Help me pick the better boots

Hobbs Farrah black boots

or

Whistles Piper black boots?

I like both. My instinct is that the Whistles ones have a bit more chunkiness and now fashion cred, but the Hobbs ones might have more longevity precisely because they are a bit less overtly of the moment.

I marginally prefer the Whistles ones but they are really similar so it should come down to which you find most comfortable.

Another vote for Whistles! I prefer the narrower ankle on them.

I think it has become clear to me that I want you-all to talk me into the Whistles ones 😍but I actually might get both to try.

I was thinking exactly the same. I'd probably have to try on 10 pairs of boots that I like the look of to find one comfortable enough for my difficult feet.

The Hobbs ones are neither here nor there. The Whistles ones are plainly chunky (and look more expensive!); the Hobbs ones a bit meh.

Because they don't really look like them. Not in the details. Fashion innit. Details matter.

They both look like fake Docs. Just go and get the real thing - it’s the same price point.

Oh I like them both! And I agree with you @DreadPirateRobots they're not DMs, and detail matters very much in fashion. It's not like DM is the pinnacle either...a bit too ubiquitous these days.

I honestly like them both and would have a hard time choosing between them; it'd probably come down to which one was more comfortable. Or I might keep them both. <enabler>

Whilst I definitely prefer the Whistles ones, I do agree you're basically replicating the DM style. I'm not really a fan of the zip and lace thing. One or the other surely? But decorative laces are a bit weird.

The Hobbs ones, I had some very similar ones that lasted decades. I think they were Jones ones. Very versatile and worked with lots of different clothes. I wear skirts and dresses but don’t like shoes much.

Just pick the most comfortable pair
