I thought this might make you laugh. In hospital, nearly 9hrs of surgery and I am still able to say to the nurse “is that baccarat you’re wearing?”

@HolidayHattie I've used a dab of Vaseline on my skin to try and fix a perfume for longer. It works with some perfumes. Anything citrus based tends to disappear no matter what you do!

So the matiere premiere discovery box arrived. I've put Encens Suave on today - this is a lovely deep scent that is supposedly incense and vanilla but to me smells almost chocolatey - its a lovely scent, not sure I'd want to get more than the tiny sample and it's probably more one to wear in winter. Think it is supposed to have coffee notes but it's a sweet coffee, although never sickly.

BDK Impadia today. I really like this. I've only got a tiny sample of it and I don't know if I'd want a big bottle of it but I'll be looking out for it in edits etc.

Not sure how to describe it - it's a bit rose ish but has an underlying kick of something that fragrances like Vanilla Powder or Mojave Ghost have. Whatever that something is I'm always drawn to it.

A good spray of Bal d’Afrique at Heathrow Airport this morning and I can still smell it now. Lovely!

Juniper Sling today. Lovely G&T scent on first application, dried down to something slightly sweeter, then faded away to nothing.

On with the mat prem samples and I think I am actually in love with crystal saffron, sch a gorgeous unique scent.

No perfume for me today, going away with a friend who reacts badly to any perfume, as it triggers her asthma. So rehab time for me!

I am forever on the hunt for the perfect, realistic pear scent. Goutal Petite Cherie today, this is a beautiful, juicy, ripe pear with a clean / soapy drydown. Love the juiciness of the opening but wish it stayed there, I’m not big on clean scents.

I love pear. Watching with interest.

Trying Laboratory Perfumes Gorse today. Mostly just coconut so far, which is a lot disappointing.

Probably good to give your skin a rest.

I miss the daily check in here, but I haven't been as much into perfume since my trip in March. I will get the new Valaya exlusif at some point - not sure if I will get 30 or full size. It could be occasion or I am trying to lose some weight - if I hit my next big milestone.

I am going to over 30's disco and I am wearing half a bottle (well maybe not half but at least 8 sprays) of Maiami Nectar. I is fun but I wish it was longer lasting.

I am actually getting perfume 'cravings' but I think a few days off will do me good. Can't work out if it is just a habit now or some sort of low level addiction. But definitely it will be good for my skin to have a few days off as I was getting recurring dermatitis.

Not back til Tuesday, however will I cope?

Endymion concentré today - the last one from the Penhaligon's discovery set. I must have tried this previously, because the spray is half empty, but I didn't make any notes and couldn't remember it.

It's another masculine leaning scent, but I like it. Floral / herbal to start but quickly moves to leather/suede/smoky tone and now I've got some spice coming through. Not a summer daytime scent for me, but for evenings or autumnal days it would be nice.

The original Gucci Flora. Bought when it came out worn a couple of times and left in the depths of my perfume cabinet… nice but I just don’t feel it

I’ve always been a bit confused by gorse perfumes and candles smelling of coconut until I went for a walk among a load of gorse in full flower recently and the smell of coconut was incredible!

Hi everyone! I was on one of the older threads but took a perfume break for a while - happy to be back!

SOTD for me is Baccarat Rouge Extrait. The opening doesn’t have the same airiness as the EDP; it’s definitely denser and has an added element of almond which I like. Can’t decide if I prefer it to the EDP or think it’s worth the additional price though…

SOTD: Babylon. A definite cold weather / evening scent. Very nice but far too similar to my beloved Ministry of Oud Greatest to make it worth buying. The dry down is less sweet than Greatest and slightly less spicy; i put a tiny spray of Greatest on my elbow for comparison. Babylon is fading more quickly, too, although lasting longer than many of the Penhaligon's scents.

Felt like something a little quieter today, Molecule 01 + black tea. I do enjoy the + collection.

SOTD for me is Amouage’s Love Tuberose. Absolutely love this perfume, it’s very creamy and pretty. Would definitely recommend for anyone who likes tuberose
