I see women in leggings or jersey trousers with short tops and they don't have a VPL. how?!?! Please tell me I don't have to resort to thongs

They're a bit pricey but I find my Sweaty Betty and LuluLemon leggings and shorts don't show VPL regardless of what knickers I've got on because the material is such good quality and kind of smooths everything out. Not really a general solution to your problem though sorry!

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 01/10/2024 13:02

M and s Brazilians, no vpl.

isthismylifenow · 01/10/2024 13:03

Now there are seamless no vpl undies, and then seamless no vpl undies.

The ones I always bought had a laser type cut at the edges, usually always scalloped. I wore these until they became a bit obscene, and then went to search for more. Nope, can't find these. All I can find now are (apparently) no vpl seamless undies, but they have an edge. Like a double layer of fabric edge rather than elastic or the likes. And they are not no vpl at all.

These are the bikini style, so not full but also not very tiny.

I am not in the UK so our selection is different, but I am that person who is studying all the underwear to try find the good old faithful's again.

So maybe I will take advise from pp and buy these edged ones in a bigger size.

I can find a billion pairs in brazilian and thong style. But I cannot cope with wedgies at all, so they don't work for me.

I say this every time on these threads. I buy normal multi pack knickers (I like the shorts style, but it would work with any) but, I buy them two sizes bigger than my size in trousers. They don't look big, but they don't dig in to the skin at all, they just sort of sit on top of it, so no lines are created.

Same, I get boy shorts in XL from Tesco and they don't show at all.

I know you are out of the UK but Next have scalloped edge ones fhwt.app.link/vttOLom6kNb

Microfiber knickers. No vpl

Goatblu · 01/10/2024 13:12

I always size up

Thank you so much, this is them!

I am a bit confused as to the style names though. The midi on here is what I was call a brief, and the brazilian is what I would call bikini (which is exactly what I am looking for). Brazilian here is like a thong, but not quite so thin in the butt area.

Diomi · 01/10/2024 13:25

I agree that it is all about bigger pants. Bought two sizes too big by mistake once and it was a revelation.

I took your advice after reading it on another thread months ago - purchased some new knickers in a size up - it works!

Purplecatshopaholic · 01/10/2024 13:30

Commando. Only wear leggings etc once then wash. Can’t bear underwear under tight leggings.

minipie · 01/10/2024 13:32

Right, sounds like 2 sizes up and boyshort is the way to go

I already buy pants a size up but not tried 2 sizes .

Thanks

Thongs. I only wear them and have since my teens. I find them far more comfortable than proper knickers, though I know I'm in the minority. Probably just used to them as I can't even feel them.

Are you in the minority? Don't most people wear thongs most of the time? Genuine question.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 01/10/2024 13:35

I find wearing these tend to disguise the VPL, and any manner of other things.

How do people not have a knicker line?
AllAboutNiamh · 01/10/2024 13:36

The only leggings I wear are gym leggings and I don’t wear knickers with them.

H34th · 01/10/2024 13:42

We could normalise knicker lines...
I don't look or care. Wear whatever is comfortable.
Most people assume you wear something under the trousers - why so desperate to give the impression you don't.

ooopsinamechangedagain · 01/10/2024 13:42

Seamless thong.

Gymnopedie · 01/10/2024 13:43

Again, thongs a size up. M&S cotton, not Anne Summers pillar box red cheese cutter nylon.

pandapopadance · 01/10/2024 13:43

Sweaty Betty thongs. You can't tell you are wearing them.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 01/10/2024 13:47

I cannot cope with thongs (have tried, bum-irritation by minute 5, maybe I just have a very sensitive anus or something...) so I wear M&S No VPL knickers in maxi style. They are very silky and comfortable, they work, and I've got them a size bigger than I need. In running gear, commando all the way, because I've got enough stress trying to get my miles in, I don't need to be hauling knickers out of my crack every 100 metres.

ItsFineReally · 01/10/2024 13:34

I don't know, I was under the impression most people find them horribly uncomfortable? Even the op say "Please tell me I don't have to resort to thongs". I do see a lot of people moaning about them, though in fairness maybe it's only the people who don't like them who talk about them - I suppose there's a possibility most people wear them and just don't feel the need to start threads enthusing about how much they like them!

No they really don’t- big knickers are the biggest seller but it varies by age.

I don’t have completely current data but a family member is in buying for a big retailer and they look after pants predominantly. It’s been many a topic of conversation over the years!

GameOfJones · 01/10/2024 14:13

As others have said, I buy basic multipacks of knickers but in a bigger size than my trouser size. I really rate the full brief style ones from Sainsbury's. They're thin, comfortable and wash well and no VPL.
