I am so sorry I filled up the last thread with my witterings about the JLP calendar! I didn;t realise till I had a good look and went back to say:

• red lippy AGAIN I am not 25!
• The Ordinary again I can buy that for £10 thanks
• Two lip oils and three eye creams? I don't really want more than one if that many
• ANddddd £235?? last year it was £195 I am sure.

Overall altho the fragrance is nice (Le Labo!) and the Medik8 and Pai night cream and oil look good, I think the DoDs and the price may have tipped me finally towards Liberty. I can always mentally knock £20 off the Lib price as I can usually sell the box for about that. So it’s only £20 more which is nothing #girlmath

I saw a CB unboxing on Youtube earlier. It's a bit of annoying video but it gives a better idea of the AC.

Interestingly the ND palette is not the same as was in the earlier spoilers for the calendar. The one this influencer received is a black/grey palette.

We talk about other types of calendars sometimes, I’ve had these in the past Yawn Brew advent of coffee, tea, hot chocolate or a mix https://yawnbrew.com/collections/advent-calendars and a runner’s calendar by sock company Bimble and Bolt. The socks are great for running and lots of energy sachets, bath salts, flapjacks that sort of thing https://bimbleandbolt.com/products/runners-advent-calendar . I heard about the Bimble and Bolt one here, and then Yawn Brew was in that advent and I got their one.

I quite like the look of the ASOS one, if it gets reduced (I think it did last year) I’d definitely be tempted. It didn’t appeal last year but there are a lot of products I would use this time around

Was there a NUXE calendar last year?

Yes there was. I didnt go for it as I'd won a big Nuxe gift set in our Scarecrow Festival raffle.

Edited to add that last year's seemed to be almost all mini products. This year's seems to have at least 6 what they call 'selling products' which I'm guessing is what we would call Full Size. Not bad for £112. Love the box!!

I've gone through the JL advent calendar and I very much like the design again this year. I like the skincare items and am interested in the fragrances. It is as I think a pp has already said poorly curated. 2 hair oils, 2 lip oils, 2 lip balms, 3 eye creams and 2 eyeshadow products mean that on balance I will probably not go for it.

@OvaHere thanks for the heads up re the cult beauty advent, there was a lot I liked about that one so I could be tempted if the eyeshadow palette is different to the one on the reveal list.

Still deliberating here - JL/Mintd/Elemis and French Pharmacy. Went Anthropologie for DD. May hang on for cyber November discounts.

I'm so tempted to just press buy on the Harrods BAC, I don't find it particularly exciting apart from trying out a few expensive creams that I'd normally wouldn't buy on a whim. I can't afford to replace some of them, but I like the thought of buying a little bit of luxury.

I feel I need to go back through them and make a decision before they all start releasing them and selling out.

I need sephora to release their contents too.

As a PP said on the last thread, they are making this very easy this year. I guess it shows the saturation levels of BACs and so many of the ubiquitous products that are often pedalled in them. Hard no from me for JL too. What are they thinking?

We should also be getting some freebies as surely this thread makes all influencers? Although maybe we are too honest and don't fawn enough over everything.

I don't even think the women unboxing it was that impressed and she got it for free! I clocked the different ND pallette I wonder whether they are lucky dips. Also maybe the fragrance version of Cult Beauty is better
Let's hope Boots knock it out the park this week. Otherwise I quite liked the Glossy box teasers so waiting for full reveal on this although bracing myself for disappointment as Glossybox has never appealed previously
And there is still Sephora to reveal which is usually quite good.
If nothing else appeals though I think it will be Spacenk for me . I did like Liberty but I can't get past owning at least 6 of the items already

I'm wondering if the ND palette in CB is going to be a few different ones and it will be random which one you get. They need to crack on and release the details properly. What's the point of doing all this teasing on the website when they've sent it out to influencers who are unboxing on SM already?

Sorry cross posted with @Puravida23 there. That's why I said the video was annoying, the influencer could barely have been less enthused with the calendar.

I liked CB a bit more seeing it unboxed. If they did some sort of Gold members discount and the price came down under 200 with the credit I have I might consider it in addition to SNK but if I'm only getting the one then SNK is better. If CB had more appealing make up shades then I'd rate it higher.

Liberty arrived yesterday, its stunning and makes me want another luxury multibrand!
None of the others appealed so far but I'll look again thinking about the joy of opening each day and try not be overly critical. I feel ridiculous typing that but it's what I'm actually going to do lol

I’m always more tempted when I see the contents in the flesh. The make up shades have put me off this one. Perhaps it’s the shades they haven’t been able to sell.

If I was going to get an AC, I would get the Liberty AC, I’d buy an AC to open in December and be something festive decorating the house. I think the edits are better value and curation. The ACs always sell, and the market keeps increasing, so I think they must be doing something right, it’s not all beauty lovers looking to buy. I just don’t want to open perfumes for 8 days. Wish Liberty did a separate fragrance one so the main one could be fragrance free or minimal.

I think this is what I’ll do mid-September too @TreesinthePark
