Recommend me a chunky cosy wool jumper

I am after a brand that does good quality chunky pure wool or alpaca jumpers in neutral colours. I already shop in the likes of Arket and Cos. Also rate Celtic but wanted a bit of an upgrade. I know Babaa have what I am looking for, but ideally something a bit more affordable...Are there certain brands you'd recommend to go for? Don't mind spending more, maybe up to £200

Really happy, it's fantastic quality and just the style I wanted 😊 though in retrospect maybe a different colour would have been more practical, now I am just going to be paranoid that I will stain it!

To be honest I would agree that Arket and Cos and even Sezane have been going downhill lately, so the quality is not the same. You only need to look at the fabric composition label to find higher and higher percentages of polyester and acrylic rather than pure wool. Not something I want in a jumper. There are some good finds on Vinted from a few years ago where the quality was still there. Community clothing and some of the other more niche brands like Charl sound fab and look a bit more modern compared with the likes of Brora. I am not a big fan of patterns and bright colour ways. Guess I am off to save up for my next purchase!

COS and Arket have never been great … they are part of H&M… use the same factories and as you noticed the composition isn’t great - I doubt they use nice quality wool either !

Charl is great but do look at Genevieve Sweeney too ! And Johnson’s of Elgin ! Johnson’s knit everything in their factory in Scotland and often use British wool and Scottish spun cashmere !

Yep buy some yarn and a pattern and kit from wool and the gang !

Johnson’s of Elgin is really pricey even in the sale! I like the look of Genevieve Sweeney but not sure about the style. I usually like the looser silhouette and it's really hard to see online exactly how it fits on the model...The colours are lovely though

You can get Johnson’s much cheaper in the sale, they last for ages I have Johnson’s knitwear from 15 years ago and it’s still like almost new ! Genevieve is not tight fitting it’s really lovely I have a few of her pieces

But &Daughter is an excellent choice ! They use Todd and Duncan Yarn which is what Johnstons often use !

Just returning to this thread to ask anyone who owns a Babaa jumper have they been brave enough to actually wash it? I have 2 and I wear them on repeat during the winter months but I am terrified to wash them in case I shrink them.
