The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Not logged into Mumsnet for a long time but used to always read the advent threads! Im awaiting the Harrods Fragrance calendar to be shipped.
Just watched the SpaceNk reveal, and its one id purchase but cant help but feel the La Mer is abit "meh" for me. The Augustinus Badar, again i feel its just put in these things to bump value.
I would use 30 of the products in total, l so only a handful would be sold/ gifted.

I would have liked some SR. Conspicuous by it's absence this year.

I think I need to wait to see it wrote down before I decide. Moisturiser is something I use every single night and I feel there was none in the calendar? Also no SPF this year as much as I didn’t want it on Christmas Day I was really happy to have it ticked off my list of needing to buy in broke January and February.

very lip product heavy but I loved the medik8 item and happy to try that tatcha item. Can’t decide whether I’m best looking for the medik8 on eBay from the resellers and a couple of other products and going for say Harrods or something with more skincare I need.

SpaceNK is a no for me, way too many lip products which I wouldn't use. Also very underwhelmed with The Ordinary and Inkey List. Dreamboat and SDJ are like Elastizer to me.now, immediate turnnoff

The Charlitte Tilbury product is not suitable for dark skin, I've purchased it before and had to send it back. They have since released a darker shade which I'm yet to try.

I'll keep an eye on vinted though wouldn't mind the DE product and also the cleansing balm.

Also agree with others I miss SR not being in the calendars this year and also loved always getting the 2 wee 10ml of Sisley which I know some would argue are samples but I got about 4/5 uses out of each every year and the stuff was lovely on my skin x

@Twinsandsome There was a Paula's Choice moisturiser

I've counted 5 products that I don't really want at all which is not a bad ratio. Unfortunately one of them is the star xmas day product but oh well.

Hello all have been lurking here for weeks and as a confirmed advent calendar addict …ive not been wowed by any calendar in particular …waited eagerly for space nk to drop tonight ….it started well with the medik8 peptides and tatcha but the bader and la mer were dissapointing (still have both from last years advent haul) not to mention the disappointing inkey list …at least it didn’t have a claw clip, or a scrunchie 🤣… still im not totally discounting it till i’ve gone through it all on a spreadsheet 🤪

@Benny12 at least we all know how to use a scrunchie and a claw clip. This one has the expensive pin thing that even the host admitted to not knowing how to use.

@Twinsandsome I agree, it's hard to compare the lists with an unboxing, but my initial reaction is I'm underwhelmed. Maybe it's because I had Space NK last year, although it's very different it has the same vibes of being a sensible purchase in that I'd use everything. But this year I don't really like the mix of brands and products. I think it's going to be a no from me.

Can anyone remember when John Lewis launched their calendar last year? And did Fortnum and Mason sell out quickly last year?

I think JLP was around 20th September and F&M was around for a good while.

Looking at last years SNK it's mostly the same brands (different products) with a few staple brands absent this year. No Amika, no Skin Rocks, no Sunday Riley or Kate Somerville. But it has some new additions like WA and TIMY which I like.

I really like the SNK offering. Yes the two big products are repeats from Harrods last year, but I purchased both from Vinted at the time and liked them. Only thing is I bought 2 of the La Mer lip glosses and still have one unopened.

I wish there was more of a moisturiser offering. And I tend to stick to the same lip products, so I would have no use for so many in one AC (I also felt I had too many last year and sold/gifted them), so a bit disappointed that there’s so many, but overall still a good AC for me.

I really liked it. I love lip products - although I'm disappointed by the terracotta shade of Hourglass lipstick. I love the look of the tinted Gisou lip oil and I'm happy to get a Summer Fridays one too. I wouldn't use most of the hair products so would eBay them. I like the choice of skincare. Ideally I'd have scents I prefer, a tubing mascara, far fewer hair products, a Lisa Eldridge palette and a Victoria Beckham lipstick or shimmery eyeshadow. They should employ me. 🤣

I actually hadn’t clicked the complete absence of SR in all the advents- I am really going to miss those products. I’ve never had to buy a Luna oil or good genes but I might have to start- they are hg products for me!

I have a LE mascara in brown and despite it not being a tubing one I really like it. Wore it all day today and it doesn't smudge which is rare for me. The only other mascara I've found so far that is wearable without smudging is Tarte tubing.

I like the HG lipstick. Glad it wasn't a red one but it's not going to match the Kosas liner I don't think. I've got a lot of HG powder products so a lipstick is a nice change and something I don't have.

I think I may own the SF lip oil already.

I wish the hair pin was black or brown which would have been more wearable than purple.

I was/am hoping for a Cermaide ICE from SR as unexpectedly my skin loves it. It's OOS so was hoping an advent was why, maybe JL.
Actually 6 lip, nice lip but it is a lot.

Thank you - I won’t panic yet then! I’m just waiting for JL and the French Pharmacy before deciding on my main calendar. And I’m interested to see the contents of the other fragrance calendars, and The Jarrolds 12 day calendar.

I think it's launching on the 1st Sep? Not sure if they will reveal before then.

I wonder could the mystery product be a VB product? What was the other item in the drawer that she was able to show us?

ok so one moisturiser the Paula’s choice though I’m not sure about it as I’m had the barrier repair one from PC before and it wasn’t very nourishing for my skin. I think when I look at it written down I might like it more. I was impressed by sizes it just felt something was missing for me whereas last year I was 100% I need this calendar and was so glad I bought it.

@Twinsandsome , I was wondering if the mystery product could be something from VB (would love a Portofino 97 perfume), but then that influencer said that the brand hasn’t launched yet. Or was it a product? Maybe I misunderstood.
