I do like the Evidens range so would be interested to know what it’s like. I loved their moisturiser that came in the 2023 Fenwicks advent.

I keep going back to Harrods as would also like to try the La Mer cream but want to see what Space NK have to offer first.

Just had an email from Next with a link to their calendars waitlist at the end.

Well, I was going to pre-order the Flannels men’s fragrance box for DS, but £6.99 for delivery, and no BLC discount is massively off putting.

Any recommendations for other men’s ones, or have people generally gone for the mixed AC’s and shared them? (If the latter, what were your thoughts on those?)

I've just been into store to see if I could see it there (I didn't). I was hoping they'd have it on display. I might wait and see if it gets reduced.

@JoRaRaRa I didn’t want to pay the postage on the flannels cracker last year and went into one of their shops but they said they wouldn’t be getting any stock in, so I begrudgingly paid the £6.99.

Getting very annoyed with the slow reveals. What’s the point? All products will be revealed before it’s on sale, and they’ll either choose to look at the contents and buy it (or not) or buy it blind.

Most people can’t afford to buy more than one luxury calendar so brands who are dragging it out (I’m looking at you SNK) are being very tedious as we want to make up our minds. Some may buy one of the calendars already available to order rather than wait.

I have decided that I do not need it. My Dd reviewed it and said it wouldn’t be for me.
A candle is a good shout, going to take a look as of course I will have to spend the voucher!

Speaking of candles, JLP did a lovely multi brand candle advent last year which I really hope they repeat. I hadn’t budgeted for it and it sold out before I could buy it but a friend got it and rated it over her beauty calendar.

Disappointed to see Next seem not to be doing a men's calendar again this year. I'd bought them several times for DH and they were a good mix, well priced, but last year the men's one just disappeared. Haven't found a good substitute yet. Latest in Beauty do good men's boxes but not a men's calendar.

I'm interested to see what's in LF and particularly in the fragrance one. Agree that the teaser partial reveals are annoying! Just tell us.

I got that one with one of the discounts and it was really good.

@JoRaRaRa do they get reduced usually ?I remember 2 years ago there was a discount code for 20% off floating about so last year I waited for them. Unfortunately no codes came out and it sold out. I have since budgeted that crackers will be around 60 quid with postage and DP would love to try some new perfumes,xmas gift sorted for him.I didn't like women's one so won't bother. Might get the LF fragrance one for myself and add any men's perfume to the cracker. I don't like the box design though,might repackage into something more seasonal.

I totally agree with you. I really want to see what is in Space NK and John Lewis but I am tempted by the Harrods calendar and don’t want that to sell out while waiting for them to release the contents of their advents.
John Lewis are often the last to reveal their calendar by which time a lot of us would have already ordered another one.

In 2023 JL reduced theirs by 15% for black Friday, I don't remember them doing it last year though , as I have said before I do get partner discount so it's great value for me . That's why I always buy it as my second choice .

Yes I ordered early last year , the year before with the discount was the 2 dod with cbd drops iirc.

Oh yes, I had it in 2023 and remember the 2 different CBD drops. They seemed to learn from their mistakes as last year was much better and I would have got it had I not already got the Harrods advent.

In 2022 I ordered the JL AC at half term. By then there was a free winter beauty box with a minimum spend too. The AC was reduced not long after & JL refunded me the difference.

I tried the sample of the Evidens mask this evening. Instructions are to spread an even layer after cleansing, leave for 10-15 mins then wipe remainder off. It feels quite 'minty' like those lip pumping products which tingle a bit.

After wiping it off I did my usual skincare routine. Not sure if you are supposed to but I don't see why not.

I don't really have any thoughts on it at the minute. Wasn't unpleasant to use. You're supposed to use it 1-2 times a week so probably one of those products you need to use for a while to decide if it does anything.

Not sure I'm much wiser as to whether I want the Harrods advent but at least I know I don't hate the mask and hasn't given me a reaction or anything like that.

Oh thanks for reminding me about this. I really fancied it last year but then dithered. I've added it to my list of ones to watch out for.

I'm trying to be restrained / practical in my final choices this year as I've got to shell out 10k on a new conservatory roof in November.

Thanks for the review of the Evidens mask. It was one of the products I fancied trying from the Harrods advent as I loved their moisturiser so much.
I also like the look of the La Mer cream and the Valmont moisturiser, although at over £600 for a 50ml tub I expect it to give me a full face lift! 😂
