I hardly post in this topic but read it frequently and thought it would be interesting to see what recommendations you got from here that turned out to be great. I always prefer to come here instead of reading reviews that could be paid for. These are the two I’m forever grateful for

Ancient & Brave true collagen- seeing results after 5 months, will continue

Dermatica- completely eradicated acne that I had for 30 years and tried every blood cream and diet going!

This M&S red dress - I bought it late at night having seen it on MN and it’s been sold out ever since. I have had lots of compliments on it and it was only about £30!

Tubing mascara also, which as I understand it forms little tubes around the lashes and comes off with just water and sort of slides off. I love removing it with just water in the shower. It’s quite satisfying

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 21/08/2025 05:34

Revlon blow dry brush
Tretinoin
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

I did buy OPI Nail Envy based on threads here and it ruined my nails.

I've bought a few One Hundred Stars pieces too, until the last dress which was overpriced and terrible quality.

Erborian BB cream. It just works and is way better than foundation now for my perimenopausal skin

I so wanted to use this as it sounded right up my street. Bought a tube and it reacted to my sensitive skin. Had to give it away ! Boo .

declutteringmymind · 21/08/2025 07:10

Bloody hell so many many things.

Adalae jeans

Oh yes, these are really fab. I have in the dark blue and keep trying to decide if I need black as well.

Using dettol anti bac bar soap. Less sweaty pits through the day, and less lingering/stubborn sweaty pits in clothes

Works well on teenage boys too! 🤣🤣

Something i do if my tops smell of armpit smell even after i wash them, i put some listerine on the armpits area of the top, where the smell is. Let it works its magic for 10 mins and then just wash as usual. All lingering smells are gone!

LastKnownSurvivor · 21/08/2025 10:50

Bare Minerals foundation. I was wearing it on a video call and I actually checked I hadn't accidentally enabled the 'soft focus' filter as it made my skin look so smooth and bright. 😆

Edited

I did actually see it on a thread about a mum complaining about her stinky son 😂 haven't looked back. It can be a little drying on the skin, but I always slather myself in moisturiser after a shower anyway.

cosietea · 20/08/2025 23:14

@Appalonia I keep hearing about this. What do you use? What difference have you seen?

There was a v long thread about it in S&B some years ago. It's basically about layering with toners, serums and essences etc. I do think it's made my skin look more dewy. There's so many Korean products to try, it would totally depend on what kind of skin you have as to what might be good for you. I recently asked Chat GPT to design a Korean skin care regime for me ( which you can try for yourself ), and I was already using a lot of the products recommended!

Starlight1984 · 21/08/2025 11:19

The most amazing dress from Wolf and Badger which I get compliments on every time I wear 😍

MrsWojadubakowski · 21/08/2025 13:14

Molke bras. They’re the best I’ve ever tried, so comfortable and give me the silhouette I had at 20!

Laiste · 21/08/2025 20:06

Kerastase shampoo and cond.

🙄🙄🙄

First learned of it here about 5/6 years ago. It's £££ but gave it a go and wow! Tried to wean myself off it several times - sigh. Literally just ordered a load more. Nothing is as good !

Bloody love this thread.... does the Philips lumea hurt?!

whiteroseredrose · 21/08/2025 20:21

I wish I could find my original post so that I could thank the MNer who recommended Face Theory Azaliac Acid for my post menopausal pustular rosacea. I was distraught a few years ago, suddenly getting spots, but this works brilliantly.

I’ve tried a LOT of these including high end brands and the best one for me is ELF Xtendr - it’s about 7 or 8 quid.

Placeithere · 21/08/2025 20:24

@cosietea ditto Dermatica, it’s been life changing and saving a fortune! What results have you seen from the collagen

There was a tubing mascara kn the m&s advent calendar. I had to go out and get micellar water to remove it

underthewestway · 21/08/2025 20:26

Protected Species raincoats.

Ilovegoldies · 21/08/2025 20:29

If you wear red knickers and bra under white they don't show. I tried and it works!

Not much unless you keep doing the same spot in quick succession rather than moving on. Hurts negligibly compared to waxing.
