All welcome

Veils drawn over last week...especially as it was half term.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Good lord Saggars, surely NOT at the body? I remember what hell they were when you'd had too much to drink and had to stagger about in the pub ladies trying and failing to jab the bloody poppers together in the crotch. I invariably went back with only 1 done up, giving myself a fanjo wedgie, ewww!

Batters, lol at the boat too.

I have just made sausage and egg muffins for my breakfasts this week - Suzy:

5 sausages (379g iirc)
onion
120ml double cream and water
12 eggs
175g cheese

Oven on at 180, take sausages out of skins and brown them with onions. Grease a 12 tray muffin tin, distribute the cooked sausage/onion mixture around. Whisk up the cream, eggs and water, top up each muffin with the mixture and then add the grated cheese on top. Cook for 20 mins. THey look scrummy.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday and is looking forward to joining me on a SERIOUS bootcamp week next week

I am now on the wagon for ? long but definitely tonight and the rest of the week. May drink on Saturday though, we'll see.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 01/06/2008 17:00

Oh yes www. I too remember drunken attempts at trying to do them up. I am not a contortionist especially after several glass of Blue Nun.

I too will probably be drinking next weekend. I have to go to a party where the host brews his own rocket fuel wine/beer. It's the sort of stuff that has you feeling fine one minute and the next you have numb teeth and an inability to string togther a coherent sentence. To be avoided altogether really but despite taking a bottle of good white he does tend to ply you with his own brew.

unknownrebelbang · 01/06/2008 20:55

The body? OMG, nooooo. I'm too long-bodied for the body, lol.

I'm planning on having an early night tonight in order to start bootcmap fresh and revitalised after a week of diminishing exercise and growing food intake, lol.

Lol at Waitrose Saggars. We drove past one on Monday, made me giggle and think of MN. We were travelling through Cheshire though, donchaknow?

I can see the benefits of India/Nerys...how long would I have to be without fruit for www?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/06/2008 20:59

Hi New Thread

Tonight I am full of good intentions for the week (my life - yeah right) ahead.

I have picked up a copy of slimming world magazine to refresh me on the diet and Im starting that in the morning - I have had success with it before and think that I need the "rules" element of it to reign me in!

Yet another hangover day filled with carbs, fat and sugar to get through the day.

Im back on the waggon now.

Who was it that was doing SW on here again?

*I am getting my hair cut and highlighted tomorrow

  • Will be reapplying my st tropez tomorrow *Going to work on looking after myself this week and applying hand and body cream every day and drink lots of water.

Sending good, wholesome, happy week vibes to all

iamdingdong · 01/06/2008 21:01

evening all, I'm so relieved at permission to draw a veil over last week,v bad week food and esp booze wise, will be back on wagon tomorrow, have a wedding next saturday so serious bootcamp week for me

Marina · 01/06/2008 22:21

Evening all - good weekend here in terms of food & drink, but am just cocking an e-leg against the lamp-post of boot-camp as am not around this week.
I can be your SW buddy if you like Pecka
Have resisted donuts, wine and chocolate this weekend (but have also dumped the world's vilest cottage cheese in the compost bin so listen out for angry worms)

Marina · 01/06/2008 22:23

And have forgotten for about the past year to say thanks to batters for the tip about Soap and Glory. I still can't take to the packaging but they are great products!
Have had vapours remembering the Student Union disco carnage that was women in bodies queuing for loos after a couple of refreshing pints of snakebite

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/06/2008 22:53

Marina, yay be my SW buddy. Do you have any top tips? I have found my old meeting books - I am two pounds heavier than when I last joined but it was encouraging to read my progress and I lost 2lbs every week and lots the stone I needed to quite quickly - hoping I can do it again!

suzywong · 02/06/2008 01:07

hello
thanks WWW

bamamama · 02/06/2008 05:18

hello, just marking this for later. Off for a glass of water whilst I remember.

