Hobbs Farrah black boots

or

Whistles Piper black boots?

I like both. My instinct is that the Whistles ones have a bit more chunkiness and now fashion cred, but the Hobbs ones might have more longevity precisely because they are a bit less overtly of the moment.

@POBCOB thank you for the link. I'd actually had those on my pondering list as I also liked the look and the zip on the side as it just makes life easier. Found a brand new pair in box on Ebay for £49 in what is typically my size, as sold out on the site, so decided to go for it hoping they're true to size. Fingers crossed!

I love mine, they fit very well and comfy to wear and what a bargain you found on EBAY. I paid £65 for mine on Brand Alley. Good luck 😊

I don’t understand the love for Grenson. I think those metal eyelet things look quite odd, like your boots are wearing braces.

They make more than one model of boot or shoe, @Jaehee! Not sure any of mine have metal eyelets. (Though I don’t mind them.)

But they really are in the eye of the beholder. Even my less favoured pairs prompt complete strangers to chase after me in the street to compliment them. 🤷‍♀️

My Grensons don't have metal eyelets.

Hobbs. I have a pair of Hobbs boots that I bought in 1993. Still wear them. Still great quality.

I don't know if they still make them but I got a similar - and blooming lovely pair from &otherstories... really stompy but not too butch.
