may not bother after this

ThatCyanCat · 30/11/2025 19:46

It's good if you know the brand and its sizing extremely well... I've used it to get stuff I already have in different colours, or outdoor gear in brands I know well. Good for fancy dress and easy kids' stuff too.

But it needs to be used sparingly. I've made too many impulse buys because they're so cheap and ended up with old, worn stuff that's just depressing. Could have bought a couple of brand new, expensive and high quality stuff with that money. It's a no returns, anonymous car boot sale and 90% of the stuff and the sellers reflect that.

Agree. I recently sold a brand new Never Fully Dressed with tags dress that’s still for sale on the brands website for £129. I listed for £59 so half price - there were two others selling same dress - one also new with tags up for £85 the other worn once up for £75.

I was getting offers of £30/35

I did sell for £49 in the end but definitely buyers want something decent for peanuts

I know it's a nice brand, but it's still a lot for something you can't return or try on first.

Hohumdedum · 30/11/2025 20:14

I haven't fallen out of love yet, as I mostly buy and sell kids stuff which remains unaffected as far as I know. But I have definitely searched for and bought far fewer women's clothes this month.

I put my page on holiday mode until this week in the hope that the change would be reversed, but now I've updated every listing to state size in the heading. Was a pita for 50+ items.

Redburnett · 30/11/2025 20:34

I have a £5 item (£6 with fee) on Vinted that has had about 90 views and been favourited 10 times, but hasn't sold. I don't think I understand how Vinted works!

Send an offer to the ten who have favourited at £4.50.

HRTQueen · 30/11/2025 20:53

I received a long notice explaining the changes today 🙄 What is the point isn’t so we shall look at more items and possibly buy more

I will now only buy of if the seller has mentioned the size or taken a picture of it

People favourite things as it's so confusing to find something you've seen again. It's not like ebay where you can be fairly certain of finding it again if you go back later. Favourite doesn't mean 'I want to buy this' it means 'I may, just may be interested in this but I'm bookmarking it as otherwise it will disappear back into the see of chaos that is vinted'

Betsylee · 30/11/2025 21:51

I can't stand it now, can never find the size I want. I listed a few things earlier in the week and then thought can't be bothered with this, deleted them all and took a huge bag to the charity shop.
I can't understand why they've altered the sizing, I heard was to allow the US to use the site but still can't understand why it's so difficult to use for sizing now. They must be losing so many sales.
