What are you lusting over but will (probably) never get?

You just WANT it but you won’t or can’t buy it because it’s too impractical, too expensive, not a necessity, not sensible, unreasonable, etc. Every so often you’ll look at it online, sigh longingly, give the screen a loving stroke and sadly close the page.

I’m not a fan of the LV logos on bags but this I love!

If we are allowed animals then a big daft male pointer, a couple of toggenburg goats and a chunky dun pony, oh and some chickens !

Otherwise a big squishy Tetrad sofa.

A skip, well lots of little skips, there is a local company that drops a skip, you fill it whilst they wait, they take it, empty it and bring it back, that's on my list for next month.

Oh and a lovely garden carrousel.

I have a big daft male pointer that you can have! He's extremely high maintenance, hates being left on his own (we even got him a brother and he hates being left with him too 😂), makes a LOT of noise (GSPs are renowned for being whiny), needs loads of exercise and costs us a fortune in food and dog sitters...Let me know when you want me to drop him off!

On a serious note, he's an absolutely brilliant dog, he has so much personality, is extremely loving and cuddly, daft as a brush, gets so much enjoyment out of life and there's nothing better than watching him and his brother running free out in the countryside where we live.

Definitely get one if and when you can afford it!

The Lyma laser; very tempted but worry the good reviews aren’t genuine.
Its 2K so a lot to spend if see minimal results.

This dress. I've been watching it for at least a year.

The Row Lillibet dress

I’d like to buy an old rundown chateau with lots of land and a lake at the back. I’d do it up and have horses, cats, dogs, chickens and other animals on the land.

This won’t happen because I don’t have enough money for even a tiny chateau, I’m crap at DIY so it would get more and more rundown, and I think I might be too lazy to look after lots of animals.

this made me laugh - we might be twins separated at birth 😂😁

I'm not. I suppose I could ask a dressmaker but would I be able to get the material?

MrsWidgerysLodger · 09/04/2024 21:46

A breast reduction! I'm a 32J and hate how everything looks frumpy or slutty on me because of them. :( Sadly not within my means.

KirstenBlest · 09/04/2024 21:47

You could probably get a close match to the fabric but I don't think the pattern is a close enough match.
The front darts and sleeves are different. It might be close enough for you.

Jasper Conran Blythe Midi Shirt Dress, Purple, 14 (johnlewis.com) reminds me of it a bit. There are other colours.
I like this
Jasper Conran London Betsy Kimono Midi Wrap Dress, Chocolate (johnlewis.com)

Obviously they aren't anywhere near as nice as the lilibet dress but are more affordable.

Ellaone · 09/04/2024 22:47

I’ve bought the jeans 😬

Reasonablerealist · 10/04/2024 00:17

A nice single lesbian who earns her own money into fitness and isn't violent or possessive or into playing silly mind games, loyal and loving but doesn't want sex all the time. Doesn't own a pet and likes to walk . Will understand my challenging background and personality

This is why I'm single and will never get it

Faceplantagain · 11/04/2024 08:17

A Toast shirt dress and chunky cotton jumper
Home / Women's Dresses / Stripe Organic Cotton Tunic Dress
Home / Women's Sweaters / Cotton Linen Easy Sweater
But I need neither of them and they're ridiculously expensive. I will therefore wait for the Toast summer sale, and discover they are sold out...

Women's Dresses

Cotton poplin dresses, denim dresses, floral print dresses, workwear dresses, shirt dresses and needlecord dresses for women.

Since posting an image of the £300 boots I was listing over I've been bombarded with ad images of it, the temptation is getting to me but they are way out of my budget! Won't be going that again. Need to stay strong....

Bianco latte perfume

Ooh thats one of my favourites, but yes it is expensive. I adore the Guerlain Spiritueuse double vanille perfume but Jesus christ, the cost.

I’ve bought the jeans 😬

Are they as perfect as you hoped?

Perfectlystill · 22/04/2024 06:55

Enjoyed this thread and wasn't moved by any of the listed after items which made me feel quite pleased! Thought the Sezane jeans are quite nice.

I occasionally lust after a two week holiday in somewhere like Antigua: just reading a book on the beach with those beautiful blues.

It'll never happen as I would get bored - I like to DO and more importantly SEE things on holidays. So I'll never spend that money on a beach holiday when I could eg go to the American Deep South, or Colombia or something.

Still, I do enjoy fantasising about it when I'm tired.

lapochette · 22/04/2024 07:38

A Chanel bag. Wish I'd bought one years ago as they've went shooting up in price and just can't bring myself to justify the cost.

Pliudev · 22/04/2024 18:44

I want a cockatoo like Barney the West Coast cockatoo. No scrap that. I want Barney. And his owner.

MissingMoominMamma · 22/04/2024 22:34

A strong upper body. I keep injuring my shoulder ☹️.

Somethingsnappy · 24/04/2024 10:32

An Irish wolfhound! And a camper van. And a long sheepskin coat from Celtic Connection. They're over £1000. I keep searching for a lookalike in the charity shops!

Reasonablerealist · 17/03/2025 23:11

Omg I wrote thus

Magpie50 · 18/03/2025 04:23

If its pets then I'd love a cat. A Devon or cornish rex (had both in the past and they are such fun little monkeys!). Sadly I have a cat hating dog and a ton of poisonous houseplants.

I don't actually think I'm currently listing after anything completely out of reach Tbh.
I'd love a Carla Rockmore bag, I just love the shape.
And I'm currently stalking a dress from Joanie that I'm waiting to go in the sale section.

beetr00 · 18/03/2025 04:38

@Magpie50 currently 15% off, now only £130 😉

stayathomer · 18/03/2025 05:04

Oh! I’m also in love with

Gymnopedie

‘s fitted jacket (we shall call it that and manifest it for you!!!)

I also want all the cars pictured in the driveway of that one bed (that’s been sold) that wouldn’t work because I’ve four children and a dog that would make it unrecognisable within seconds!! To all the horse and pony listers I decided about twenty years ago I didn’t want a piebald cob with fall- into- soft eyes, got married, had kids and wouldn’t ever have the time let alone the money but I spend my time on for sale Fb pages staring at gorgeous bombproof horse and ponies that look like they would make me so happy!🙈

To all the skip wanters - we got a skip bag once and it was firstly insane how much it fit and secondly yes it was living the dream (the time we’d moved before that I’d done 9 trips to the dump in one day. Had been sunny and I’d been listening to a very feel good audiobook but my body was shaking by the end of the evening and the car stank for days!!)

Hope everyone who can buy their dream gets everything they hoped it would be out of it. I love this thread!
