Is it too early to talk about summer dresses?

Over the past couple of years I’ve bought a couple of gorgeous summer dresses that were shared on here.

I thought I’d start a thread to see what everyone is buying this year? I’ve looked around and not seen anything I really like yet. Maybe it’s too early. I’ve lost weight so I might go for shorter, fitted dresses rather than floaty ones to cover up my weight.

Those gold shoes are nice, and very reasonably priced.

I love these Rosalie 13 for summer, partly because I don’t like opened toe shoes. I wear them with everything during the summer.

Not quite as dressy as the gold, but they’re my workhorse and are really comfortable and hardwearing..

I have these and worn them to death. Do you wear them bare foot or with little footsie things?
Going to get some new ones this year as the inside sole has developed a hole under my heel. Shame as the rest of them are still perfect but like I say I have had them years.

I bought a black crappy magi dress from Morrisons for £15 last year. It was so fab I went back after holiday and bought the other two colour, blue and orange and they were half price. Can’t wait to wear them this year.

@BashfulClam I really think the quality of advice on S&B does seem to be slipping somewhat.*

*If crappy was an autocorrect for crepey then I withdraw my comment without reservation 😂

Oh dear I am now worried that crappy magi is A Thing and has just passed me by. Any which way you gave me a smile Bashful.

Ach auto typing. It’s a strappy maxi dress lol.

I’ve ordered this, seems a simple, chuck on type of dress.

I bought this too. I bought it in the black first and loved that, and then saw this pattern. I love an easy throw it on dress for summer. The waist is so flattering. M&S are amazing at the moment because most of theor clothes have a petite size. Shorter woman are stuffed now longer length dresses are in, unless there's a petite option they touch the floor on me! 😊

Ah, now I’ve picked it up and didn’t think it was flattering. Think I’m going to return it which is a shame as it would be such an easy, simple dress. I’ve got quite big boobs and I think the neckline/tshirt material did nothing for me. The waist is ok but then the material kind of gathers up below the waist and wasn’t very flattering over my stomach.

Barefoot. I find them comfortable to walk in as well, maybe not a hike across Snowdonia, but a walk along a promenade definitely. I basically live in them from (warm ) April onwards.

I tried the black one on in store today and it was hideous on me. Far too much fabric in the skirt and I think it was designed for somebody much taller than I am.

@sunshineandrainbow. Finery London do quite a few 100% cotton dresses in the style you may like .

Chelsea2026 · 17/03/2025 09:32

Heatwave coming on Thursday this week - it could hit 18/19 degrees on Thursday. Time to get my summer dresses back out!

justasking111 · 17/03/2025 10:20

Ugh shaving time once again 😁😁

@uhohjojo @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie @CerealPosterHere

I saw this dress online and wondered about trying it - I had the fear that it might gather too much too high and emphasise my tummy, but M&S did a similar one in white last year and it really flatters. I think the jury is out here, so I might have to order and see what side I come down on (and report back 😀)

I have just had a bath and epilated my legs for the first time since last autumn. That's a sign spring is on its way ☀️🦵

I can’t work out if you mean to actually trim hedges in spring or to defuzz you (due to leg shaving chat) 😂 please clarify my brain wants to know!
