estellacandance · 09/09/2025 10:00

I haven’t seen a princessing thread for ages.

I feel like my self care has been sidelined this year.
My skin, weight and mental health have suffered the most.

So my list to prioritise:
Bed by 11, sleep by midnight
Remove make up at night
Night cream/retinol
Use my LED machines!
Hyaluronic serum in the morning
More frequent & thorough teethbrushing & use whitener.
Have water with me all the time
Take vitamins/supplements with my breakfast.
Daily stretches/yoga inc breath work
Outdoors every day, more forest bathing/blue space.
Drink green tea
Daily smoothie, raw veg & more fruit.
Weekly coconut hair mask.
Pelvic floor exercises 3 times a day
Morning Pages
Read from a book every evening
Squats amap
DIY mani/pedi inc self reflexology/Shiatsu
Reduce UHP foods/drinks
Daily relaxation/meditation with music/incense

A little late but I'd love to join. I've been in and out of these threads.since the first one. I've managed to add habits from them that have stuck so keen to add some more.
I've always had a good morning and evening skincare routine and never skip. Earlier threads I've been able to add vitamins twice a day. Moisturise whole body every day after bath or shower. Go to bed at 9 asleep by 9.30 as I get up at 5.30 and the best one, picked up reading for pleasure again. Now do 1 or 2 books a week.
My list for this round:

• Track food every day and stick to calories.
• No alcohol
• Blow dry hair after washing
▪︎ Foot cream every day
• paint nails every Sunday and do treatment on Saturdays
• hair treatment weekly
• increase steps, usually manage 3000 but want to consistently do 5000 then once that's done increase again
• go for a walk everyday
• get 30g fibre daily
• increase water from 1 litrr a day to 2 litres

Have sorted underwaer and got rid of what needed so that's sorted. Got 2 new coats. Need to sort out footwear and have a wardrobe clear out.

Love reading everyone's lists. May add some more to mine.

Good evening all,
successes:
. Water
.steps count is higher than i normally do and highger than last year so its a win with only 5,782 (courtesy of Apple health app!)
. A short but good gym session
. Night hair serum (on washed hair after gym)
. technically im in bed before 11pm and im going to read
. vitamins taken in the morning
. “rest” day from active ingredients for my face

Tomorrow i’ll walk 10km for charity
i’ll have a protein shake just before i go (and/or on my return - undecided)
sort out bank stuff for kids
princess my house (aka paint the banister on 1st floor that i sanded 6.months ago!!)

Doseydots · 20/09/2025 09:26

Good morning, still doing well here and feeling rather good, The biggest thing for me is getting to bed earlier and having at least 7 hours sleep. I find that really impacts my day in such a positive way.

good luck with your run @tostaky

welcome @NiceUnusualDifferent I have dipped in and out of these threads before but hoping to stick with this one until the end 🤞

petitpasta · 20/09/2025 19:20

Just made a batch of the winter booster tea. It's really nice and will give me a break from coffee during the day

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/09/2025 22:15

Everything shower this morning :
Shampoo/Conditioner left in with a plastic cap
Body buffing with one of those scrubbing cloths
Face exfoliant - I know lots of people don;t like a physical exfoliant and prefer chemical but the one I use works for my skin.

I am debating buying the Rituals Advent Calendar but not sure I'd use all of it so might see if it reduces in price

Fibre consumption is really good to add to the list. It’s do often forgotten but is to important for our health. I never know how much is in anything. Think I’ve read none of us gets enough fibre!

Yes I read that a while back and as I already track my calories in nutracheck I looked and saw I was not even getting up to 15g of fibre on a good day never mind 30!
I've added chia seeds and almonds to my breakfast and try and add veg at lunch and dinner.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 21/09/2025 18:26

How's everyone's princessing gone over the weekend?
I've managed a walk both days but not hit my target. Did my nails yesterday and did a clear gel top cost this morning so they will last the week. Stuck to my calories but haven't drunk enough water.

Doseydots · 21/09/2025 20:10

I’ve had such a good week and feel so much better. The only thing that lets me down is my 3pm sugar craving.

