Vilhelm faces of francis today, layered with mat prem vanilla powder.

I've bought some more mat prem samples - harvey nicks are doing a deal at the moment. The selection box of 10 for £50 with 10% off and a goodie bag if you spend over £120. 10% off is on most perfumes, in case my fellow perfumistas need to stock up!

Oh and the goodie bag has some perfumes in - fugazzi, hermetica, the salted caramel sol de janeiro and a tiny ds and durga along with some beauty products.

Imon this thread to learn and get ideas but sometimes I wish you would all stop enabling me! I'm making a rare visit to the city (not London) which has a Harvey Nicks on Thursday and I'm very tempted to order something for collection in store.

I did enjoy The Favourite yesterday but it didn't have any longevity. Very quickly dissipated and I had to stick my nose right onto my wrist to smell it at all.

I've read that if you apply body lotion first, the perfume will last longer, but can anyone recommend an unscented body lotion to use?

Quercus today - still working through my Penhaligon's discovery set. I expected an "oak" perfume to be heavy, like a heavily baked wine, but it's not at all. Quite fresh and citrusy with some nice depths to it. Interesting and I like it. Think on the whole I like quite a lot of masculine/ unisex scents on me.

Paco Rabanne Olympia - live the salty vanilla and seems to work well on my skin when it warms up.

I did, thanks. Now I'm just sweating on whether it will be available to collect on Thursday. Because one item I fancied (Maison Crivelli) said NOT available for collection, I thought that meant the others would be instantly available, which is not the case.

SOT evening is jpg le male le parfum, I heard this was a lovely scent for men and women and I'm not a fan of gendering things in general.. the rebel in me likes the idea of wearing a perfume literally called le male

It's rather lovely, lavender and vanilla and not one the boys should gatekeep!

As the Crivelli wasn't available, I went for your recommendation of Mat Prem, plus Tocca and Goldfield & Banks. Yet more discovery sets to add to my ever-growing pile.

Initio Musk Therapy today. It’s a clean, soft, powdery musk with some citrus and sandalwood in the drydown. The notes also list blackcurrant and some reviewers say this is a softer version of bal d’afrique but im not getting that. It’s nice and non offensive none the less. I’ll enjoy my decant but don’t think this is full bottle worthy for me.

Guerlain Vol de Nuit today, it's raining and I feel in need of that enveloping "guerlinade".

MFK gentle fluidity gold today. Forgot how much I love this one, ticks all my.boxes for being a warm , sweet, spicy but not too heavy vanilla.

I find MFK a love/hate house for me but hrs pulled a blinder with this one.

I miss this Boots range, it smelt divine!

Penhaligon's Lord George today. Not so keen on this; having previously said that I tend to like masculine-leaning scents, this one is too much. It gives me a gentleman's club vibe with wood panelled walls, leather armchairs and some smoke. A bit of spice would help it but is lacking.

Crivelli iris malikhan today. This one got compliments in the office on Monday... maybe I oversprayed!

Thought I had shot myself in the foot because when I checked my Harvey Nicks order this morning, it was still "awaiting fulfilment " but thankfully I've just had the email to say it's ready to collect. Phew!

This is a house I'm interested in - they do a discovery set of 10 tinies for £37.50 so it's certainly on my list - my mat prem discovery set should be arriving today so I'll maybe wait until I've got through that

Finally got to try this (Gritti Duchessa) today. I'm getting pure Cherry Bakewell Tart. Liking it so far but it's still early days.

SDJ 39 layered with Kayali Maui in a Bottle today from the tester kit I linked above. Clearly I'm craving a beach holiday on some level.

Both lovely summery scents. Kayali Maui is very sweet, almost a little too sweet (think foam banana sweets) and the SDJ 69 is toasted coconut and sunscreen- really like this one. I think they go nicely together .

Also on the beach theme... mugler alien goddess intense which is vanillary with a slightly salted caramel type feel. I'm.obsessed with all the aliens, although extraintense is the best imo.
I'm enjoying mixing up the designer and the niche, sometimes the easiness of the designer frags is just what I want.
