I think there was one a few months/weeks back but can't find it, so apologies if doubling up.
What perfume are you wearing today?
I will wear Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur in hope it will actually be warm today.

I like citruses in the summer too but most winter perfumes I have I would hate to smell in exercise class. I much prefer orange sanguine to any other orange scent (atelier cologne) but it is more natural orange. This one is basically fanta orange

IDontHateRainbows · 05/12/2024 09:21

Hera Reigns for me today. I feel like this is a sophisticated, serious scent - like a queen!

paristotokyo · 05/12/2024 09:32

Back to the kayali discovery set today for something fun for a day at home. Vanilla candy rock sugar. Knew this would be insanely sweet but it's literally bubblegum. This brand isn't for me I think and I doubt I'll be purchasing a full size of any but it's been fun trying the samples when I want to randomly waft around smelling like candy.

Even my 11 year old daughter found that one way too sweet and she's probably more the target market. They do seem to have gone sickly sweet with the latest offerings or has my nose changed. Still rate vanilla 28 and love fest burning cherry, also the Marrakesh in a bottle from the summer set but I'm.going off this brand truth be told

spikeandbuffy · 05/12/2024 10:34

I've not tried rock sugar but I think I'll like it

Going to head to boots at some point to have a sniff of that and the new one

psuedocream3 · 05/12/2024 10:50

I didn't mind rock candy as a bed time scent, but not one I would purchase, I found it much nicer than pistachio gelato, and sparkling lychee which was insanely sweet, I think I would only rebuy lovefest burning cherrry, as it is very similar to lost cherry, not quite as good on the almond, but at the price point I'ts on my to buy list.

SOTD - Angels Share again. Surprisingly, I had full on indulgent syrupy apple strudel and custard on intial spray. I'm putting money aside to monthly buy the large bottle next winter.

Lurkingshark · 05/12/2024 11:41

To whomever asked about the Liberty scent kits. I got it and tried the perfumer H first as it’s been on my list and £££. Both of them growers.

I also enjoyed the DS and Durga but I like molecules type scents, especially with a floral on top.

SOTD hedonist ex nihilio. Nice not too powerful and consistent dry down. Very happy to wear it but not straight to the top of the list

QueefofSheena · 05/12/2024 11:50

SOTD is Juliette’s Ex Vetiver from a BF reduced discovery set. I like it so far, it’s softer than I thought it would be. I’ll see how it dries down

paristotokyo · 05/12/2024 12:03

@IDontHateRainbows I want to try hera reigns as it's something I think I'd like. I've got ianthe oud coming to me in the post so looking forward to sampling that.

I've just had a delivery of Ianthe Oud today -it's not too dissimilar to Hera Reigns but I far prefer Hera Reigns myself.

paristotokyo · 05/12/2024 12:31

Will keep an eye for a vintage bargain.

Popped into my local JL and sampled mm by the fireplace as I see it talked about a lot. It's nice but not something I want to smell like, if that makes sense. My favourite candle is Diptyque feu du bois but I wouldn't want to wear it as a fragrance and this is similar. It's faded quite quickly too.

paristotokyo · 05/12/2024 12:32

Vinted* they really need to sort out an edit button on the app :)

IDontHateRainbows · 05/12/2024 12:38

Really not keen on the ianthe oud after a second spritz. If anyone wants it I'll happily send it on for free ( it's the 8ml large travel size) just DM me!

Deathraystare · 05/12/2024 12:40

Zara Red Temptation.

Howmanyroses · 05/12/2024 14:12

I've decided it's the oud I can't stand - just sampled Halfeti and the oud in that fragrance is overpowering everything else for me and makes me almost sick. I seem to gravitate towards rose and vanilla based scents. I am loving this perfume discovery journey so far!

I’ve just sent you a PM if that’s ok x

My liberty scent kit has arrived. And my Fugazzi Angel dust.

I daren’t try any tonight. I don’t want to go to be sick again. I will wait will my test strips arrive tomorrow.

If anyone has had the kit, do you have a recommendation on which to try first?

You try the Vanilla Powder, and tell me about it 😂
I'm desperate to try it, but can't face blind-buying the 6ml for 30 quid.

Angel Dust is lovely - it's a real intimate, classy yet casual, cashmere jumper of a fragrance.

happytobemrsg · 05/12/2024 14:59

@MiaN I do feel that now I have Halfeti, I know I love oud but I should branch out a bit. I will look into in the perfumes you mentioned. I’m slowing learning that I like rose (but not too much - I hated Penhaligon’s Elizabethan Rose!) & Oud and I dislike fresh citrus. Though I think DH would love your perfume today, he loves orange fanta as a kid!!

Woke up this morning & could still smell Empressa on me from yesterday. Must say I’m very impressed with how long these last! I’ve never had anything like it!

SOTD is Penhaligon’s Babylon as I fancied something vanilla from the Trade Routes set. I wasn’t over keen on this for the first hour or so but my goodness, it turned into a wonderful warm vanilla. It’s like a softer, warmer version of the Flowerbomb I used to love. I can’t stop sniffing it & I already feel gutted that I don’t have a full bottle. Like Halfeti, it has good sillage (thanks @MiaN , I’m learning!). I’ll be trying to figure out how I can purchase this one ASAP.

happytobemrsg · 05/12/2024 15:00

@Howmanyroses are you working through a particular discovery set?

I was going to try the vanilla powder from the kit but as it sells for a fair price on ebay and I needed to make some money back I had to let it go unfortunately.

Angel dust I was too scared to try after reading that Fugazzi scents can be quite overpowering, and having a bad experience with Fugazzi Workaholic so that one went too, but I'm glad you like it and maybe one day I'll get to try it

I used to wear by the fireplace a lot but have gone off it lately. I tried it blended with kayali vanilla 28 and that worked quite well together, the two balancing each other out. But either on its own doesn't work quite so well for me

happytobemrsg · 05/12/2024 15:44

Has anyone ever bought boxed perfumes on eBay? Are they too big a risk?

I have by the fireplace and wish I had bought the candle to be honest. I love the smell. But rarely reach for it to wear. So I totally agree.

I was talking to a friend and said I need to stop getting perfumes because I love the smell and think about whether I would actually wear it. Sometimes getting the candle is the right choice 😂

spikeandbuffy · 05/12/2024 16:04

I really like by the fireplace, it's on my perfume parlour list to buy! I had a couple of samples of it
Bonfire bash by bath and body works is similar but less smoky
