Is it even a dress?

She looked fabulous.

EdgarsTale · 19/12/2023 21:38

Not sure about the knickers showing.

MaggieFS · 19/12/2023 21:40

Yes, I think it's the low slung skirt and knickers on show that I'm not keen on.

forgot to put her top on? Lovely underwear though

MrSlant · 19/12/2023 21:47

She looked so tall and strong and fit, wouldn't be my choice of dress now as a saggy 50 year old but on someone so stunning I thought it was great. Had to suppress my mother coming out of my mouth and asking if she'd forgotten some of it though. Then I gave my head a wobble and appreciated someone at the very top of their sport and a fantastic example for younger girls that football is for them too.

Westfacing · 19/12/2023 21:51

She looked great - fit and healthy!

myrtleWilson · 19/12/2023 21:52

She looked stunning!

Neilsfavouritechilli · 19/12/2023 21:56

No judgement from me, she looked confident and happy and she earned that trophy.

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 19/12/2023 22:06

I didn’t like it at all; thought she’s such a beautiful woman, she deserves a beautiful dress. Really cannot understand anyone who said she looked stunning in it

DarkDuvet · 19/12/2023 22:07

Awful dress, a weird choice. The photos of her with the trophy looked like she was in her knickers.

Super fit woman. Weird dress

nameychangio675 · 19/12/2023 22:10

She looked incredible.

NashvilleQueen · 19/12/2023 22:13

I don't think she's in her comfort zone at these events. She made a few comments about walking in heels/tightness of dress and she did the same last time she accepted an award. But what I will say is that she's an absolute fucking legend and I love her and she can wear whatever she wants. Delighted that she won.

Clingfilm · 19/12/2023 22:15

Wasn't keen on it at all, it looked like a falling down skirt (like that girls aloud meme on loveofhuns yesterday) and an ann summers bodysuit that'd give THE ultimate wedgie.

Outfit aside, huge congrats to her for winning , YES to womens' sport in the mainstream.

Rainallnight · 19/12/2023 22:17

Yay Mary Earps etc etc but she was badly advised on that dress.

Slothsandspiderman · 19/12/2023 22:24

FFS she wins SPOTY and we are slagging off her clothes.

A new mumsnet low

Predicable.... but disappointing

ElaineMBenes · 19/12/2023 22:32

Clearly I meant predictable 🙄

Stencilplasttic · 19/12/2023 22:33

KJT looked stunning I must say. Pleased for Mary but yes the dress not quite so fab but hey who cares!

GoodnightJude1 · 19/12/2023 22:33

She’s an incredible sportswoman.

She looked amazing imo.

HeddaGarbled · 19/12/2023 22:35

But a man winning SPOTY wouldn’t be exposing lacy knickers. It’s not anti-feminist to point that out.

crumblingschools · 19/12/2023 22:37

To be fair if you wear a dress that looks like your pants are on show people are going to comment on it. Same as if a man walked up onto the podium showing their pants.

I thought her skirt had fallen down (probably showing my age!)

Really happy she won the award

Standard Mumsnet tbh

carolsandchristmas · 19/12/2023 22:38

Ps she is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

We’re commenting on Style and Beauty section of mumsnet: just giving our opinion on a garment worn on national tv
Am sure it would have garnered same amount of interest if Gary Linekar wore a suit that showed his pants
