The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

I just saw the Jo Malone contents on the Beauty Detective site and it’s a no Malone for me. Too many hand/body creams when really I’m only interested in the perfumes.

I think I had to use the search bar to find the Anthropologie AC in the end. It’s stupid. And after all of that, I was completely underwhelmed.

I signed up about a week ago and still no voucher, the initial excitement of seeing the contents has worn off now 😅

Long time lurker on these threads. Decided to join in. I’ve got a year’s worth of Liberty credits to spend and this year’s calendar doesn’t appeal to me. Annoying, but I’ve preordered Harrods.

I am tempted with last years Phenalgon's if it comes to the outlets in Ireland. We loved it - shared between 3 of us in the family

I really like Harvey Nichols perfume, I will be buying it for sure.

@MiaN - have you tried phoning the Penhaligon’s outlets here on the off chance they would ship to you? They had at least two of the 2024 a/c at the outlet in York last week.

They won't ship to Dublin, I need the outlet in Kildare to get some. What was the cost?

Same !! Very very annoying , I only wanted to see what was in it , I wish I hadn’t bothered . It is very “mid” as my DD20 says.
I had Harrods last year and loved it. Swithering this year . Peri menopause has made my skin quite reactive ( peri oral dermatitis which is not fun ) It seems to be triggered by actives . Not so much retinols, as fine with my A313 , more so acids ..AHA/B’s , Vit C etc. it’s making me rethink my advent choices.
Harrods doesn’t look very acid-y , more luxurious moisture type creams and serums. But it’s hard to decide !

I saw that too! It’s a no from me also..I ordered the 10ml Scarlet Poppy last night after I watched the reveal. The only thing that I thought would be nice was the bluebell body mist..and obviously the scarlet poppy.

I've just got an email from Look Fantastic saying they are doing 3 calendars this year and one of them is a fragrance calendar, and they land Sept 1st 👀

I'm intrigued by the fragrance one as it appears to be a 24/25 day one. Hopefully there's some good stuff but I'm assuming it will have plenty of SDJ, mini candles and other fragrance adjacent products.

My perfume tastes are NOT sophisticated, but I know what I like.

My current faves are FS Arizona Bloom and A&F Fierce (and the Naturally Fierce women’s version). I like MM Replica Jazz too, but it’s far too pricy for me.

I loathe perfumes that smell like food, oud and rose scents in particular. That last is weird, as I love the smell of real roses!

I live in hope of a fragrance calendar that meets my criteria for both smell and cost, but I think it’s unlikely!

I also like the idea of one at LF prices, but worry it might mean what @OvaHere said in spades - tiny votives, SDJ or similar e.g. cheaper scents/ body sprays, and a load of 2ml samples . But I may just be saying that to myself for reassurance as I'm not going to be around on the 1st to order and I'm still annoyed I missed the Harrod's one😂

I don’t even really like Jo Malone that much, tbh - it’s too strong for my delicate little nostrils 😹 DH got me the Pomegranate for Xmas, which I find just ok. For interest’s sake I also bought the Aldi dupe and I swear I can’t tell them apart.

I really mustn’t get any more candles. (Although I could probably find room for a reed diffuser oil or two and maybe a room spray.

On a related note: I laughed when I got a tiny washing liquid and conditioner in my Rituals calendar, (but I was grateful when I had to rewash something several times to remove an awful smell and my usual powder wasn’t doing it!)

I’ve loved my Jo Malone calendars - I think I’ve had three now - but they don’t really have enough new fragrances to tempt me this year. I’m also interested in the LG perfume calendar but agree thst it’s likely to be full of tiny sizes.

The LF fragrance is 25 day. I managed to get a screenshot of the advert earlier today which shows all of them as 25 days 😁

@IlovePond I got a laundry scent in last years Rituals. I wasn't overly thrilled when I opened it but it was actually very nice when used.

Ah yes @OvaHere - that was it and I think the washing liquid was from the year before. It was nice!

Have you looked at the Harvey Nichols one? It has a wide range of niche fragrances. Spacenk also had a fragrance calendar last year.

@JoRaRaRa The Harvey Nichols does look good, thanks for the reminder. I think the first time I looked I was put off by the escentric molecules and that I have 4 of them already from previous edits, but I'd love to try the Trudon candle, even if it is a fairly dinky one.
