I hardly post in this topic but read it frequently and thought it would be interesting to see what recommendations you got from here that turned out to be great. I always prefer to come here instead of reading reviews that could be paid for. These are the two I’m forever grateful for

Ancient & Brave true collagen- seeing results after 5 months, will continue

Dermatica- completely eradicated acne that I had for 30 years and tried every blood cream and diet going!

If I had been younger I would have bought a mooncup. I had never heard of them until mumsnet, but by then I was past needing anything like that.

Back in my younger days (1980s) I had a cap (for contraception - not sure if that is even a thing now) and used it for that purpose..

Solovair boots
The Next £7.50 scoop neck, rolled sleeve T shirt that is very flattering and (used to) comes in loads of colours.
Land’s End Tugless, long body swimsuits. I recommend them a lot too.
Acai walking kit.

I live in those t shirts!! Size down though

Are these the long ones? I wish they would make it shorter.

WinningBV · 29/08/2025 14:50

Does anyone have a link for the tshirts please?

The soft buttery leggings from Amazon! WFH staple last winter with slipper boots a vest, shirt and a big cardi for between meetings

God I love the buttery leggings! So nice against my skin post knee surgery. They were the only fabric I could bear to have covering my knees.

I live in these but you have to size down. I’m a 12 and I buy a 10 or a small (some colours come in numbers, some letters)

Oh I didnt realise that, I stuck with my usual 12/medium. I like things quite baggy though. I pick them up on Saturday so I will try on in the shop and return and order smaller if need be. Thanks 😊

Not a Beauty product, but I read the thread about The Horse Clementine bag, clicked the links, fell utterly in love, and ordered one in taupe.

It arrived in less than a week, and is gorgeous!

I googled. It’s a brown handbag!

babylone · 05/09/2025 11:22

@sunshinechaserThanks for that link! I am in the market for a new laptop bag so this is perfect!
not sure if suede is a good choice though (commute by car so that would be cleaner than the tube/train)

Anyone have recommendations for hyper-pigmentation on the face? I'm currently using the Garnier Vit C cleanser and a vit c oil...Not sure I'm seeing much of a difference.

Felt like I should edit to add some:
ModiBodi and M&S Period pants - boy-short ones
FitVille wide toe trainers (sometimes the mens' are cheaper and my feet aren't sexist)
Those soap jute pouches for the shower - only way I get dd to use the soap as she didn't like seeing the cracks/hairs in dried soap before and now we exfoliate at the same time! Cheap too.

Edited

Cerave vit c in the morning, plus spf factor 50. Tretinoin at night (using dermatica 0.05 at present, will up it to 0.1 during winter). And time: 15 months and my hyperpigmentation and sunspots definitely faded.

I’ve just looked up this bag. It’s gorgeous. As are some of their other bags. I’m very tempted…..

I ummed and ahhed for a few weeks before I ordered. I'm so pleased that I did.

It arrived so quickly, and it's beautiful. Great quality, good size. I'm really glad I got one! I suspect I'll now buy more from them as bags seem to be my weakness at the moment!

Such a reasonable price too - I paid £254, including the shipping insurance I opted for.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 05/09/2025 21:27

Thanks to this thread I’ve bought the dettol soap for the old pits as I can get quite sweaty at work (it’s actually quite a nice smell, I still use my shower gel after) and the ELF tube mascara which I’m really liking. Not a bag person as such but that Horse Clementine bag is speaking to me!

A recommendation of my own, can’t remember if I saw on here or not but it’s the Milani eyeshadow primer. I have quite oily eyelids and have tried a few primers. Anything I put on my eyelids or some neutral eyeshadow sticks that I use for during the day always crease so fast. I tried the Milani one out today and it was by far the best I’ve tried so far. Will be sticking with that. Cost about a tenner in Boots.

Sweaty Betty Gary yoga pants. I mean it’s typical they don’t make them anymore but I found them in the outlet and loved them so much I went back for a second pair. I’ve lived in them at home over the summer.

Thank you so so much for writing this. I went to an outlet today and replaced my Gary’s which had finally lost their elastic. I had tried their replacement (the Gaias) and they’re not flattering on me. The staff in the outlet shop told me that the Gary’s will be permanently stocked in SB outlet stores

PropertyD · 12/09/2025 19:31

Saint and Sophia Apartment pants.

I was skimming one of those ‘what’s on your Christmas list’ threads trying to find inspiration years ago and I stumbled on Kirstie Le Marque who does vintage inspired jewellery.

i now have several everyday necklaces and earrings. I have never had so many compliments or people ask where a piece of jewellery is from. I love that the chains are always quite robust and chunkier than your average necklace and the pendants are beautiful