LoveAndSqualor · 02/06/2008 10:10

Hello all - my word, it's all going on on here. Taken me about half an hour to catch up! Salient points:

Tshell - I do remember the Nightowls theme! But can't quite remember how it goes. But more importantly - you can listen online?! O. M. G. Best news ever

Duchess - you're mucking out already! Splendid. And well done in being back in pre-pg clothes, even stretchy ones. It's a psychological victory!

Chutney - how many weeks are you now? Glad the vomiting is over.

Oh god, I remember bodies, too. Horrendous things. I was school age when they were around, and did the misbuttoning-when-pissed thing, but was too young and innocent to need to negotiate an - ahem! - romantic situation, while wearing one. Always wondered - how did it work? What did the romancee do when he encountered the dreaded poppers?

OK weekend here. We were down at DP's parents', which meant minimal booze, lots of delicious but v healthy food and lots of walking. I was knackered by the time we got home last night, could barely lift my head of the sofa. DS seemed to enjoy it though - in fact, I'll add a new pic of him to my profile now, looking divine, imho

LoveAndSqualor · 02/06/2008 10:44

Oh, hubris ... can't get pic to upload. Will try again later.

moonshine · 02/06/2008 18:44

Hello all (taps feet impatiently for new photos of the 10yy babies).

Memories of spending hours in pub loos trying to do up the poppers on a body whilst pissed (and even not pissed come to think of it) may be a distant memory but still a painful one so I don't think they will be troubling my wardrobe.

I must have missed the Soap and Glory recommendation but I did buy the body scrub recently (in the pink tub) and it is bloody fantastic so I will try other things in the range when I get to go the the 'big' Boots not in Hicksville-lite.

Norks - self-tanning, and nearly back in pre-preg clothes - I am beginning to think you are the fettered imagination of some hairy-armed journalist....

Dcs still on holiday today (bloody inset days) but back to normal tomorrow. I will have to go public in a swimming costume in about 10 weeks time so I need to 'buff' up all round (for me that means being in a state where I am not totally self-conscious which is probably not possible in a half-naked state), although I'm not sure why I'm worried about what a bunch of strangers will think of me.

But definitely no booze today, and the gym ball has been inflated again (although currently the dcs are beating it with a play sword and rolling it around the house at each other like an episode of the Prisoner ). I am trying to fake being a half-full glass kind of gal in this my pre-mentrual week (Already! Surely it was only a couple of weeks ago?)

moonshine · 02/06/2008 18:45

Pre-menstrual spelling as well....

WideWebWitch · 02/06/2008 20:55

Hello!

Moonshine, me too I think on pmt. But on the bright side we are BOUND to be lighter post period! Why do you have to go public in a swimming costume? Wild horses wouldn't etc etc

L&S, ahh at your ds, he looks v cute on your profile, recent or not! Romantic situations were made easier by poppers iirc - it was going for a wee that was a complete pain! That sounds like a lovely weekend.

Soap and glory, I must have missed that too, will google and look. Marina lol at e leg and well done on resisting at the weekend. I hope it's something pleasurable keeping you away rather than bitchboss.

Hi iamdingdong, veil duly drawn

Pecka, that sounds like a good start. I've never done fake tanning well, are you going to a salon for your St Tropez or doing it at home? But feigned at drinking on a Sunday night!

unknown, on the without fruit question it depends really. Phase 1 has no fruit and I will be doing that for a good few months yet. Phase 2 you're allowed berries and stuff and if you haven't got that much weight to lose then you'd be on phase 2 fairly quickly.

Saggars, we're looking forward to hearing about that party and thanks for making us all go OH NO about the comeback of bodies.

