I couldn't see a new thread so I'm starting one!

Oh it's summer in bottle. When I was swimming in the sea on one of hte greek island last summer, I thought that's exactly how my skin smells after swim. But I feel spring is good time to wear it too ... or in my case any time I need some summer vibes in my life.

Today SOTD - Atelier Cologne Clementine California or something like that. I love Athelier Cologne citruses but they don't last well at all

Lurkingshark · 05/02/2025 15:28

SOTD Rare Beauty Find comfort body spray. Someone recommended it and I went to smell IRL.

A cheeky new purchase with the recent SPACE NK discount. Surprisingly long lasting and definitely dry down Byredo vibes. I think it layers nicely with floral/musky tone.

paristotokyo · 05/02/2025 16:32

Not my usual vibe but got a 10ml of sweet tooth really cheaply and I don't like it at all. The packaging is so badly made also for the 10ml, it's like something you'd pick up at the pound shop Blush going to pass this one to teen niece who will be happy with it I think. She often does well from me!

Magpiecomplex · 05/02/2025 18:00

@SabrinaPrune we really do have almost opposite tastes in perfume! Although I agree on Invite Me In. That was just nasty.

TheLongRider · 05/02/2025 18:56

DD likes all the floral, sweet and soapy scents. I prefer spice and leather and green, with occasional forays into rhubarb, blackcurrant and grapefruit. Between us we cover quite a lot of perfumes!

CP1978 · 05/02/2025 14:51

This is my absolute Summer staple, it's such a stunning fragrance. To me it smells like a Summery version of Le Labo Another 13.. cannot wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear it!

I find Tom Ford Soleil Blanc reminds me of Arizona bloom, although AB is far cheaper so if it works no need to seek out the more expensive SB. One to try if you like that kind of scent though ( if you aren't already familiar with it)

I know right and now I can’t get rid of it!

FestivelyScent · 05/02/2025 23:26

SOTD was Shalimar, which I haven't worn for years, but annoyingly it gave me a migraine. It's one of my favourites, too! Before the headache hit, I was reminded how similar Chanel Le Lion is, although Le Lion is somehow much richer and more sumptuous, and definitely heavier. Shalimar has more poise, though, I think, and is so well balanced and light yet full. The price difference is absolutely incredible.

SOTN is Chanel No5. Which always makes me think of spring for some reason - must be its effervescent sparkle.

In keeping with this, I have had my first most delicious Hot Cross Bun of the year this evening. 😊

paristotokyo · 06/02/2025 07:55

Sotd tom ford tobacco vanille. Love this. I'm not ready for spring freshies yet considering my car needed de-icing this morning.

IDontHateRainbows · 06/02/2025 07:59

I'm a fan of TF tobacco vanille too. Expensive, but perfumista do a decent 9ml sample for £31. Way cheaper than buying the official travel size!

Today I'm wearing mat prem vanilla powder. Office day, and this is quite strong so I'm hopefully not going to be a nuisance, but it's such a mellow scent despite the strength that I can't imagine being too offended by it.

Deathraystare · 06/02/2025 08:24

Zara Red Temptation.

MiaN · 06/02/2025 10:58

Inglorious Ginger. Definitely something I need to be in mood for but today I am loving it

paristotokyo · 06/02/2025 11:16

@IDontHateRainbows ooh great tip, thanks

Magpiecomplex · 06/02/2025 12:36

Sana Jardin Vanilla Nomad today. I'm getting a big animalic note, which I don't mind, but it's drowning out the vanilla/benzoin. It has some similarities to Shalimar, and I prefer Shalimar.

Deathraystare · 06/02/2025 15:41

Zara Red Temptation again!

That's another do-i -like-it-do-i-not one for me. I always think it smells slightly herbal/ medicininal. Eau de cough sweet!

IDontHateRainbows · 07/02/2025 08:06

SOTD is D&G Devotion. It's very lemony but not a sharp lemon, a soft powdery lemon with a creamy base. It may not be the most sophisticated of perfumes but I like it!

Deathraystare · 07/02/2025 08:10

Zara Red Temptation again because it is in my bag and I do like it!

schmalex · 07/02/2025 10:21

Hello, hope you don't mind me joining. SOD is Diptyque Eau Capitale. I discovered this after smelling it on a shop assistant in a lovely boutique, and it turned out she discovered it by smelling it on someone else and asking them the name too! It's quite an intense rose-based scent with a lot of sillage (DH claims he can smell it downstairs when I put it on in the bedroom). I love it.

IDontHateRainbows · 07/02/2025 13:44

I've never really got on with diptyque - thought I'd like philosopykos but I found it a bit too fresh and not very strong (this could be me - I'm probably anosmic after huffing perfume all day long)

Really falling in love with Matiere Premiere Parisian Musc - which is strange cos I didn't like it at first. Its still quite sweet and heavy but with a green figgy element to it. Like a fig version of gourmand. And mat prem seem to last a lot longer than Byredo, which I think I'm over now. Nice as their scents are I resent paying £££ for something that fades after an hour

AprilLady · 07/02/2025 14:01

I do really rate Diptyque. Favourites are Philosykos, L’Ombre dans L’eau and Eau Rose. I really like Eau Capitale, but found it very similar to FM’s Portrait of a Lady and modestly preferred that, so sold my bottle a little while ago.

Today’s scent is Bond No 9 Greenwich Village for a WFH day. Yesterday was FM En Passant for a day of in person meetings.

MiaN · 08/02/2025 06:36

Gris Charnel, I need something warm and cozy

IDontHateRainbows · 08/02/2025 07:04

I'd usually be chomping at the bit for a fragrance edit but I'm not too impressed with that one. And the malle, which is probably the best one, what'd the actual size?

IDontHateRainbows · 08/02/2025 10:38

Mat Prem vanilla powder today. I have twisted between loving this and thinking it smells of baking classes at school but back to loving it now. It is quite polarising though and I can see how some people find it too synthetic/waxy. It has a bit of coconut but I wouldn't say it's a beach -vibe vanilla, i'm not getting sunscreen vibes.

Looking foward to the deboxing of the DS and Durga set on my birthday on Monday, will be sure to update when I do as a few in there I haven't tried. I'm not expecting to love them all but I'm definitely not selling any as I want the whole experience of having a new box of different scents to try.
