Summer shoes to replace white trainers

What do people wear these days?? I always wear Superga white trainers or Van type slip on trainers but I'm not sure things are going to cut it this year. I don't like the clumpy strappy sandals. Any ideas?

The Gazelles look good but are they supportive for the arch? They look a little flat and I have to avoid eg Converse for that reason. I do have these Nike ones which I love.

I find gazelle too flat and narrow tbh. Campus however are very comfortable. Slight platform, and not as narrow as gazelles. I do have broad feet so that might be issue, i did get some gazelles as a present and love them but only to wear for short periods of time, and potentially wouldn’t purchase them again.

For god's sake if you love the look just carry on wearing it. I am. I don't give a shit what people whose job it is to flog clothes tell me is the next big thing, or the sheep who follow them, think about it.

Why do so many eejits post this on the Style and Beauty page?!
Some people dont care about fashion and what's current or popular, and others post on this topic because they do.
Fuck off with your rudeness.

Me!
Bought these Sambas half an hour ago, I find the style neater than the Gazelle.

How many pairs of shoes have been bought as a result of this thread? Mine are arriving this afternoon 😆

Meant to include this quote in my post.

Nice! I bought Sambas too. They are nice and sleek. Rishi be damned.

OP, I would stick to what you know, but just update the colours. These are cut and would go with just about anything.

You would aslo be surprised that a bright orange or lime green matches so many colours in your wardrobe. I have a pair of lemony-green sandals that look nice with jeans, skirts and shorts. Surprisingly versatile. Close to this colour.

I found Sambas more comfy than gazelles, less narrow and softer.

I do find those Superga trainers really comfy even when it's boiling. I always travel in them in the summer too. Very lightweight like plimsolls rather than trainers.

This thread has been very expensive for me...😆

I'm going to have to hide this thread. I've just bought two pairs of the Supergra trainers in the sale. Not a brand I've ever heard of! But I haven't heard of most of the brands on this thread. I am old and out of touch. Plus my feet are so awkward to fit I usually avoid anything new to me online. Living on the edge now. 😂

jolies1 · 03/04/2025 10:36

My order of Saucony trainers has just arrived… super comfortable and lightweight. Also eyeing up the hot pink Gola trainers in Anthropologie…

Christine1998 · 03/04/2025 12:50

Love this thread, however my bank balance doesn’t 😂😀. Deichmann has a good offer on at the min for anyone interested. Buy one get one half price.

ladygindiva · 03/04/2025 14:46

I love an espadrille in summer. Or Toms pumps.

Lioncubhearted · 03/04/2025 16:44

@Gundogday 😫pretty blue shoes packed up ready to send back. Despite having a pair of Rosalie's in a size 43 which fit perfectly, these are a good cm larger and don't fit at all. I've ordered another pair of Rosalie 29's (the ones I already have) in black instead 🤞

Londonmummy66 · 03/04/2025 18:46

My 21 year old has a pair of silver Reebok trainers that she lives in at the moment - she says they are very comfortable - she's always very on trend and put together - goodness knows where she got that from.

Gettingbysomehow · 03/04/2025 19:44

I have around 100 pairs of shoes. I am a shoeaholic but I've lost 5 stone and they are now all too big/loose 😭it's a tragedy. I love being slim for the first time in years but my clothes shoes and underwear all need changing. I've gone fro. 36DD to 34B. I don't know what suits me anymore.

Well after saying i probs wouldn’t buy gazelles again 24 hours ago, and having already got numerous pairs of trainers (inc white ones) i’ve just been browsing facebook and saw an advert that JD had mint green with the pinks stripes that i desperately wanted last year but they were never in stock lo and behold they are now……. Couldn’t resist 🙈. I’m justifying to myself that i need more trainers as they are good for my feet after a foot op last year 😂.

Get the next size down!

Off to Google Rosalie 29s…

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 03/04/2025 21:12

I like trainers with dresses. Fuck it.

EastCoastDweller · 05/04/2025 13:35

My Hotter sandals/shoes and Supergra trainers arrived. Sadly the Hotter ones both had to go back. The left foot was fine but the fit on the right foot wasn't going to work (bunion). The Supergra trainers are fine. The colour is much paler than on the screen but I'm happy with that. I don't think they will work without socks and I think might need some sort of liner/heel grip but as a nice light weight alternative to winter shoes I'm hoping they will be fine. So thanks to everyone who mentioned them.

I think I'm done with ordering shoes online though. I'll stick to shops I can visit.

Currently on a tube train into central London - Saturday night so packed with young people. It’s been a lovely sunny day and I’d say 80% - men & women - are wearing white trainers of various brands. Not saying it’s all high fashion but no way are they are out yet.

Blueuggboots · 05/04/2025 19:14

I wear keen Ella back strap sandals if I want something to wear with a dress/skirt or if I need to be really really comfortable, I wear keen sandals. Yes, they’re ugly but they’re also incredibly comfortable and waterproof.
