What are you lusting over but will (probably) never get?

You just WANT it but you won’t or can’t buy it because it’s too impractical, too expensive, not a necessity, not sensible, unreasonable, etc. Every so often you’ll look at it online, sigh longingly, give the screen a loving stroke and sadly close the page.

I’m not a fan of the LV logos on bags but this I love!

HerRoyalNotness those rings are gorgeous but a) can't afford them and b) too small for my huge fingers!

Me too, I'm very allergic to all cats and no amout of antihistamines would help, but I long for a Maine Coon cat. They're so bloody gorgeous.

apparently if you add egg white powder (special one just for this) to cat food they stop producing allergens.

I too would love cats, a pile of them. a couple of ragdolls, British longhairs and shorthairs, a siberian, a himalayan and a birman. for starters. sadly I am immunocompromised and often end up in hospital so can't have any 😞

A bottle of Chanel Cristalle. It's coming back in some sort of heritage bottle and it's around £150. Can't justify it.

A Burmese cat. Ever since a neighbour had one 50 odd years ago when I was a kid, I always wanted one like him.

I no longer have any cat and I'm reluctant take on another now but I still remember Chico and wish I'd actually got a Burmese at some point.

Oh and I'm a sucker for a slightly different coat and have been eyeing this up for years

If that is your lifetime fave perfume and it's been discontinued then I'd say that's worth a splurge, if such a splurge is within your means.

A castle in the mountains. I do the Euromillions when there's enough to buy it & run it for the rest of our lives, but I haven't won yet. I get the pix of the castle up & imagine living there & it's just heavenly. There's probably something wrong with it, because it's been on the market for years - but I can dream.

Years ago I lusted after Kaffe Fasset knitwear, then eventually decided that as I couldn't afford it I'd have to learn to make it myself - so I did. I started with a kit for a jumper, then went freestyle based on his books & had a fabulous time mixing all kinds of yarn & making clothes that nobody else had. So being unable to afford it worked out for the best in the end.

@Gymnopedie, I have that jacket. It is absolutely beautiful and very flattering. You should get it.

It looks fabulous but how do you manage to keep it clean? I would have to keep it at home and just look at it 😂

Also a Chevrolet Corvette from the 1970s. I first saw them in Canada in the 80s, fell in love & wanted one. A few years ago I had the chance to buy one, thought about it excitedly - & realised it was a stupid idea.

A house. Can't afford one, but keep looking on Rightmove because apparently manifesting works 😂

Rolls Royce Wraith.

A small castle. Ideally haunted with a friendly ghost.

A woodland with a stream running through it.

Love the rings, the coat & dress.
Mine would be a large Loewe flamenco bag in black.

There was a thread on jeans a little while ago where there was a link for the Sezane brut sexy jeans. I’ve been looking at them daily since, especially the edge blue ones. A bit out of my price range, although I am 40 in a few months, maybe I should treat myself

Yes, you should treat yourself. Go on you know they will be worth it.

Back21970 · 07/04/2024 15:35

I’m not a jewellery person but I absolutely love that ring.

Mine should be a skip but for over a year I’ve been stalking Ebay and Vinted for a Worth a Million Nicola Bronze tote bag.

The cost for a new one is only around £150 and I can technically afford it but can’t justify it at that price as I have loads of bags.

Think I will start selling on Vinted and create a fund to treat myself to a new one.

@DollieBantrysPantry, the fabric is tweedy and has a little fleck in it, so it doesn't really show stains (or at least as much as a pure white jacket would). I wear it with a grey wide leg pair of trousers and it looks really nice. Everything from The Fold is really good. Nearly all my work wear is from there now.

GHD cordless straighteners - we’re going to a festival in the summer (4 nights camping) and I’m dreading the frizz. I’m so tempted to buy some but at nearly £300 I just can’t bring myself to do it!
