The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. I think the first Boots Premium was good, second one was dreadful. I only liked one CB one (3 years ago I think) and I really enjoyed it. SpaceNK has never really appealed to me - always too many DoDs. JL don't deliver to Ireland so I never check it. Same with Harrods and F&M. First LF I had (Beauty in Wonderland) was amazing but customer service was so bad with the second one I got I won't go there again. I've liked liberty several years but as it's over €250 the taxes make it insanely expensive in Ireland.

The first one I ever had was M&S in, I think, 2017. Thought it was amazing but it's been really samey since. Absolutely love HN perfume last year but don't think I would go for another perfume one for at least another year or two. I'm not a perfumista like some of you.

I think the problem is I have become much fussier each year. It takes much more to wow me now.

I reckon H&B will, if similar quality to last year, appeal. I'm hopeful one of the korean ones might be more skincare oriented and chatGPT has promised to update me on any that are skincare heavy with minimal make up.

Lego also do a friends calendar, we get it every year, we make a christmas village display. Last year they did a disney princess one, there were so many princess figures, it was very good value.
The calendars I'm going for, if they hit my requirements are, Vogue for high end, H&B for everyday supplies, justmylook for Kbeauty, and lookfantastic because I have points to spend

I don't really 'do' luxury, but an AC seems a good way of introducing it and seeing if I'd like it.

Any recommendations for a noob?

In my younger days I loved Chanel makeup and perfume, and I currently love LBTY Wild Rosinda if that's any help.

Dd has checked the Harrods list for me and has confirmed she things I will like all of it, apart from the lipstick.

I'd still consider myself to new to ACs. I've only had 1 a year for the last 3 years. I'm hoping to have 3 this year 😈 (husband has been warned and I don't want to disappoint).
My first one was the John Lewis one. I knew some of the brands. I'd recommend looking at that one and the Look Fantastic one when they both reveal. I have had the Harrods one for the last 2 years and currently planning on purchasing again. I have a list of 5 must haves now and then find the calendar that has the most of the must haves.

I ordered the Harrods Fragrance calendar and was another where the pending payment disappeared yesterday.
I checked my account today and the money has now been taken, I paid via Apple Pay and American Express.

I am liking the look of Harrods more than I did when it was first released but want to see what Space NK and JL have in theirs. I have had JL most years and although not as high end as Harrods, it normally has some good brands like Murad, Dermalogica, Elemis etc.

Not sure whether to contact Harrods again about the money disappearing from my account for the fragrance calendar or just leave it and see what happens.

Last year I followed the liberty calendar opening thread on here and picked up all the fragrances and a couple of other bits on Vinted. That worked well. Maybe I should just get the Liberty calendar but then there's also Look Fantastic and Cult Beauty still in the running. WHY IS THIS SO HARD!?

That's reassuring. Does it show up in your transactions? I've just checked mine and it's not showing. I bought it on my credit card and also been online shopping (oops) so I can't tell if it's gone or not 🤦🏻‍♀️ I might phone them tomorrow to try to get ahead of the potential fiasco. I saw on either Facebook or insta that some people have received dispatch emails, again, taking with a pinch of salt.

I know, I wish they'd all just release their content lists, stop making us wait! I'm waiting for Cult Beauty, although the spoilers aren't doing anything for me atm, SpaceNk, Vogue and Look Fantastic, although I'm tempted to get that alongside a premium one.

It's mad though, it's only August and I feel so frustrated that they're being slow 🤣

You would think they would all start releasing their contents around the same time, as those who are only buying one calendar might rush to purchase Harrods or Liberty before they sell out, whereas they might have gone for one of the others if the contents tempted them more.

@JoRaRaRaIt is showing in my transactions with a date of 4th August, it is strange for transactions to update over the weekend so maybe won’t show until Monday for some people.

Can I add Full spoilers for Cult Beauty, not the weekly drop feed and Flannels.

I ordered the Harrods one but have cancelled it seeing how many of the products are sample sizes or travel sizes and then they emailed me saying it can take up to 10 WORKING DAYS to refund!! 2 WEEKS!! If I haven’t received my money by Monday I’m doing a chargeback from my bank as that’s taking the piss! They hadn’t even posted it so why should they keep my money for 2 weeks?!

harvey Nichols is just as crap as the Harrods one and I had decided for the first time to buy the foetnum and mason one but then saw the disappointing contents so have decided if it’s still available after the other ones are all out I will get it if I have any money left over