I will work extra hard this week on not giving in to it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/09/2025 20:31

I did 5,000 steps ( wandering round shopping mall so not high impact but more than I;d usually do on a Sunday )

I used a Molton Brown shower gel as its the weekend ( usually Faith in Nature which is nice but functional)

Need to think of some new goals .

rainbowsandraspberrygin · 21/09/2025 20:42

Sailawaysally · 11/09/2025 09:50

I’m up for this.

I would to lose half a stone before the party season and tone up, so…
Pilates twice a week
Home weights 3 times a week.
More water, less booze and caffeine.
Only buy mince pies, quality street and Christmas snacky bits in December. DO NOT buy in September and then stuff my face for the next 3 months

No gel nails until next year - give my nails a rest, but keep them shaped and polished
Vit d, b, milk thistle and multi vit each day
Take make up off at night. Chuck most of my very old makeup.
Use my skin + me prescription. Don’t just order it and forget about it!
Declutter ( an ongoing project). Get rid of all my size 16’s and baggy/scruffy 14’s. Chuck all shoes/boots that are not comfortable, however pretty they are.

That should do for now…

Do you take a milk thistle supplement? Intrigued!

Winter booster tea?? Please explain! Love a new tea

There's a screen shot further up this thread with the details. Lemon, orange, turmeric, cinnamon, honey, ginger and some other things

GameOfJones · 21/09/2025 22:13

I had a decent weekend. We went on a walk as a family both yesterday and today, just 2 or 3 miles each time but it makes such a difference to how I feel if I get outside.

I had an "everything shower" yesterday including a body scrub, shaving and body lotion. I also filed and painted my nails.

Waitrose were selling a bottle of ginger detox shot style juice. My goodness it's firey but DH and I have both said we'll give it a go and see if we feel any better for it. I've had it for two days now and will report back at some point once I've made my mind up if it's actually helping with anything!

I have been conscious of drinking more water. It's still a work in progress but I've also started having a peppermint tea in the evenings, which I think counts towards my water intake too.

Vitamins is an ongoing issue. I just forget to take them! I think I'm going to put them next to the kettle or something so I take them when I'm making my morning coffee.

I have however been loving reading my book in bed. I changed all the bedding yesterday and added a blanket on top of the duvet so it feels cosy. I actively look forward to going upstairs to do my skincare routine and then read my book for a bit. I'm off to do that right now!

ChiaraMontague · 22/09/2025 08:08

I’d love to join please! I’ve got a few Christmas events that I’d love to look fabulous for 🌟

I’ll have a think about my goals, I’ve got so much stuff I could be using but somehow never seem to get round to it!

LBB2020 · 22/09/2025 11:19

I didn’t have a good week last week so am starting fresh this week!
I’m aiming to:
Stick to around 1500 calories (log calories)
Drink more water
Take daily vitamins and collagen supplements
Exercise at least 3 times a week
Book hygienist appointment and eye test
Wkly “everything shower”
Sort out my wardrobe and make a list of things I want/need for autumn and winter

ChiaraMontague · 22/09/2025 12:16

I love the idea of choosing my outfits for the week ahead on the weekend. I’ll definitely start doing that!

I’m taking Mounjaro and have lost 15kg with another 15kg to go. I’ve got lots of opportunities to declutter my wardrobe as I go and I’m trying not to buy more than is absolutely necessary to keep me going until I get to maintenance.

I might need to revise my idea of what I can get away with though, saw some photos from a couple of weeks ago when I was wearing a t-shirt that i thought was just looking like a relaxed-fit but actually looks unflatteringly baggy and weirdly proportioned.

