Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July. Thread 1 here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5360770-2025-style-and-beauty-advent-calendar-discussion

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

There’s a separate thread for GWP, discounts and other deals here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5338957-beauty-chat-freebiesgifts-with-purchaseoffers-thread-three

A thread for the Liberty Beauty Drop here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5253698-liberty-beauty-drop-spoiler-from-the-despatch-date-part-9

Two of the big ticket items appeared in Harrods calendar last year so less exciting for me. A couple of interesting items that I might try and pick up on Vinted - but not enough to buy.

lookingforwardtoautumn2 · 19/08/2025 19:23

Space NK seems very serum heavy, and lots of hair products. I don’t think there are any night creams or body lotions/butters?

Thank you! And it has thing I wanted most of all!😁

ElizabethG81 · 19/08/2025 19:25

I thought it looked really good and there MUST be a fragrance calendar coming because it only had two perfumes.

3KidsPlusDdog · 19/08/2025 19:26

I have mixed feelings about it. I will have to go through each product more carefully

So 5 lip products plus a lip liner. That seems overkill to me.

Addictedtobeauty · 19/08/2025 19:26

seemed like a lot of lip products. No night cream? Some decent offerings alongside disappointing ones. I’m not a fan of low cost brands in a high end calendar. And some of the high cost items selected are the least appealing of the range for me. But I think my DD will love it. And there’s a fragrance one on the way too. Yay!

JoRaRaRa · 19/08/2025 19:27

It was doing so well, but then there were no night cream, a load of lip products and 2 of the same, high value products from the Harrods AC last year, which I actually didn't like when I used them 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

NeverEverSure86 · 19/08/2025 19:28

Ok, SpaceNK has quite few products that I actually want to try (Tatcha, Dyson and La Mer), it just seemed to have way too many lip products. Need to wait for Vogue reveal but for now Space NK is my favourite.

Agreed, The Ordinary and Inkey products devalue it somehow. Also disappointed in no night cream or body butter. No bath oil either.

psuedocream3 · 19/08/2025 19:28

There was a Dyson blow dry product and spacenk body wash in a bahamas/tropical scent

Christmaschatalready · 19/08/2025 19:28

Thank you for the list.

I don't think it's for me. I'm possibly not their target market, I don't follow influencers, and I don't watch unboxings.

I'm still waiting for vogue, justmylook, h&b, and lookfantastic 🤞

Welshmumto3boys · 19/08/2025 19:29

Think I’m definitely going to get it but why all the hair products? Other than the oil I won’t use them so if anyone else gets it and would like to swap then I’m game 😜x

JoRaRaRa · 19/08/2025 19:32

I keep forgetting about Vogue - but isn't that one usually a higher cost?

OvaHere · 19/08/2025 19:34

I like it. I'm not blown away but percentage wise there's a lot I would use. I've wanted to try the Tatcha Vit C, it has 2 eye creams I would use, I really like the TIMY cleansing balm. MediK8 serum is one I currently use.

I know what you mean about low cost brands included but I have fancied trying the Inkey List Ectoin serum as it seems popular.

Not really a fan of the La Mer lip plumper but overall there's not any DoD just a few meh ones.

OvaHere · 19/08/2025 19:37

Oh also the AB retinol serum. I like that. Would have preferred the rich cream but better than lash serum.

Any guesses for the mystery product?

psuedocream3 · 19/08/2025 19:38

@welshmum, see I actually like trying the hair products as my hair 'tends' to like the brands chosen, and I tend to spend a fortune on haircare.

I'm not sure about this one, I mean I'd use mostly everything and the shades look ok unlike with CB, but like others I'm not blown away. We were spoiled last year so maybe it's not as exciting by comparison. More of a stock up than anything particularly exciting for me, but if I got this AND the Flannels perfume, I'd probably be happy.

OvaHere · 19/08/2025 19:41

Just remembered the WA product. I liked that shade. The same shades of WA have being doing the rounds for too long so appreciate a different one.

Think I'm going to buy SNK.

Talisin · 19/08/2025 19:42

It looks good to me so I think I’m for SNK for the second year in a row unless something comes completely out of left field. Thanks so much for that list @LightandBreezy

PlumRed · 19/08/2025 19:42

I still have the AB retinol and the LM volumiser feom Harrods last year and still to be opened. The other items dont appeal / dont make it worth buying. So I think I'll go with Liberty this year.

OvaHere · 19/08/2025 19:42

This is where I'm at. I think Liberty is probably the best value if you're a BD member and have some vouchers but there's a lot of face stuff in Liberty that doesn't really appeal.

TempleBra · 19/08/2025 19:45

SNK started strong for me but I don’t know how I feel now. Having had Harrods last year, the AB retinol and La Mer volumiser just “meh’d” me. Also feel a lip excess similar to others, and would rather have had another face cream in place of one of the eye creams. Interesting collection! Trying to decide if the wins are enough to purchase, also dying to know what the secret product is.

diamondsandrose · 19/08/2025 19:45

Well that’s me decided , Harrods it is !
Bit of an odd mix in Space NK low / high end and weird colours ( red lipliner , really?) They have a young teen fan base of recent, and then the OG customers like myself who are pushing 50. Do you think they couldn’t decide who to pitch to and came up with a kind of hybrid mother and daughter strategy !

trying29 · 19/08/2025 19:45

I’m on holiday but following everyone’s comments. I must be the only person disappointed there aren’t any Sunday Riley products in ANY calendars!

NeverEverSure86 · 19/08/2025 19:46

JoRaRaRa · 19/08/2025 19:32

It is, but it also tends to have some jewellery, some skincare gadgets, cashmere socks, and other things. I think they don’t even market it as a beauty calendar. Last year it was something like £350 — so, yes, definitely more expensive.
