Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

I have just messaged them.sayingball my search algorithms are out but worse all my listed items in the wrong category. Ive said if I have to register all my items I will try Ebay and drop instead.

Perhaps if everyone messages them the same they'll realise what a royal fuck up this is.

OddBoots · 10/11/2025 10:14

I m updating my listings and they are all showing as 'processing' now so I think the site is seizing up with lots of people doing the same.

IrisPallida · 10/11/2025 10:15

Always include a photo of the size label if you are selling, and never buy anything unless the seller has included a photo of the size label.

It is the only answer. But yes, searching for items of a given size is now just frustrating and miserable, as 50% will be a size up or down.

God, Vinted have fucked up.

Comedycook · 10/11/2025 10:16

Just was browsing on there and everything recommended to me is now a size 20-22... I usually look at things which are a size 14-16

battenburgbaby · 10/11/2025 10:16

Frankly it did need updating, but properly, not fucking it up any further!

I'm always having to message sellers that have just gone with Vinted's category of "M/10" to clarify whether what they are selling is a size medium or a size 10 as generally those aren't the same things.

Sellers - it makes life much easier if you either photograph the size label or put the details in the description.

ThirdStorm · 10/11/2025 10:16

GiveMeWordGames · 10/11/2025 10:12

Done! I got an automated response saying it might take longer than normal to get back and please not to repeat message about same issue so I'm going to take a guess that they're getting slammed with complaints. 😁

Good!

DiamandaTheGreat · 10/11/2025 10:18

I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be better long term (as those equivalences now make more sense - it was insane to have Large as 12 for example), but I can see it's incredibly frustrating if you have lots of listings live already.

Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro · 10/11/2025 10:18

Im holding of amending mynlostingsbsize category for now but would suggest maybe make the first linenof any listings to say
Marks And Spencer Size 12.
I was goingbto list a load today I will hold off.
Another thing I always do is photo the size label of the item I sell. Perhaps if listing currently this might be something to do because 2 weeks from now I can see alotnof sizing issues on deliveries and as a seller I want to prove the size was clearly there.

Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro · 10/11/2025 10:19

I really apologis for all my gobbledygook. Im walking fast for the bus.

Flakey99 · 10/11/2025 10:19

Sizing labels have always been ridiculous though and especially silly when some shops do vanity sizing.

What they should ALL do is state the actual bust or waist measurements on a label on a top and waist and hip measurements on a skirt or trouser label.

Then size 40/12 or L becomes completely irrelevant. 🤷🏻‍♀️

UrsulaBelle · 10/11/2025 10:20

Thanks for the heads up. It changed overnight!

TokyoSushi · 10/11/2025 10:20

Total pain, I now only buy off Vinted if I can see the actual size label, otherwise it's pot luck!

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 10:21

Overjoyed to see all my 12/14 sized items listed as XXL this morning. And my items labelled L and prob alt suitable for 12-14 being listed as 16-18. I’ve started updating items because I assumed it was my error and they’re all now stuck in pending. So irritating

Redburnett · 10/11/2025 10:21

Well I am hoping they stick to it, the old sizing system was not fit for purpose in UK. If selling just edit listings to correct size - it only takes seconds. If buying check label photo or avoid buying.

Dahliadaily · 10/11/2025 10:24

All my recommendations are suddenly for clothes far too big for me

IrisPallida · 10/11/2025 10:24

DiamandaTheGreat · 10/11/2025 10:18

But now it is insane to have to be searching all the size 14s when you are looking for size 12 because there is no category for size 12 any longer. Just 12-14. So your search will return 50% items that are the wrong size every single time.

It makes it WORSE. Long term and short term.

TheWorldisGoingMad · 10/11/2025 10:27

drspouse · 10/11/2025 08:54

Yep, here's one of my items. Complete dog's dinner.

Just write label size in the in the first line of the description. T

Always show pictures of both sides of the label; size and material

If you want to save yourself grief, scammers and returns list measurements.

Report the sizing problem to Vinted and state what you feel size options should be. They are always asking for user feedback. They are based in Lithuania, I believe, so may have a different approach to sizing. The more people report and issue, the more likely they may change it.

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 10:28

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 10/11/2025 09:58

What if people buy items and aren’t happy with the sizing? If it had been listed correctly and vinted changed it then surely Vinted should be on the hook for the costs involved?!

They should be, but we know they will not support in anyway. I think this is final nail in the coffin for me selling on Vinted. I hardly buy anything now - only if the seller has put photos which make the sizing explicitly obvious and I know the brand / size from the label.

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 10:30

Redburnett · 10/11/2025 10:21

Well I am hoping they stick to it, the old sizing system was not fit for purpose in UK. If selling just edit listings to correct size - it only takes seconds. If buying check label photo or avoid buying.

Applying this logic unless items have photos of the label they’ll now sit and fester unless the seller goes back and retrospectively adds the detail to the listing.

the current sizing system is just as useless. L does not equate to 16-18.

AllTheChaos · 10/11/2025 10:32

So they’ve switched to 1970s size
measures Without telling anyone?! As someone has mentioned a 30” waist now being listed as a size 16 by Vinted (I remember when sizes went like that: 24” waist = size 10, 26” = 12 etc). I mean, ok, but in that case just ignore the size
label and ask people to put the actual measurements, surely? Otherwise no one will be able to tell anything about the size!

Sealedwithakiss · 10/11/2025 10:35

Yes, luckily I noticed this morning! Everything I had favourite as a large is now listed as 16-18 when I'm a 12. Also when I search it brings up 12s and 14s. I don't want 14s I want 12s only!
This will hopefully encourage sellers to always upload a picture of the label to avoid confusion though

GiveMeWordGames · 10/11/2025 10:37

I got the same silly patronising AI response that pp got which is even stupider for me since I'm not a seller. I responded along those lines.

IrisPallida · 10/11/2025 10:37

The problem is that people searching for an item using the size category will not even see your listing with the 'label size in the description' unless it is put in the same size category as the search.

This is a huge fuck up.

MoonChild111 · 10/11/2025 10:37

Thanks for the heads up Gargoyles 🙏🏻

Why are Vinted always messing around with things? They should concentrate on improving their sh*t show of customer service 🤣

AllTheChaos · 10/11/2025 10:38

Thinking about it, I really wish the UK would adopt the European measurement system as ours is mad. I have clothes with the same measurements but different brands, dating from the 1960s to now, whose labels claim to be everything from
size 2 to size 16!
