What are you lusting over but will (probably) never get?

You just WANT it but you won’t or can’t buy it because it’s too impractical, too expensive, not a necessity, not sensible, unreasonable, etc. Every so often you’ll look at it online, sigh longingly, give the screen a loving stroke and sadly close the page.

I’m not a fan of the LV logos on bags but this I love!

A black Morgan roadster and a big fuck-off sunhat to wear in it.

A cottage in Derbyshire. Short of a lottery win, it will never happen. I've dreamed about it since I was a girl.

I want chickens too! However my auntie who had them for years in the country put me off them so I’ve sadly not got them. Do they get on with cats?

My chickens are willing to chase off the many cats who come by

Sadly they do die suprisingly easily so you cant get too attached

Hire of an aircraft hangar and lots of big, strong helpers to empty the contents of my house into it, like on telly.
Then I’d just choose the stuff I actually like, and they’d get rid of everything else.
Bliss.

DominoRules · 07/04/2024 19:34

@Nicetobenice67 so if I buy them now then technically it wasn’t my decision and I can just say it was you making me……..

JMAngel1 · 07/04/2024 19:36

A MaxMara camel wrap coat - have listed over it for probably a decade

A Dior saddle bag

My ultimate dream car, a Nissan GT-R. Sighs

@Abitlosttoday
I have a Siberian too. They're the loveliest creatures ever. Mine is starting the spring moult right now and there's fur everywhere. I brush her daily. What a pleasant chore :-)

I just recently found a little black velvet jacket, embroidered in black, with embossed silver buttons (very maximalist) at a local thrift shop, so I want for nothing.

Oh and I'm a sucker for a slightly different coat and have been eyeing this up for years

I bought a black one like this in the Anthropologie sale the year my son was born. He’s doing GCSE’s this year and I’m still wearing it

An off grid cottage with land. I have found several, all out of our price range and a peacock to go with said cottage. Apparently I am allowed to have chickens and ducks but peacocks are a no because they are too noisy.

IncessantNameChanger · 07/04/2024 20:51

Jaguar xf but a older one for about 3k. I want a xjs but they are so expensive for an impractical car.

I want a Mulberry bayswater but I only wear cross body or shoulder bags so it wouldn't work for me.

Liz1tummypain · 07/04/2024 20:53

@Clariana , when I was growing up we only had border collies and they were all lovely. We've got a rescue greyhound now, a gentle giant and I think we'll stick to greyhounds now. But for the long walks and for a dog with a bit of intelligence you can't beat border collies.

What I'd like is a cute bob hairstyle. Just won't ever do it.

This cardigan, I could afford it but it takes too much care to look after it

You’re not kidding! “Outfits with several pieces should be cleaned at the same time” - yikes!

MrsMiddleMother · 07/04/2024 21:14

An LV neverfull! I know they can be a bit marmite but it's my dream bag, hopefully one day!

I recently got a Siberian for my allergic child. He is utterly lovely in temperament and fur (the cat, not the child). He cost £1000, half as much as my banger car, but he is the best thing I have ever bought.

Omg he's gorgeous

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 07/04/2024 21:43

I saw the print in a magazine first and hunted it down😍.
The relief when I found it online🙂...... then I saw the price!!! 😳

Couldn't even bear to stroke the screen, big sigh!

have driven one (as a replacement car). clunky and annoying. very safe though

Have found them a dream to drive. XC40, 60 and 90.

Happyhappyeveryday · 07/04/2024 22:16

I bought a stone coloured one from EBay. It is absolutely beautiful and cost £50 - including the dust bag. You may be lucky on a resell site, as I was. Stylish, classic, cute and very unblingy for a designer bag. Love the olive colour - beautiful x

@doglover90 oh wow that is gorgeous! 😍in my dreams....

RJnomore1 · 07/04/2024 22:38

A pair of Dior d joy ballet flats in scarlet red but fortunately for my finances they’ve been out of stock since I discovered them.

There was a thread on jeans a little while ago where there was a link for the Sezane brut sexy jeans. I’ve been looking at them daily since, especially the edge blue ones. A bit out of my price range, although I am 40 in a few months, maybe I should treat myself

If they fitted you and were perfect, there can surely be few things that are a better splurge on a cost per wear basis than jeans!
