Recommend me a chunky cosy wool jumper

I am after a brand that does good quality chunky pure wool or alpaca jumpers in neutral colours. I already shop in the likes of Arket and Cos. Also rate Celtic but wanted a bit of an upgrade. I know Babaa have what I am looking for, but ideally something a bit more affordable...Are there certain brands you'd recommend to go for? Don't mind spending more, maybe up to £200

Best charity shop bargain ever was a 100% wool jumper by a Swedish brand called Holebrook. Quality is lovely, but they are not cheap. You can buy direct from them in Sweden but will have to factor in the additional taxes after Brexit, or I think they have UK stockists too.

On a par with the Brora/Eribe brands price wise.

You've all been such bad influences 🤣

Please can someone recommend a debobbler?

The Philips battery one mentioned up thread is very good.

Ooooh - I love that, OP!

I am deliberately not looking if there's a dark green or blue equivalent as I'm trying not to spend.

So funny, OP said I want chunky pure wool or alpaca jumpers in neutral colours and posters pile in with links to fine knits and vibrant patterns!

And Oodies 🙄😁

I bought a Zadig& Voltaire in the sale for £300 before Christmas. Wish I’d waited now. So many lovely jumpers on this thread. Will definitely look through some of those suggestions before my next jumper purchase.

It's this one. Women's Wool Crew Neck Knit Jumper in Grey - Farne | Finisterre Though seems to be out of stock in most sizes now.

Love that @Lentilweaver I’m now considering the berry one but it’s not in the sale.

wolfmom · 18/01/2025 17:47

Not sure if I'm suddenly old but was browsing my mums cotton traders catalogue and saw some lovely jumpers

Leila2022 · 18/01/2025 18:23

I would be avoiding Arket and Cos at all costs … they aren’t quality at all … just more expensive versions - not quality wise - of H&M, nothing more than massively over priced tat !

if you want to invest in a sweater that will last forever and is sustainable look at brands like Jonstons of Elgin, Genevieve Sweeney … Charl , Bora… you can pick up amazing deals in the sale ! Even Toast has some lovely pieces now and then although they do sometimes pill when blended with alpaca and mohair etc

but pls avoid H&M brands

Leila2022 · 18/01/2025 18:25

They also make in the uk amazing factory

Leila2022 · 18/01/2025 18:28

Francesca who owns charl is an amazing designer ! She used to work for burberry ! Very very talented ! I would definitely buy from her or Genevieve Sweeney if you are looking for investment pieces !
