I’ve fallen out of love with Vinted

Since the ladies size debacle I’ve completely lost interest in Vinted. I’ve gone from buying 3-4 things a week to absolutely nothing, all due to the change in sizes descriptions.

Today I thought I’d have a go and look for a jacket, I’m a standard uk12, but now I have to search 10-12, everything I liked was a 10, or a tiny size that’s ended up in the category since the changes.

I really can’t be bothered with it anymore and I’m sad about that as I had so many great purchases over the years.

Anyone else also given up on Vinted?

I wondered why I ordered a top in a 12 and it arrived but was a 10. I just thought it was me having made a mistake but I did think it odd.

Franjipanl8r · 30/11/2025 04:26

I’ve always preferred eBay.

FlappyFish · 30/11/2025 04:38

I have stopped using it. I’m glad as it was far too addictive. The sizing filters are useless. It was so easy before! Now they expect me to trawl through four sizes.

Nellodee · 30/11/2025 06:33

I’ve not used it since the sizing change. They don’t deserve to have a profitable business after the contempt they’ve shown their customers.

Same. I’ve stuck with eBay.

AppleBowl · 30/11/2025 06:43

It has made it impossible to find anything to buy in the right size, and it's maddening as a seller too. I've corrected all my listings but nothing was moving or even getting views anymore. I've halved the prices, just wanting to get stuff out the way before Christmas and still nothing - I can only assume a lot of buyers have given up on the platform. I ordered a skirt over a week ago that hasn't been dispatched, and other items have been really slow. I think I'll just take a big bag to the charity shop and leave it a while to see if it recovers.

noonames · 30/11/2025 06:57

I’ve been really into Vinted for the last year or so and have bought and sold loads from there but have also gone right off it. I still have a few things listed - those who use it, what’s eBay like for sellers, what’s the difference?

Brendathebear · 30/11/2025 07:12

Ive had a couple of great buys from vinted but tbh most of it has hasnt fitted. Im a classic size 10 but a dress i bought the other day was teeny and my size 6 daughter couldnt get it on!

Swimmingbackwards · 30/11/2025 07:14

It's a mess at the moment. Things are listed in the wrong category as the size bands have moved twice and things are all over the place. I've looked a few times this weekend and given up.

PersephoneParlormaid · 30/11/2025 07:16

I don’t buy, just sell, but I’ve stopped due to the ridiculously low prices good stuff was going for. I’d rather take it to the charity shop.

Wouldwoodknot · 30/11/2025 07:31

I have no idea why they didn’t just update the descriptions of existing sizes to include an additional description of American equivalents, instead of putting UK buyers/sellers through this faff and applying the changes to existing listings. Grouping sizes together seems utterly pointless too, and the way they’ve organised it is irritating (I’m a 10-12 so would be searching across 8-10 and 12-14).

I used to really enjoy browsing on there and loved being able to pick up the items I wanted second-hand. Having to click on each item to see if the the seller has described the size (most don’t) then scroll through photos to see if the label has been photographed, only to find that most of the results aren’t the size I was looking for anyway, has made the whole thing too time-consuming and annoying. I used to browse two or three times a week, but haven’t opened the app more than once since these changes came in.

Lovetosurf · 30/11/2025 07:31

Yep, my last couple of buys have been messed up:

Seller forgot to post the item.

Was anyone expecting a pair of The Shirt Company deep dusky pink/burgundy satin wide leg trousers in a size 14?
If so, I have them. Appears to be an issue with courier mixing the labels up at the locker.
I'd ordered a yellow Alpaca/wool tank top in a size 10. No idea where that is - Vinted doesn't seem to know either!

Franjipanl8r · 30/11/2025 04:26

I’ve always preferred eBay.

I did until they tried to become Vinted.

I didn’t want to use Vinted so stuck with eBay - once they changed I just went to Vinted as why pay more with eBay.

