Is it too early to talk about summer dresses?

Over the past couple of years I’ve bought a couple of gorgeous summer dresses that were shared on here.

I thought I’d start a thread to see what everyone is buying this year? I’ve looked around and not seen anything I really like yet. Maybe it’s too early. I’ve lost weight so I might go for shorter, fitted dresses rather than floaty ones to cover up my weight.

Seeing @justasking111 post about hedge trimming was immediately straight after mine about needing to do my legs, I did wonder if Mr Justasking was getting his hedge trimmers out to do my legs!

Nope. I stopped shaving years ago and life is so much happier. I admit to plucking my increasing numbers of chin hairs, though that is a year round task.

My legs stay in trousers and maxis all summer so I literally only shave up to my knees.
Nobody needs to know about my gorilla thighs!😅

I used to live somewhere really humid and so clothes were thin and I tried to wear as little as possible. Whilst there I lasered my legs and arms. I’ve had 3 hairs on my legs for 20 years. I’ve been doing my arm pits and bikini line all winter with a Philips lumea and a bit of underarm help from a local practise. I also use it on my chin. It has got rid of most of them, just leaving 2 or 3 buggers (now opaque not dark) to deal with.

I hate hair, and it’s noticeable as I am really pale, but dark hair and so am happy to zap it off.

Wore my summer dress today but despite the sunshine gave up wearing it as its very chilly out there!

It's so annoying! I wore a white t shirt today thinking I'd be ok in the office and froze my tits off.

And I wore a thick jumper to work today as it was -2 when I set off for work. The office is south facing and the sun was pouring in all day. I wish I had worn what I was planning to wear - a blouse and cardigan.

well, Im still wearing alot of my summer dresses....it would just be nice to wear them without thermal vest, 2nd top, thermal leggings and several pairs of socks!

I'm only five feet tall but I'm afraid I'm under norked. If I had norks I'd be showing those babies off make no mistake.

If I had more curves I would definitely show them off. I don't understand women who don't want to make the most of their assets.

I'd be showing those babies off - Yes! Invest in really good bras. Choose tops & dresses that go in at the middle. If there's more than one size difference between your bust and hips, wear separates. You'd look great in wide-legged trousers with wrap tops.

I wanted this dress all last year, but it had sold out everywhere. But I see it has reappeared. I showed my husband and he was very confused by why I would be wearing a fish. That dress is gorgeous I would wear it. If she's 5 ft 11 and that's XS it would bury me I'm only five feet tall so I'd have to have the hem taken up a lot.

Being short I've spent all my adult life shortening maxi dresses. It's quite relaxing, hemming in the evening in front of the TV. I've shortened a gazillion pairs of trousers too. 😁

I'm rubbish at sewing I usually drop them off at my mum's. She was a machinist and when I was little she would make all my clothes. Now it's more expensive to buy the material than buy clothes.

I have a real love of summer dresses, but live UP NORTH and will probably be in jumpers for another 2 months at least. Bring on the summer sales!

I think I love summer dresses that are totally inappropriate for my lifestyle.
I have bought several off Vinted that people have worn once or twice to weddings or for cruises and i'll chuck them on for a Tesco trip or a dog walk!😄

I just love swanning about on a sunny day like a lady from a shampoo commercial.....and im of an age where i couldnt give a feck what anybody thinks about it!

Unfortunately most retailers only focus on regular and or petite sizes and maxi dresses aren’t true maxis if you are 5’10’ and above and sadly we can’t add extra length to the bottom even if we could find the material (I can sew and would happily do this if we could) but sadly the waist, pockets and any darts or anything else is too high or in the wrong place for us. Also if you are tall and plus sized you can totally forget it.

@RachelleHulme, that was my thought too.... I love it, but the reviews are a bit mixed on the sizing. I am short so would definitely have to chop a foot off the bottom.