The things I want to improve on before Christmas:

👑 3l of water minimum every day
👑 hit fibre and protein goals every day
👑 walk outside every day
👑 reduce screen time on phone
👑 bed by 10pm and read a book not my phone to relax
👑 do my proper morning and evening skincare routine every day (not just cleanse-n-forget like most days!)
👑 body lotion every day
👑 floss every day, not just when I remember 😇
👑 at-home weights workout twice a week (adding to my weekly PT session; yoga class and Pilates class)
👑 actually use the bloody expensive Philips Lumea that I bought years ago!
👑 Everything Day on Sundays : workout followed by weekly at-home pamper session (facial; foot scrub and mask; body scrub; face mask)
👑 monthly wardrobe audit and sell/donate anything that doesn’t fit plus take care of any repairs that need to be done
👑 spend time sorting out the garden (being outside makes me feel better and having something nice to look at will also help!)
👑 book in for consultation and a facial with the salon my friend recommended

tostaky · 22/09/2025 16:31

Feeling quite down and not really in the mood but…
my steps have been great the past 3 days
my eating has been great too (mounjaro helps a lot!)
ive seen friends every day
ive been reading on paper
i added dental floss to my weekly shopping

skin care and body pampering- ignored totally but thats fine

Tonight i would like to :
. maybe do some exercise
. cook a chicken pie for dinner for the kids
. make that winter tea
. drink more water
. read
. Firming body cream
. Retinol on face
. hang the laundry to dry
. go to bed early

maybe tomorrow i can:
. Book hairdresser
.
but im going to be nice to myself and do what i can

Doseydots · 22/09/2025 21:35

Good evening, another good day, my exercise was my cycle ride into work. I was too busy at work to think about my sugar craving and while I was watching the tonight i did my nails. I have a little pamper basket that I pop out while I am watching TV. It has foot cream, facial oil, nail strengthener, floss and a few other bits which I use while I am sat on an evening. Not sure what DH thinks while I am sat there flossing 😳

tostaky · 23/09/2025 09:12

@Doseydots well done on all the self care. Do you not need to rinse your mouth often when flossing? When i floss it is a messy business, not something i can do in frint of the telly. But maybe i havent got the correct technique because i rarely do it!
i did everything on my list yesterday apart from the retinol. But thats ok, i’ll do it tomorrow.
and today i’ll book the hairdresseer at lunchtime.
have a lovely sunny day today all!

lechatnoir · 23/09/2025 13:52

don't be hard on yourself @tostaky you're doing really well to keep all that up when you're not feeling great. Hopefully a little self-care will help.

I've managed my daily steps & runs, water intake and eating both OK but not a huge amount else as I've been so busy these past few weeks. I've got an evening to myself so planning a cosy night - candles, music, no screens and going to do my nails and a bit of batch cooking before getting an early night.

chipsticksmammy · 23/09/2025 14:00

PinballWizened · 10/09/2025 00:02

I could do with this too. I had a week’s holiday recently and really got on top of skincare, need to hold on to the improvement !

Goals
Drink water or herbal tea at work
Take my lunch break
Get outside sometimes even
Bed by 11
Night cream
Morning cleanse and moisturise
Sort out a capsule makeup bag and use it.
Go through beauty products and use the best things up first.
Bath with hair mask and physical book once a week.
Put effort into outfits, with jewellery & accessories.
Dress up at weekend instead of scruffs. Don’t save things for best.
Cull the underwear drawer. Zero tolerance. Hostile environment for tragic keks.
Keep doing morning vitamins.
Keep doing more whole foods.
Keep reading for pleasure. DNF dull books. More pap, more fantasy, more nonsense.
Dig CDs out for the car and have raucous singalongs on the commute.

Cull the underwear drawer. Zero tolerance. Hostile environment for tragic keks.

I did this two weeks ago.

Game changer, big multipack of comfy pants and a pile of new bras.

Its brilliant in the morning.

fruitbowl100 · 24/09/2025 09:55

I would love to cull my underwear drawer and buy lots of size 10-12 sexy/pretty knickers. Sadly I am not a size 10-12 and my DH couldn't give a toss what I wore, he is seemingly not interested.

Sexy / pretty are overrated. You can still have one or two nice pairs.

You are the person in them, all day every day. Get some that are comfy and pretty. Buy them for yourself and nobody else 💐

Catpiece · 24/09/2025 14:53

I’ve swapped (decaf) coffee for Twinings Detox tea bags and am eating more fruit and drinking more water. Using Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub. It’s delicious.
