Of course not!!

2025ismybestyear · 06/07/2025 17:26

Don't be daft. You can't wear that. It's awful anyway.

beccahamlet · 06/07/2025 17:27

Yes. It's too white.

HennyPennyLane · 06/07/2025 17:28

You're clearly not going to be be the bride in it but likely to make yourself focal point in the picture because of the large amount of white in it. For that reason I'd say no

whynotmereally · 06/07/2025 17:30

No it’s too white , too statement.

AtrociousCircumstance · 06/07/2025 17:31

It’s too white.

DaisyChain505 · 06/07/2025 17:31

If you event have to question it, don’t do it.

makingthecut · 06/07/2025 17:45

Definitely too white.

JudgeBread · 06/07/2025 17:47

If you have to ask, it's probably too white.

If the main colour is white, it's probably too white.

If it's listed on the website as a "white dress", it's probably too white.

It also looks like something Cruella DeVille might wear, which may be a point for or against depending on your style.

If you simply like the style of the dress why not just get the pale yellow colour way instead?

PrincessPeachy · 06/07/2025 18:00

For those that have commented that’s it’s awful, I actually own the dress and really like it 😂 I wore it on a cruise last week and thought I looked quite nice. I won’t be wearing it to the wedding, I knew it was too white, DH made me doubt my judgement.

Is this dress too white for a wedding guest?

You look really nice in it. It suits you, but seeing it on it will definitely be too white

popcornpower2025 · 06/07/2025 18:12

It's literally a white dress 🤣

It looks nicer on you than on the link.

LightOfTheLake · 06/07/2025 18:27

Looks really good on you, and absolutely doesn’t look anything like a “wedding dress”. I really would go with it.

It’s not about it looking like a wedding dress. Some say it’s because white will massively stand out in photos where really the bride should be the one standing out.

Many couples wouldn’t be bothered but when there’s a shitload of other colours you could wear, there’s absolutely no reason to wear a white dress.

FKAT · 06/07/2025 18:42

it's fine.

I own a long white lace dress (very hippie summer holiday vibe) I wouldn't wear that to a wedding but yours looks in no way bridal.

digiwidgy · 06/07/2025 18:42

I would wear it if already owned. That said, it’s an invite, not a summons to a wedding and I won’t be told what I can and cannot wear. It’s a nice summer dress and nothing like a wedding dress.

FrodoBiggins · 06/07/2025 18:43

It actually looks much nicer on you than on the photo but obviously you can't wear it to a wedding as its a bloody white dress. Silly DH

BringYourOwnBullshit · 06/07/2025 18:45

Lovely dress OP but not for a wedding

Wouldn’t a bright red or hot pink dress stand out more in a photo?

SheSpeaks · 06/07/2025 18:48

It’s a lovely dress.

I have no social skills clearly because I have and would wear white to a wedding, and can’t see a single reason why you shouldn’t.

I would wear it as a guest no problems and any guest would be welcome to wear it at my wedding if they were happy.

Stripeyanddotty · 06/07/2025 18:48

I think it’s absolutely fine to wear that to a wedding.

luckylavender · 06/07/2025 18:49

It’s completely fine

2025ismybestyear · 06/07/2025 18:19

It looks exactly the same. I can’t see how anyone hates it on the model but likes it on the OP. It’s a nice summer dress. not my style but it’s pretty

OP of you could swap out the sash with a black patent belt and wore black shoes and a black bag and maybe something black on your head you’d probably be fine.

Exactly- this thing about standing out is just fucking nonsense.
In a group photo - everyone will have different colours on and have no idea how this dress would ‘stand out’.

I think it’s a lovely dress, really suits you and wouldn’t cross my mind this wouldn't be suitable for a wedding.

I have no idea why I click on these threads as they just enrage me.
