Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

Also just be careful if tweeting about this. I had a reply from an account that looked like Vinted asking for my name, address and email but when I looked at the bio there was only one follower so clearly a scam account.

In fairness, neither does the UK sizing system where one can be simultaneously four different sizes in the same brand, and even more when you go across brands 🤦‍♀️ Men’s clothes don’t have this issue though!

Yes but Vinted are now compounding an already crazy sizing system by adding their own nonsensical interpretation / banding into the mix. So now you need to translate your body size to the brand as if buying direct and then translate that into Vinted’s own crazy sizing system - which, by the way, they change overnight and without warning or consultation and then retrospectively apply to every single listing

I think this will be better for the buyer in the long run but not helpful for anyone currently selling stuff.

PuppyMonkey · 10/11/2025 12:22

Lordy - all my size 12s have been relabelled UK size 20-22. Have changed iti think. I’m trying to fill in the feedback form but nothing is coming up for me to add my comments to.

It’s not though. If I’m looking for a size 12 I will get double the number of search results and have to wade through loads of size 14s that I don’t want to see! I’ll have to go into every listing to check what size it actually is. They’ve made it almost unusable. It was bad enough before but this has made it far worse.

I was just coming on to ask if this had only happened to me 😞 . I'm looking for size 26 and only size 18-20 is coming up due to resizing. Nightmare!

TiredCatLady · 10/11/2025 12:31

Thanks for the heads up OP. Just put mine into holiday mode as I don’t have the time to sort it out right now.

I honestly don’t know why I’m still bothering with Vinted. I’ve branded stuff on for pennies, list regularly to feed the algorithm and I haven’t sold anything in months. Not to mention the bloody scammers.

Catwoman8 · 10/11/2025 12:51

Just deleted my listings as I cant be bothered sorting though them , every listing has converted into the incorrect size! I didn't even receive an update from vinted to make me aware, only found this out through social media.

This is going to cause chaos . I don't know why they cant just have the individual size brackets 8,10 etc, plus a M, L etc then everything can be listed correctly per the label.

mjuser · 10/11/2025 12:52

I have just been through 80 listings to adjust the sizing to the new system. What a ball-ache.

I am in the 1% of sellers who takes a photo of all measurements. Shoulders, bust, waist, hips, sleeve length, front rise, back rise, leg length, inside leg etc. EVERYTHING. But I still get loads of messages from people who haven't read the description, or looked at any photos except the first one. So annoying. Sometimes they do it after they've actually bought something too...

mjuser · 10/11/2025 12:57

Even more ridiculous, if you click on the Vinted size guide, they suggest a 16-18 would be a 31-32" waist 😂nope.

Thank you for taking the trouble to give details of garment measurements. I’ve only bought from Vinted 3 times and, given the huge discrepancies and inconsistencies in sizing, even within a single brand, I’ve been surprised and dismayed at how few sellers do so.

I realise it doesn’t change how the search facility interprets sizes but it’s still appreciated.

OverNotOver · 10/11/2025 13:05

I have size 20 dresses which are now listed as a 40-42. How can some things have only changed by 1 size and others by 5?! I’ve just put my account to holiday mode, I’ll worry about it later…

DiscoBeat · 10/11/2025 13:09

Why can't they just accept the bloody sizes written on the labels?!

Fortheloveofgodwhy · 10/11/2025 13:11

Oh FFS all my size 10 items are now listed as the wrong size... i'm chaning them to 'other' they all have the size in the title and a picture of the size tag.... wtf did they do that..

CareerCoachingAdvice · 10/11/2025 13:11

Just came here to see if this was being discussed (sorry haven't RTFL). What a shitshow. It's still so completely wrong and confusing. Why on earth can't they have the same system as Ebay which offers either S,M,L,XL etc or 10,12,14,16 etc?! Have they spoken to any of their users about this ahead of implementing it?

Ginnnny · 10/11/2025 13:13

I've just had to sit and amend all my items for sale as they were now showing as 20-22 UK. what a piss take!

PositivityVibes · 10/11/2025 13:18

I thought it was me!

I also seem to be getting kids aged 6/7, thinking it’s cause I’m shoe size 7 and it’s a glitch - utterly shambolic

SilenceInside · 10/11/2025 13:18

I am struggling to search and find items in my size, 14. When I choose the category "12-14" all I get is size 8/10 and 12s, hardly a 14 to be found. Previously all my searches would return the size I actually wanted. I can't believe how shit they've made the search experience for buyers.

Scully01 · 10/11/2025 12:20

How? I am a size 10 in most modern clothes, and fit a M. Now my home page only shows size 8 and S (no idea why the 10s aren’t showing up?) but if I switch to the next band up everything is too big!

They’ve screwed up the buyer search experience. Why not just let sellers list brand and size, and let buyers search by that? That’s how most of us deal with the crazy size ranges across different brands, we learn what size fits in different shops!

I’ll bet not. Scale-ups shed a lot of design and research types after the pandemic - now it’s all product managers and engineers shipping changes as fast as possible. I’ll bet there’s a “standardising the database across the entire multi-country market” argument behind all this. But the problem is that all the European countries use different sizing systems. So whose was this change based on?

I just can't think of a single argument against this - it's just common sense. I want to search for the size on the label, not a range of sizes, at least 50% of which won't fit me!

CreepingCrone · 10/11/2025 13:38

Yes! I've reported it to Vinted, surely it's a bug?!?! All my size 14 searches are showing as 20-22, 22-24!!! Ridiculous

i think for most UK brands the size guides equate S to 8-10 and M to 12-14. So I think the change brings Vinted more in line with typical sizing.

I wonder if it’s something to do with their algorithm- presumably it’s much easier to serve up content in broad categories
