What are you lusting over but will (probably) never get?

You just WANT it but you won’t or can’t buy it because it’s too impractical, too expensive, not a necessity, not sensible, unreasonable, etc. Every so often you’ll look at it online, sigh longingly, give the screen a loving stroke and sadly close the page.

I’m not a fan of the LV logos on bags but this I love!

I very much want that Tom Ford Portofino Neroli perfume! Have consoled myself with a dupe but it's not enough 😂

LadyLapsang · 07/04/2024 12:44

An expensive watch, but I’m too frightened of being mugged.

Isitbedtimeyet3 · 07/04/2024 12:45

Being able to wee uninterrupted 😂

RomeoRivers · 07/04/2024 12:55

2 weeks here! 😂

Wow, did you see the price?

Just looked at these and they are exactly what I’ve been searching for. Now to think of a reason to justify why I need a £95 pair of jeans….. 🤔

A pair of classic Levis is £100ish .
My DD used to wear TopShop jeans , then BDG from Urban Outfitters . She couldn't find a new pair she liked (DD is 5'7" and a size 6-8 so it should be easy , yes ? )

I persuaded her to try Levis and she's a convert now (and I had 20% off with my BlueLightDiscount )

£95 is an investment <enabler >

This dress. I've been watching it for at least a year.

The Row Lillibet dress

So so lovely. What a price!!

I hear ya Lady.
Sometimes I fantasise about winning loadsamoney.
I think I'd still dress like a pauper because I wouldn't want to be mugged.
P'raps drape myself in my finery when swanning about my house.

I was talking to my friend the other day about this, I'd love a vintage Rolex from my birth year (so more antique than vintage!) but my first choice would be this...

www.tiffany.co.uk/jewelry/bracelets/elsa-peretti-medium-bone-cuff-GRP11935/ (the medium gol one..)
I never, ever wear jewellery but I'd walk naked around the streets to show that off. Well, the house.. maybe just the bedroom then.

Oh wow! I now want this in silver, which whilst more affordable is still in the "maybe you should finish doing the falling down house you live in up first" bracket

Not very stylish or beautiful but a skip 😂
Would love to just chuck stuff without the faff of loading up the car and taking it to the tip Grin

I LOVE skips (both kinds).😄In the last 2-3 years I must have had 3 or 4 on the end of my drive. It's great just bringing things down and throwing them in, knowing that at the other end they will go through and recycle where possible. Each time my son tells me we won't fill it, but we do. (You aren't supposed to have things piled higher than the sides.)

We had some skip divers taking stuff out before it was collected too, so I went and put some more stuff in.

These Boots. But I can't see me spending that kind of money on myself.

Boots like this are an investment. They'll last as long as you do tbh

MartinLewisIsAmazing · 07/04/2024 13:17

A Brora gauzy snood, but in a nicer colourway than is currently available.

HolidayAtNight · 07/04/2024 13:21

Not aimed at one particular poster, but to everyone who doesn't get the things they love just because it's for them and not the children/family/whatever: there is nothing wrong with spending money on yourself and having lovely things! Obviously if you literally can't afford it it's different, but the use of 'on myself' implies that you WOULD spend that money on other people.

Whatineed · 07/04/2024 13:24

The Fossil Penrose Clutch with braiding. I absolutely love it, but I can't justify it atm...but....its so pretty.... 😅

Whatineed · 07/04/2024 13:27

Stunning, but perhaps you could have a Butler and Wilson one in a similar style? I found one very similar on Ebay a few years back.

Darklane · 07/04/2024 13:28

A double storey extension.
We live in an ancient cottage in the middle of nowhere, loads of moorland land but tiny house with a kitchen that would make a narrow boat galley seem spacious.

given that i am shorter than an oompa loompa, I suspect I would look ridiculous in something like that tbh lol. I just enjoy looking at beautiful things I will never wear. unfortunately I have a love for things that only tall statuesque women look good in....

thank you for the suggestion though ♡

A Maine Coon cat.

Me too, I'm very allergic to all cats and no amout of antihistamines would help, but I long for a Maine Coon cat. They're so bloody gorgeous.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 07/04/2024 13:37

A tiara.

Preferably this one.

And an occasion to wear it.

Lwrenn · 07/04/2024 13:45

Gastric sleeve and tummy tuck and new boobs and a facelift.

Nothing much really 😁

Defiantlynot41 · 07/04/2024 13:53

@MartinLewisIsAmazing have you looked at the John Lewis x Brora exclusive colours? This one is reduced but there is also en emerald green (sadly full price)

I have a JL own brand version and it is barely off my neck in winter and brilliant for those days when there is a cool breeze in autumn and spring too