WideWebWitch · 02/06/2008 21:01

Today

vitamins galore
2 sausage and egg muffins as per recipe lower down and goodness they were GORGEOUS!
cream cheese wrapped in smoked salmon with black pepper and lemon
some slices of chilli salami and brie
brazil nuts
a tuna steak, cooked blue and briefly marinated in green chilli, soy, groundnut oil, lime juice and coriander
salad of romaine lettuce, green beans, avocado, cucumber and quail eggs with vinaigrette dressing
lots of water
plenty of sunscreen
was in bed by 10 last night but found it hard to get to sleep so prob about 10.45 when I did. 6am felt brutal this morning.

BUT have found superb new route to work involving air conditioned trains, lovely staff, and a calmer route altogether which AVOIDS the underground! This morning I felt much calmer as a result of not negotiating Oxford Circus etc.

Went to pick ds up from a party and the mother said "you look well" which I KNOW means "you're fat" normally but last time I saw her she said "you look tired" so I Think she genuinely thinks I look better than when I last saw her. Come to think of it, that was when I was still doing 9am - 6pm AND four hour commute so not surprising really!

Feel very motivated. My sister has her 40th party at the end of July and I so want to look respectable for that, it will be glam I suspect

iamdingdong, sorry you had a terrible night, hope tonight is better.

DofN, I hate to rush you but WHERE'S A PHOTO OF THAT BAYBEE?

OP posts:
TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 02/06/2008 21:10

i did last summers monsoon trousers up today. i am a very smug cow (even if they're a bit tight round my arse).

[runs away before moonshine starts throwing rotten fruit]

(can you tell that archies on my lap?)

iamdingdong · 02/06/2008 21:11

thanks www, bizarre thread confusion goign on here! yay for new route to work, that must make it more tolerable, especially this time of year.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 02/06/2008 21:12

ok photos by tomorrow. dh has to download them - new camrea i dont understand

yoyo · 02/06/2008 21:20

Goodish day but little exercise which annoyed me. Food has been pretty good although was unconsciously hoovering up bits of the DC's tea and packed lunches earlier. DS told me how much he liked my squidgy middle so obviously not trying hard enough at the moment.

Looking forward to tomorrow (tackled a mountain of paperwork earlier and feel so much better for actually getting it done) although work will be dull as usual. I am going to the gym though and have got the tea sorted already.

Am going to catch up on some emails now and then off to bed by 10. Can't wait as had a very late night last night.

WWW - those muffins sound v. nice although don't think I could eat them for breakfast. End of July will be a great incentive to stick to I&N.

Moonshine - have been using the fitness ball in the gym and have been very surprised at how much harder you work. Did weights on one last week and my arms have only just recovered properly. Will hopefully go to some classes when my sessions with trainer come to an end.

WideWebWitch · 02/06/2008 21:25

Wow at DofN's svelte form. We are all very impressed. And envious Yoyo, I have completely stopped eating leftovers because I have "you are not the bin" from IandN ringing in my head. Hope you have a better night too.

OP posts:
Prufrock · 02/06/2008 22:11

Not only were bodies incredibly uncomfy in the crotch area, but don't you find that any top tucked into a waistband kind of emphasises the muffin top - or is that just me? Though I agree www - it wan't the undoing of them that was the problem, just the doing back up.

I am sure that if you keep going like you are you will be svelte and glam well before end July www.

I use my gymball so much - today I did press up balancing it under my groin, lunges with it behind my back against the wall, chest flies lying on it, and lying on my back, throwing it up, catching it and squeezing between my legs. It really helps to focus the exercise.

Duch - rejoice in your smugness.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 02/06/2008 22:15

Today

Apple
Banana
Low fat yogurt
Bowl of pasta
Banana
Poached eggs, baked beans, toast, vegetables
Low fat yogurt

Lots of water but probably still not enough

Have had hair done

Im liking slimming world - feel in control and reigned in so far instead of punished!

WWW - I apply my own st tropez - I use the mousse, a tanning mit, latex gloves and lots of moisturiser on my dry bits and it normally works really nicely. Got a big size mousse from ebay for much cheaper than shops too

Prufrock · 02/06/2008 22:17
