I see women in leggings or jersey trousers with short tops and they don't have a VPL. how?!?! Please tell me I don't have to resort to thongs

Thongs
commando

I used to wear thongs then common sense kicked in.
Commando all the way.

kidding.
A thong on occasion would be ok or do you live in leggings?

Illpickthatup · 01/10/2024 11:58

You can buy seamless pants. I actually find a full brief is better. Pants that cover your entire cheek rather than the ones where the elastic cuts into your bum cheek.

seamless knickers

I've previously seen a thread talking about them and seemed a lot of people hate them but I absolutely love them

minipie · 01/10/2024 12:01

Can anyone link to some of these seamless knickers that don’t give VPL under leggings?

I’d like to lose the VPL but I’m not doing thongs

Ihateboris · 01/10/2024 12:04

I wear Hanky Panky thongs. They're really comfortable (unlike most thongs!)

thecatneuterer · 01/10/2024 12:05

I say this every time on these threads. I buy normal multi pack knickers (I like the shorts style, but it would work with any) but, I buy them two sizes bigger than my size in trousers. They don't look big, but they don't dig in to the skin at all, they just sort of sit on top of it, so no lines are created.

Cobblersorchard · 01/10/2024 12:07

Commando.

Alas not an option for me but I do have some seamless ones that are almost invisible- not 100%. I go for some shorts ones but if you look closely you can see where they stop on my thigh, but I’m less self conscious of that!

I can’t go commando because I have so much discharge (perimenopause is a joy).

BaronessBomburst · 01/10/2024 12:08

Agree with PP. Always buy a size bigger than you need, big knickers, thin fabric. They won't show.

I have seamless but they are still visible! I'll try this - sounds genius. I usually go for a bikini knicker but maybe a full brief would sort this

I wear Tokyo Laundry thongs, I promise it's not like having your arse crack flossed. They're dead comfy.

I've also got some seamfree briefs from Jockey that don't do the annoying rolling thing that some seamfree pants do. They're not flawless but you'd have to be right up my arse with a magnifying glass to see the line.

DGPP · 01/10/2024 12:09

I buy M&S no VPL thongs, I think they are better than the no VPL briefs.

TheDogsMother · 01/10/2024 12:11

No VPL full briefs at least one size up.

Gymmum82 · 01/10/2024 12:11

Doesn’t matter how squat proof your leggings are you can still see knickers through them. Thongs are the only way unfortunately. You can find comfortable ones

Sallysoup · 01/10/2024 12:13

Brazilian style thongs rather than stringy thongs, just as comfortable as knickers if you buy a big enough size. IME just being a tiny bit too tight makes them unwearable so I size up.

I'm sure it works with any style.

wonderwooman · 01/10/2024 12:22

I find seamless pants in TK Maxx - I go for a fuller fit & they usually have a decent selection of sets of 3/4/5

FriendlyNeighbourhoodAccountant · 01/10/2024 12:25

I wear lace-like thongs (specifically lace as I find the material doesn't dig in), just the regular black ones from Primark. The other option is wearing massive, massive pants. Like good ol' Bridget Jones knickers. The seams are more upper thigh than bum so you don't see them.

CuriousMoe · 01/10/2024 12:25

Nicky no knickers here!... Never wear them with gym leggings. They go straight in the wash after use anyway. Thongs otherwise... Primark do a good lacy pair, just go a size up so there is no line at all.

TinkerTiger · 01/10/2024 12:28

I have full briefs, they're high rise and cover below the bottom. I don't see lines in my gym leggings when I check in the mirror

StarlightLady · 01/10/2024 12:37

I tend to wear a mix of thongs and Brazilians for day to day wear. But for the gym, l go commando because they are going straight in the wash afterwards and it’s more comfortable.

But if you have a knickerline, all it means is that you have knickers, which most people do most of the time.

SeptTues · 01/10/2024 12:40

No hat, no drawers.

I'm off back to the 1950s

rumblegrumble · 01/10/2024 12:44

Thongs. I only wear them and have since my teens. I find them far more comfortable than proper knickers, though I know I'm in the minority. Probably just used to them as I can't even feel them.

Buildingthefuture · 01/10/2024 12:51

Sloggi Stringtime. Yes a thong but super comfy and no VPL in sight.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 01/10/2024 12:54

I must be the only woman who doesn't care about a knicker line. Nobody has ever commented to me about it and I would raise an eyebrow if they did.

Grinchinlaws · 01/10/2024 12:55

TheDogsMother · 01/10/2024 12:11

No VPL full briefs at least one size up.

Agreed. I go for 2 sizes up - so comfy!
