The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

The fragrance shop advent is available to buy now. £150 or £120 for members. You can see unboxings of last years on tiktok or YouTube. I couldn't see a list of the perfumes included. It usually sells out quickly I believe.

I've really tried to like the Parfums de Marly from last year's JL. I love it when it initially goes on but it's just too strong for my taste. I've got about 3/4 of the perfume left and only had a couple of squirts of the body lotion - would you like them both? I feel like I'm using them up for the sake of it, which feels very wasteful!

My fragrance calendar is showing as processing too. I think they start dispatching next week.

It is worth contacting them on their WhatsApp live chat. I did this last week as my pending payment also disappeared for a while, and they reassured me that my order was still showing as successful.

I bought the Fragrance Shop calendar last year for myself and my husband and it was fabulous. It has come onto their website today and I've ordered again. It's £150 or £120 if you are a member, which I am.

diamondsandrose - no, there is no information as to what's in it this year. The contents for last year are here - The Fragrance Shop Advent Calendar | 24 Perfumes, Blush. There were fewer men's products, but sufficient to keep my husband interested. Obviously, not the expensive perfumes as found in the Harrod's calendar, but it did lead me to a few new favourites, especially Good Girl Blush.

My favourite scent of all time is Bulgari Thé Vert, which is very hard to find now. I’ve got a couple of bottles stashed but I’d be thrilled to have 18 in a cupboard!

I might be interested but that’s too much for me to spend on a blind purchase. I will wait for contents to be released. If it sells out before, so be it. Hopefully the Perfume shop will release soon too- I expect the fragrance shop released early and are trying to get all the early sales for the moderate spend market. Although both sold out quickly last year iirc.

I keep watching the unboxing for Harrods beauty calendar and am now finding myself more and more drawn to it after initially dismissing it.

TBH I’m quite irritated by the pressure to be spending advent calendar money in August, when all my spare money needs to go on summer holiday expenses. September/October are months where I have much more disposable income for stuff like this, before the main Christmas drain begins. I also don’t feel remotely Christmassy (and I do use what I buy in advent) and I end up feeling resentful.

I just had a look. It's not a bad price but seems a bit much to ask you to purchase without telling you any of the contents. I get that it will probably sell out anyway but not keen on blind buying.

I’m almost the opposite @Doubleraspberry . I look forward to this in July/August and love the chase. It helps that I work in education so this is full on Summer escapism for me. I won’t have the time once I’m back at work to do any of this frivolous perusal.

That's a bit harsh, @Doubleraspberry makes a valid point. In previous years the contents would start to be released round about now but they wouldn't go on sale until late September/early October maybe? I've still got a summer holiday to come so I'm not in a festive frame of mind. Liberty has just released a travel edit too so it does feel a bit jarring to think about advent. I also think it's absolutely fine and valid to criticise the calendars and retailers, you can find aspects of the process annoying while ultimately still buying and enjoying.

DS2 got his insurance offer to go to Liverpool! So pleased and finally relaxed that I was hoping there would be a new reveal today….

I wonder if BL discount would stack with the member discount.
Otherwise signing up for the scheme to get £30 off is worth it as joining at the lowest level costs £15 so 10% off net.

Re the fragrance shop advent, I think I'd rather wait to see what the Lookfantastic fragrance advent has to offer and if not I'm considering the Cult beauty limited curation one. It's great that the blue light discount works though. I thought the perfume shop calendar was better last year than the fragrance shop one but I didn't pick up either.

I did just order the Martha Brook stationery advent calendar for my dd. She wanted one last year but I didn't realise how quickly it would sell out.

Just saw the new Liberty well traveled kit looks good. This is too tempting when I’m meant to be saving my money for Adventure Calendars!

I’m seriously considering blind buying a few mixed brand discovery sets from the Perfume Society, getting DD to put them in my JL calendar box from last year and having that as my fragrance calendar. No mini candles that way.

I would of course still get a beauty advent as well 😆 Still got high hopes for Space NK.
