You just WANT it but you won’t or can’t buy it because it’s too impractical, too expensive, not a necessity, not sensible, unreasonable, etc. Every so often you’ll look at it online, sigh longingly, give the screen a loving stroke and sadly close the page.

I’d like to buy an old rundown chateau with lots of land and a lake at the back. I’d do it up and have horses, cats, dogs, chickens and other animals on the land.

This won’t happen because I don’t have enough money for even a tiny chateau, I’m crap at DIY so it would get more and more rundown, and I think I might be too lazy to look after lots of animals.

Just noticed this is style and beauty so I’d add an undercut like in the picture. I think it would look great on someone else but wouldn’t suit me.

I recently got a Siberian for my allergic child. He is utterly lovely in temperament and fur (the cat, not the child). He cost £1000, half as much as my banger car, but he is the best thing I have ever bought.

There's a jacket in a catalogue came today which is soooooooo me. It's beaut. But £100 and I can't justify spending that on an item of clothing for myself.