Maybe I’ll go back now as these changes are annoying and I wasn’t notified about the clothing size changes so now I have to edit all my listings which is a right faff as I have over a hundred items listed at the moment 😑

x12 · 30/11/2025 07:43

Changingplace · 29/11/2025 23:31

To be fair as a seller it’s a right faff to have to recheck every listing and they haven’t sent out any comms letting people know, or if they have I’ve not seen it.

I have a load of listings on there & my sales have just stopped. Could it be this sizing change? No idea about it, do I need to rejig all my listings? What a pain in the arse.

x12 · 30/11/2025 07:50

I just went and looked at a one of my listings & a size 12 top says XL size 20-22 on it?!

Mariammaom · 30/11/2025 07:50

Has anyone else noticed that you can no longer save a search with ‘newest first’? Very annoying as I like to see the most recent additions to my searches.

PuppyMonkey · 30/11/2025 07:50

I bought two things yesterday for the first time in several weeks. Only because I could see the label and the size. They’re both Sainsbury Tu so I figured they’d be okay. Will see if the parcels actually turn up!

LilyCanna · 30/11/2025 07:50

I have bought loads from Vinted as it used to be so easy to use - I enjoyed browsing - and it’s so much better for the environment than buying new. I’m really hoping they change the sizes back as I’m unlikely to use it again now they’ve ruined it, if they don’t.

85reasons · 30/11/2025 07:57

Completely agree. First of all the way they introduced the change was just bafflingly idiotic - no notice at all, suddenly everything was listed incorrectly; and only a couple of days later did they belatedly send a message informing everyone.

Then the change itself is just ridiculously irritating. In this move to be 'inclusive' by - as far as I can tell - changing the sizes to be more like the new H&M sizes which doesn't try to tell a UK size 14 person (which is me) that they are 'extra large', they have now made me need to include two size categories when searching for clothing. This includes a size M, in case the seller has accurately used the Vintage version of sizing which means a 14 is a medium, or size L, which means the seller has used the item's categorisation which in most cases DOES reflect a size 14. So I'm now trawling through items that are size 12, 14, 16 and 18 in order to be able to find what I want. And only if I know the brand's sizing and the seller has shown the actual label will I buy it.

I would love to know how this has affected their sales since the change, and wonder if they'll abandon this move. Surely profits have fallen off a cliff edge?

Tiddlywinkly · 30/11/2025 08:01

I was new to Vinted this April and sold a whole load of stuff then had a break until recently. I'd uninstalled the app as I'd been buying stuff when the point was to declutter.

I had some more things to sell and started listing items and immediately noticed the sizing changes. It's created a lot of extra work answering questions about whether an item fits, 'more like an 8 or a 10'. I started putting the size in the title and giving measurements.

I sell mostly Sezane items and I was surprised by the immediate low-ball offers this time around. Not sure what's happening there. I've also noticed the huge influx in fakes. I reported one in May and Vinted really don't care. I know the Sezane 'back catalogue', but I guess these sellers rely on new customers not knowing what they are looking for. The fakes all seem to be 'new with tags' and around £45.

I haven't bought anything, so I mirror other people on here. Not great Vinted!

Yeah because they’ve automatically updated everything to their new stupid sizing groupings it’s made loads of listings wrong, and it seems to be down to individual sellers to correct which is so annoying since they’ll have been right when first listed.

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 30/11/2025 08:04

Oh! So that's what's going on?
I have a sweater in my favourites listed size 16, but the Seller has added clear photos of the tab showing it's a 12.

Glad I didn't point it out to her now.

Goldenphoenix · 30/11/2025 08:05

The sizing change they implemented has ruined it for women's shopping. An idiotic change.

I used to spend a fortune on Vinted, it was my first choice whenever I needed clothing, but it's now a really frustrating experience browsing for anything so I don't bother anymore.

Changingplace · 30/11/2025 08:05

I don’t even know how they can put it right, even if they changed the sizing again they’ve messed up thousands of listings so it’s a complete mess!

x12 · 30/11/2025 08:05

@Changingplace so annoying as you say particularly as I hate the way every edit brings you back to the top of your listings & you can’t search your listings (unless I’m doing something wrong).
