Summer shoes to replace white trainers

What do people wear these days?? I always wear Superga white trainers or Van type slip on trainers but I'm not sure things are going to cut it this year. I don't like the clumpy strappy sandals. Any ideas?

I've just googled Gazelles and they're LOVELY!!
I like the shape of the "indoor" ones. For those who know this brand, are they definitely not suitable for wearing outside?

Maybe it's the.light/white sole? Like in the olden days at school as they are supposed to be retro? Light sole green flash for the gym.

I have an ankle issue and for some reason any trainers are agony to wear after a bit.
