Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

How will that work with postage, on ebay its 30£ postage for items of clothing

Apparently Vinted are covering the import VAT during the roll out and it won't cost more but it doesn't seem you can opt out of it or disable international listings....

Maybe I'm missing something but can't see what's good about any of these changes? I don't want to buy and sell to the US and I can no longer find anything in my size! What a shame - I loved Vinted as it was😫

SquishyGloopyBum · 15/11/2025 09:11

Oh heck. Can we opt out of selling internationally? EBay let you. I don’t want to start doing that. Agree with pp that it’s hardly sustainable. I also don’t want to have to search through to find IK items for sale. Urgh.

So I am a size 8, if it says 8-10 how the chuff do I know if its

People have to say in the description or show the label now. But It does mean you need to click on it and look.

LouLuBelles · 16/11/2025 13:45

Just doing some browsing this morning as a buyer. What a disaster! There is suddenly an influx of plus-size sizing. Brands like Zara and Rixo suddenly showing up as sz 18 for their Large. There’s just no way that’s the case. And XL for some brands are now showing as sizes 22 or 24 and I have even seen a Rixo shirt as a size 32. Wth? An absolute sh*t show. Yet they’re pushing ahead with selling UK to US? When literally no one wants this. It will kill the simplicity of Vinted.

You click on each item, scour the title and description for the actual size, look to see if there's a picture of a label, get frustrated by how time consuming that is, combined with the disappointment of discovering the item is a 10, try a few more times, give up.

BeautifulBirds · 16/11/2025 21:12

Just looked this evening, not gonna bother buying anymore. Too time consuming to try and work out the size of an item.

YouHaveAnArse · 17/11/2025 15:34

I'm a 16-18 in most places, with a 36HH chest that means I often have to size up with tops made from non-stretch fabric.

I have Joanie jumpers in size S, M and L in my wardrobe, and T-shirts in a L. The more oversized ones would easily fit a 20-22 in an XL, and that's what their size chart says.

Keepthecat · 17/11/2025 20:00

Oh! I thought this was something I had done! I started getting recommendations for size 24-26 and 28-30. I'm a 16. I need to go back and redo my saved searches then!
For sellers, all you can really do is be sure to show the maker's size label or, if you have time, add actual measurement armpit to armpit to the description.

SilenceInside · 17/11/2025 22:09

@Keepthecat it helps if you put the size in the title, as when browsing on the website it shows up immediately when people hover over your items. And then as you say include a picture of the label showing the size.

Cyclingmummy1 · 17/11/2025 22:25

Spent the best part of an hour correcting sizes, had items deleted as 'duplicates', and no reponse to my complaint except 'these photos have been used before'. What a farce!

Greenship · 18/11/2025 16:52

Has anyone worked out how to opt out of selling internationally? I really don't want to do this, as there's a huge environmental cost to shipping items around the world.

Hmm I can't see whether you can disable it for selling but you can't for buying according to this bit from the update they sent out....

AndeanFlamingo · 18/11/2025 17:28

I also don't want to sell (or buy) internationally. I'm really hoping it's possible to opt out for selling.

AndeanFlamingo · 18/11/2025 17:29

Just saw @itsnothingoriginal 's post. Looks like I might be going back to Ebay then!

SilenceInside · 18/11/2025 17:38

I think I will cancel any sales that are from the US, if that ever happens. I just don't really believe that someone in the US is going to want my second hand clothes, it just seems such an odd thing to contemplate doing.

I completely agree!! Seems really weird for them
to not just open up a Vinted for /within the US in the same way they did here. I can’t imagine a woman in upstate New York buying some lightly used F&F trousers or a bundle of second hand babygros.

CharlotteLightandDark · 18/11/2025 17:57

Gap in the market for a UK only vinted type app then - let’s get on it, anyone here a developer??

HumBumBum · 18/11/2025 18:08

Can you imagine how long the shipping will take from bloody America as well, it’ll be 3 weeks to get a second hand t-shirt that’s been flown 1000‘s of miles because apparently Vinted is more sustainable. Bonkers.

YouHaveAnArse · 18/11/2025 18:45

TBF, there are clothes I've bought in the US that I'd happily replace on Poshmark (the US version of Vinted) if it actually posted here. But that's a very niche use, most US buyers don't know our brands and especially how those brands size their clothes, and vice-versa.

I also forsee American buyers not realising that our size 16 is their size 12, or that we have different sizing for shoes, and complaining that none of their items fit properly because they were 'misdescribed'. (This used to happen a lot when I sold items on FB groups that had users from both the US and the UK, I'd always double-check they knew what size the garment was to be on the safe side!)

Ah yes that's what I will do in that case. Not going to use Vinted any more, but I still have a couple of items up that I will see if I can sell before closing my account. Astonished that they are seemingly so uninterested in customer feedback.

SaddlebagSal · 18/11/2025 21:36

I don’t know what proportion of UK transactions make up Vinted’s business, so whether it’s significant overall. But surely from a U.K. perspective the sizing change alongside the expansion into the US market without the facility of buyers or sellers to filter by location is a monumental, business killing cockup?

ContentedAlpaca · 18/11/2025 21:49

itsnothingoriginal · 18/11/2025 17:28

Hmm I can't see whether you can disable it for selling but you can't for buying according to this bit from the update they sent out....

So to decide whether something is suitable, as well as scouring the listing to check it's my size I'm also going to have to clock into the profile of each seller to check which country they are in! Unfamiliar brands should give it away but it's going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack with international listings coming up too

danglethedingle · 19/11/2025 19:49

TBH its all become a bit of a faff, and I don't think I can be arsed with it. I've probably got enough clothes to last me the next 20 years, as long as I don't change lifestyle or weight too significantly.

Magnesiummaggie · 22/11/2025 19:14

Any good alternatives to Vinted? I just can’t find the correct size anymore. I’m getting 12-14 coming up with no idea if they are a 12 or a 14, a 12 will just not fit. It’s become unusable.
